Peggy Sue's Diner, 280 N. Sandhills Blvd., Mesquite, NV: Yesterday, 1/25, 2026 my wife and I decided to go to Mesquite, NV for the annual 'Balloon Festival'. Needless to say, with the additional individuals that came to the festival, all the restraints and buffet was crowded with 'very long lines and very long waits. My wife and I had never been to 'Peggy Sue's Diner so we deiced to give it a try. There was a waiting line, but only a 15-20 wait, not like all the other restaurants. After being seated we had a rather long wait before a waitress come to take our order. After our orders were received at our table, I found that my order was not correct and took some time to get the attention of the waitress to correct it, but in mean time my meal was getting rather cold. We both ordered white toast and in most (all restaurants) you will get '2- pieces of bread", but at 'Peggy Sue's' you only get '1-piece f bread'. And when I asked by side order of a sliced tomato (that came with my meal) the waitress charged me an additional '$1.99'. I had to ask when I paid to have this 'additional pricing' taken off our bill. We paid '$47.43' for our meals, which we could have gotten at any other restaurants for half that amount, "I would not recommend Peggy Sue's Dine" for your dining choice, it's very 'Overpriced", service is not that good, and you don't get what you will be paying for. On a scale of '1-10', I give it a "2" and that's generous. read more

We were greeted when we walked in and given a booth immediately. It was not super busy but business seemed good, looked like some traveling families and locals as well. They have good, fresh brewed iced tea. My friend decided on a breakfast burrito which looked good, it was big enough to take 1/2 of it home. And I had a club sandwich, kind of my go to lunch choice. It had turkey, bacon etc. but they also add ham, 2 kinds of cheese and avocado. I always choose sourdough bread because it's the best kind that's sturdy enough for this kind of sandwich. I don't know how they cut it but it immediately fell apart. It was hard to eat so I ate 1/2 of it in pieces. But it tasted good. The bathroom was not in the best shape, could probably use a refresh. Waited over an hour without so much an acknowledgment from waiters and was initially told to wait 15-20 minutes....and that we'd be seated once some parties cleared. They had individual folks seated where they could've easily sat a party of 4-6. Granted you may not be suited to serve a larger community, you still need a more attentive staff, considering you don't have a seating area to await accommodation. We waited for over an hour and wouldn't be allowed to wait at the bar area, with 4 kids who had been in a 5 hour car ride, nonstop! This being our first stop for lunch, and it's a place we'd been dying to try! But now will never return to! After standing maybe an hour and 20 minutes we were told we can finally be seated but won't be able to get food for another 40 minutes! Waitresses may have had more tables than they're used to, but they sure had time to pause, chat, crack a smile and a giggle here and there, and there was no rush! I peeked in multiple times and saw open tables pending clearing! We were told by the cashier that the waitresses asked her not to seat anyone else, mgmt sure as hell didn't care...had they told me sooner I would have left at least within the first few minutes with my kids to eat elsewhere before those places also closed for the day, either to get ready for dinner or until their next opening date. Not sure what all the mixed reviews are about--maybe they were just hangry? We popped in when it was a little busy, but got seated right away. The hostess grabbed our drink orders, and our waitress showed up soon after to answer our questions (and yes, I had a few!) and take our order. She was polite, pleasant, and not once made me feel like I was holding up the kitchen. We went for a Philly chicken sandwich with tots and a turkey-avocado-bacon sandwich with fries. Verdict? Wanted to eat off property and not a Mexican restaurant. Found Peggy sues and gave it a shot. Diner is decked out in 50s. We ordered a milk shake and I was immediately in the vibe. They put it in a glass and gave us the mixing cup as well. It was ice cold, which a few chunky pieces of ice cream. Ordered onion rings and burgers. I became a fan on onion rings, or the ranch that came with it. Either way, I now have constant cravings for onion rings. Burgers were ok, what I would expect from a diner. Went to the car show here in Mesquite went to dinner at Peggy. Sue's sat there for two hours. Didn't have half the food we wanted. They were out ,the service is OK. The management sucks wasted two hours of our life and never got no food from them I wouldn't recommend this place to nobody. They will never see our group of people there again. read more

We decided to visit Peggy Sue's instead of getting McDonalds breakfast on our trip. Peggy Sue's is way better, freshly cooked and service with a smile, no random kiosk that we have to order from and stand around waiting for our order. Peggy Sue's was packed and for good reason, the breakfast sandwich served on a bagel is delicious. It has eggs, cheese, bacon or sausage and you can add hash browns or breakfast potatoes. Always go with the breakfast potatoes they are created with peppers and onions and are very very good. Just make sure they are served hot, my first order was not but they replaced it with pipping hot potatoes. So goos, all of the kids had bagel sandwiches and I ordered a breakfast burritto, wow it was so huge I couldn't finish it but it was so delicious I was sad that couldn't. Staff was nice not to attentive with drink refills, but they were busy. We will make this our regular stop between Vegas and St. George, no more McDonalds for this group! read more

Upon our first and only visit, the nostalgia was interrupted by the janky plastic covers in the pie display and the smell emanating from the restrooms. Our booth had a major tear in the upholstery that could have easily been improved with some tape. The host was efficient but lacked hospitality. The dining room was full with only 2 waitresses visible. Sadly there was no music to jam to during the 15+ minutes we waited to be greeted. We finally placed our order including a loaded baked potato and several minutes later we were informed they were out of potatoes. The meatlovers skillet was soggy at best and there was no hope for the limp home fries either. Even the sourdough toast looked disgusting as it was partially slathered in what I am assuming was half melted margarine with the other half bone dry. The chicken and waffles was bone in and very skimpy on actual meat. The french fries were delicious and that's about it. It was the biggest waste of $80 but we had to learn the hard way. Stopped in for a late lunch and was greeted almost immediately by Hostess. She took us to our table and took our order for two coffees, with cream. Coffee came and it was HORRID. I don't mean it was bad coffee, I mean it was undrinkable! There was some sort of cleanser taste and smell, we knew it was bad after one little sip and replaced the coffees with Soda. Server showed up quick and took our order. Then we waited almost 30 minutes for our food. This time of day, the restaurant was about half full, two servers, one busser, three cooks, and some guy at the counter who kept walking up to the line, interrupting the cooks. Speaking of the cooks, it seems they were cooking one order at a time! There was a large party, 6, who had their food coming out a plate here and a plate there. I felt sorry for the server and hoped her customers realize it wasn't her fault but the kitchen's. No fault with our Server, or the food, but the wait was inexcusable.
