I hate leaving negative reviews, but after multiple visits, I feel people should know. The first time, I was served food with moldy bell peppers. They replaced the meal, but that should never have made it out of the kitchen. On my most recent visit, I ordered a roast beef sandwich. The meat had a strange sticky texture, that I later noticed after 55% completed and later that day I developed severe stomach pain and digestive issues. I hadn't eaten anything else that day, so I was very concerned. To make matters worse, communication with several staff members was difficult because of the language barrier. I had trouble explaining my order and asking questions, which only added to the frustration. A restaurant that's built around the image of a classic American 1950s diner should deliver good food, good service, and clear communication with its customers. Lovely little diner about an hour out of Vegas bear the AZ border. Prices were reasonable and the food portions very generous. Each omelet came with toast and choice of potatoes or cottage cheese or tomatoes. The service was fast and friendly. A nice stop to fill your belly. read more

We weren't sure what we wanted to eat so we thought a diner would be a good choice. It looks like a 50's diner when you walk in and super cute. We were greeted when we walked in and given a booth immediately. It was not super busy but business seemed good, looked like some traveling families and locals as well. They have good, fresh brewed iced tea. My friend decided on a breakfast burrito which looked good, it was big enough to take 1/2 of it home. And I had a club sandwich, kind of my go to lunch choice. It had turkey, bacon etc. but they also add ham, 2 kinds of cheese and avocado. I always choose sourdough bread because it's the best kind that's sturdy enough for this kind of sandwich. I don't know how they cut it but it immediately fell apart. It was hard to eat so I ate 1/2 of it in pieces. But it tasted good. The bathroom was not in the best shape, could probably use a refresh. Peggy Sue's Diner, 280 N. Sandhills Blvd., Mesquite, NV: Yesterday, 1/25, 2026 my wife and I decided to go to Mesquite, NV for the annual 'Balloon Festival'. Needless to say, with the additional individuals that came to the festival, all the restraints and buffet was crowded with 'very long lines and very long waits. My wife and I had never been to 'Peggy Sue's Diner so we deiced to give it a try. There was a waiting line, but only a 15-20 wait, not like all the other restaurants. After being seated we had a rather long wait before a waitress come to take our order. After our orders were received at our table, I found that my order was not correct and took some time to get the attention of the waitress to correct it, but in mean time my meal was getting rather cold. We both ordered white toast and in most (all restaurants) you will get '2- pieces of bread", but at 'Peggy Sue's' you only get '1-piece f bread'. And when I asked by side order of a sliced tomato (that came with my meal) the waitress charged me an additional '$1.99'. I had to ask when I paid to have this 'additional pricing' taken off our bill. We paid '$47.43' for our meals, which we could have gotten at any other restaurants for half that amount, "I would not recommend Peggy Sue's Dine" for your dining choice, it's very 'Overpriced", service is not that good, and you don't get what you will be paying for. Left after an hour of being seated and still did not receive our food. We were a party of two and watched a party of eight across from us finish eating, then another new party of eight was seated at the same table and received their food before us. When we were leaving, the sweetest girl at the front apologized and was able to see that our food was already done, though it was unclear how long it had been sitting there. We paid and left. Not sure if this was because we didn't fit the demographic, but it will be noted and we will never come here again. If you're in town for any events, skip this place and try the other diner in town. Not sure what all the mixed reviews are about--maybe they were just hangry? We popped in when it was a little busy, but got seated right away. The hostess grabbed our drink orders, and our waitress showed up soon after to answer our questions (and yes, I had a few!) and take our order. She was polite, pleasant, and not once made me feel like I was holding up the kitchen. We went for a Philly chicken sandwich with tots and a turkey-avocado-bacon sandwich with fries. Verdict? Waited over an hour without so much an acknowledgment from waiters and was initially told to wait 15-20 minutes....and that we'd be seated once some parties cleared. They had individual folks seated where they could've easily sat a party of 4-6. Granted you may not be suited to serve a larger community, you still need a more attentive staff, considering you don't have a seating area to await accommodation. We waited for over an hour and wouldn't be allowed to wait at the bar area, with 4 kids who had been in a 5 hour car ride, nonstop! This being our first stop for lunch, and it's a place we'd been dying to try! But now will never return to! After standing maybe an hour and 20 minutes we were told we can finally be seated but won't be able to get food for another 40 minutes! Waitresses may have had more tables than they're used to, but they sure had time to pause, chat, crack a smile and a giggle here and there, and there was no rush! I peeked in multiple times and saw open tables pending clearing! We were told by the cashier that the waitresses asked her not to seat anyone else, mgmt sure as hell didn't care...had they told me sooner I would have left at least within the first few minutes with my kids to eat elsewhere before those places also closed for the day, either to get ready for dinner or until their next opening date. Wanted to eat off property and not a Mexican restaurant. Found Peggy sues and gave it a shot. Diner is decked out in 50s. We ordered a milk shake and I was immediately in the vibe. They put it in a glass and gave us the mixing cup as well. It was ice cold, which a few chunky pieces of ice cream. Ordered onion rings and burgers. I became a fan on onion rings, or the ranch that came with it. Either way, I now have constant cravings for onion rings. Burgers were ok, what I would expect from a diner. The barbecue burger I ordered had a literal pool of bbq sauce in the center of the onion rings. It was at least 1 inch deep. I should have returned it then but instead I tried scraping it off. But the saturated burger, bun and toppings were impossible to eat. I tried eating it with a knife and fork but it was beyond a disaster. When I told the waitress, Meg, that it wasn't edible as she was taking my pile of destroyed burger from the table she said there was nothing they could do besides give me a piece of pie which I was too appalled to accept. Stopped by while in Mesquite and it's a cute little place. They have a bar and your normal diner food. Our server was friendly and took our order quickly. Food came out right and everything was fresh and hot. Loved that all the dishes came with a side salad along with the side you selected. So this is not the same Peggy Sue's affiliated with the one in California just an FYI after asking a server. But that did not stop us from checking out this diner and overall it was pleasant- server was nice and attentive but some of the items were not what we expected- there was barely any chicken inside our southwest chicken egg rolls and our grilled catfish was very under-flavored. Next time we're back in Mesquite might try another option or different menu item but it was worth stopping here to try this place. read more
