They replaced the meal, but that should never have made it out of the kitchen. On my most recent visit, I ordered a roast beef sandwich. The meat had a strange sticky texture, that I later noticed after 55% completed and later that day I developed severe stomach pain and digestive issues. I hadn't eaten anything else that day, so I was very concerned. To make matters worse, communication with several staff members was difficult because of the language barrier. I had trouble explaining my order and asking questions, which only added to the frustration. A restaurant that's built around the image of a classic American 1950s diner should deliver good food, good service, and clear communication with its customers. Unfortunately, my experiences have fallen well short of that. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and makes the necessary improvements.

The pizza reminded me of a late-night college drunk meal where your roommate swears he can make a good pizza. That said, the pizza is clearly designed for drunk people, and after way too many drinks, I could absolutely see myself smashing 7 or 8 slices. Service was okay, but a little slow. Ben reminded me we were one of only two tables and it was not ok, so fair enough. This was our second dinner in Mesquite, and I'm noticing a common theme: the bar comes first, and dinner guests who aren't drinking copious amounts of alcohol come second. The sour cream and guacamole are in small cups so you can use what you want. You have a choice of toast. I got rye toast. Butter for the toast is served separately in small plastic containers for those who want dry toast. The omelette also comes with some hash browns. I was served coffee shortly after I was seated and it was refilled once and I was asked about a second refill. It was a wonderful breakfast and made my drive to Mesquite a tasty place. Regardless of whether it was meant as a joke, it was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. We never even got the chance to sit down or order. I can't say for certain what motivated the behavior, but as a Hispanic family being treated differently than the customers before us, it definitely felt upsetting and concerning. I had the chicken club sandwich and it was exactly what I wanted. Chicken was cooked perfectly, delicious avocado and pesto sauce on it. The bacon, crispy. My mom had the Hawaiian burger and ate every bite. The fries were also fresh and nice and crispy. My dad had the prime rib and it was cooked exactly how we wanted and the meat was very tender and flavorful. He got it with a baked potato and veggies. My daughter had the beef teriyaki and her steak was cooked as she wanted. The mac salad was diff than I'm used to as they add pineapple to it but we enjoyed it. My son in law did the ribs special and the meat fell off the bones. It was a large portion and he didn't finish it but really liked it.
