I know I shouldn't write this because part of the charm of Gregory's is that it's not too crowded ... and now it will be, but that's ok, 'cause next time I'm sneaking into the speakeasy side that's old school Las Vegas. We went into this dinner a little hesitant after eating at the sports bar and trying the breakfast buffet at Mason Street Courtyard. The buffet was... perfectly horrible, and while the sports bar food was below average, the service there was actually great. Because of that, we seriously considered canceling our dinner reservation--but decided to give it a shot. I'm really glad we did. Dinner ended up being a completely different experience. Our server, Lance, was attentive, kind, and made the evening easy and enjoyable. The food was solid and well-prepared--we had the halibut, shrimp scampi, and sea bass, plus scallops as an appetizer, and everything was very good. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 comes down to the atmosphere. They promote a higher-end dining experience and even have a dress code, but it isn't enforced. Ball caps, t-shirts, flip flops! It does make a difference--when people dress for the occasion, the whole room feels more polished and elevated. Overall, a really nice dinner and definitely worth going. We have not been here since the remodel, so I was pleasantly surprised at the difference it is in here. We had friends from out of town visit us, and we talked up the golf and the dining in Mesquite to include this restaurant with the early bird special. They took us in the back area to a beautiful table where everyone was spaced apart. The music and decorations were lovely. We all ordered early bird, two of us got the filet minion with salad, one got the shrimp pasta dish and hub got the chicken fettuccine alfredo with soup. We all loved our meals. I love the new bread...it was sweet with soft butter. The salad was beautiful and hub loved the soup...I forgot to take pictures because I was enjoying myself too much, but I did get the entree pics. For desert we got raspberry cheesecake...so delicious. The early bird comes with a drink, both hub and I got wine and friends got Diet Coke and hot tea. Great example of how things can turn around with good people. When we arrived we gave our name (bc we had made a reservation) and immediately the hostess, Anna, said "oh I cancelled that". No explanation just that. (1st strike) We said uh ok well do you have any availability. She then said "let me check". She then said "does he have a problem removing his baseball hat" (a person in our party had a hat on). Now mind you he is a full grown adult whom she is speaking about like he's a child. We were like he can take it off but you could had addressed him directly. (2nd strike) We were seated and she again proceeds to say to someone "this is the table cancelled but they came back". (3rd strike) Just to be clear , we didn't come back we actually had just arrived but since she didn't care to even clear up the situation and just wanted to be rude we just let it be. We still never understood why our reservation was cancelled but I don't think it mattered because it was 730pm on a Friday and they were MAYBE at 50% capacity. Needless to say we were pretty irritated by this rude hostess so it didn't start off so great. We were then greeted by David, the server assistant and he quickly turned things around. He was polite, welcoming, helpful & friendly. Lance, our server then came and introduced himself and got our drinks. David & Lance are why my 2 star review became a 4 star. Wine apple martini - Delicious! I was worried it was going to be super sweet, but it wasn't at all. Steak Bruschetta & elote scallops! Definite must try! The Bruschetta had a nice slice of steak on top which is very different! Now the big AWE moment. We were in the area for a festival and before we headed back to Vegas we wanted to get dinner. We googled some spots and that is how we found this spot. We had no idea what it really was and from the name we figured it would be casual. Nope! It was shockingly a very nice steakhouse. I live here part time and I thought I would try it out again .... It still doesn't compare to Kathryn's I ordered the meatballs and they came out cold The meatballs and sauce was cold, cheese wasn't melted at all. No cheesy garlic toast as described, only plain sliced baguette. I ordered the NY steak MOBB Style and it came plain , no MOBB so I sent it back. I guess these guys don't work as a team. Beautiful restaurant, nice atmosphere, great service. However if you want to purchase a gift certificate for Gregory's you need to go to the hotel gift store. Made it hard to purchase this, was sent around in the phone tree many times till we were sent to security. Hotel staff should know where to get the gift card!! read more

We enjoyed the surf and turf with a perfectly cooked 6oz filet and king crab legs, the juicy burger topped with white BBQ sauce based from mayo and horseradish, who would've thought. For the price, I expected better. The service and the ambience were both quite lovely. However, the food was not. I got the French onion soup, it was crazy salty. This is coming from someone who loves everything salty (I would rather have french fries for dessert than chocolate cake). We walked in on a Friday night and sat at the bar as that was the only option. The bartenders were very friendly and happy to serve us dinner, even though we weren't drinking. Food was amazing! Unique flavors and attention to detail. The restaurant itself, even being inside a casino, was very nice and clean. Only complaint is they only serve Pepsi products. Had Thanksgiving dinner at Gregory's Mesquite grill. It was just OK. We expected more. The service was good and the ambiance was fine but the meal was disappointing. The salad was very basic with drab lettuce, tasteless tomatoes and some cucumber. The turkey, ham, stuffing and potatoes were reasonably good but the broccoli rabe was inedible. The pumpkin cheesecake for dessert was fair but tasted store bought. We didn't want to complain on Thanksgiving and spoil the mood but overall it was less than exceptional. read more

The restaurant atmosphere was very nice, definitely felt like an upscale steakhouse. The service staff, specifically our waiter was awesome as well. The waiter(thabian?) was attentive and you could tell he took pride in is job. Bread and house salad with their own thousand island dressing was really good as well. All the sides were great! Unfortunately this is where it ended, our entire table of 11 ordered steaks, filets and rib eyes. It took a very long time for the food to come out, approximately 1 hour 30 minutes from ordering and you could tell the meat was cheap. Not only cheap, half our steaks were cooked incorrectly. The steaks were very bland. We felt a little bamboozled with the ambience and the wonderful servers. Oh boy. What happened to this place? We come here every year, but what be coming back. The food is bad, the service is worse. The bread is constantly "baking in the oven." The ambiance of this restaurant is the best in Mesquite. Super relaxing with plenty of room between tables. You're not sitting on top of each other like you do at Katherine's. All in all everything was fantastic. The food and staff were both wonderful. The only complaint we had at the end of the night was the price we paid for an old fashioned. I must admit it was one of the best old fashioned's I've ever had. But at $24 each we had sticker shock. Knock that price down $5 and we would have ordered 2 more. read more

The restaurant was beautiful. I didn't have a reservation so I had to sit at the bar but you can see the booths were dimly lit and perfect for a date night. The bar was full service so I was able to order the steak and mushroom risotto (no photos sadly). I was given a a lovely sorbet to cleanse my palette between my soup and my entree. The soup of the day was a meatball soup. The bartender provided great service. I'm not sure of the demographic that lives in Mesquite but most of the gentleman sitting at the bar appeared to be truckers (based on the clothing and hats worn). They were pretty loud at the bar having what seemed to be after work drinks. Their noise didn't seem to disrupt the flow of the other patrons seated at booths and tables. There were other menu items I would like to try so I'd definitely visit again if back in Mesquite. read more

We had a 4 pm reservation for the early bird special. We we promptly seated. Water and bread arrived . Our "waiter" Lance came over for our drink order. Soup or salad is included. We asked to upgrade the soup to the French onion soup. No problem ( caused they charged full price and didn't say he would need to charge full price) . We never would have agreed to pay $13 for soup that had no onions. I asked for an opinion between the New York steak and the salmon. Lance couldn't paise the New York steak enough. I ordered it. It was not seasoned, extremely tough, and had quite a bit of silver skin. I have never had such an experience at a steak house. . Disappointed read more

Happened to go to Gregory's after the Bruce Springsteen show and got there around 8:30. Despite the restaurant closing at 9:00 we sat at the bar and just had a few cocktails and Erick was the most amazing bartender ever.
