Have eaten at Virgin River Many Times and was expecting the usual "Casino Food" It was Right around 6:30 in the Evening and they got us right in, very short wait. We Ordered and Split the Ribeye with Extra Onions. IT WAS AMAZING! As Good as ANY I've Had. It was Served a perfectly cooked medium with an excellent sear on the steak. It was a beautiful cut of meat; Tender, Juicy and FULL OF FLAVOR. Our waitress was very attentive and Brought us Horseradish and Au jus, it was DELICIOUS With Our Hot Steak. My only suggestion is to get the Check out quicker at the end of the meal. What a hidden gem! I stumbled across this café while staying at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, and I'm so glad I did. The atmosphere was welcoming, the staff was genuinely friendly, and it was the perfect place to slow down for a bit in the middle of all the excitement that Vegas has to offer. The food was fresh, delicious, and exactly what I was hoping for. Everything came out quickly, was beautifully presented, and you could tell care went into every detail. My coffee was fantastic too--rich, flavorful, and the perfect way to start the day. One thing that really stood out was the service. It's rare these days to find people who make you feel like they're genuinely happy you're there, but that's exactly how I felt. Those little interactions make all the difference. Whether you're staying at the hotel or just looking for a great breakfast, coffee, or lunch spot away from the chaos of the Strip, this café is absolutely worth the stop. We were staying in the hotel with friends and had dinner at Virgin River Cafe. We stood in line for maybe about 20 minutes or so. We were sat in a corner booth (table for 5) and the seat was a bit tight. We had to push the table out a bit to be more comfortable. Our server, Carlos, was very nice and attentive. Food: Salt & Pepper Pork Chop Black Bean Shrimp Porterhouse Steak Hong Kong Crispy Noodle My friend cut a piece of his Porterhouse Steak to taste and the pieces I had were delicious. Great seasoning and tender. The Black & Bean Shrimp was ok. Not the best. The fried rice was also ok. I did however enjoy the noodles. I loved the sauce. The highlight of the night was the porkchop. I loved the lightly battered crispy chops. It was so good. I haven't had a good salt & pepper pork chop like that in a while. Ill definitely return again. read more

This has to be the worst place I've ever seen and been to,staff were just standing around while a group of people started to line up and gather so it's terrible..We were sat down after a grandfather and his boy were already there and got our drinks and meals before them.Im definitely not going back anymore. read more

Good steak and salmon! However....we stayed at the Casino hotel on our trip across the country. Stopped in to the Cafe for dinner. There was a long line waiting for a seat. Once we were seated our server took care of us right away. Our chips and salsa arrived and were somewhat of a let down. These were chips right out of a bag and the salsa was somewhat bland. Our meals arrived and both the steak and the salmon were very good, but other than that, mixed veggies straight out of a can, buffet style rolls and baked potato. Also note that being in a casino, the atmosphere is very smoky. The Cafe had a Las Vegas vibe with historical pictures from the history of Las Vegas. Adding on we stopped back in for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised. Less Smoky in the morning, shorter line to be seated and the food was very good with reasonable cost and large portions. Deffinately more impressed with breakfast. I had the breakfast skillet with over easy eggs on top. It had potato's, bacon, sausage, and ham and I had them add some cheese. We came in as a party of 4 adults and 5 kids, and the experience started off poorly. The host and staff made a big issue about our stroller and repeatedly said it was blocking servers. There was visible frustration, including eye rolling and moving tables around in a way that felt unwelcoming. Overall, the customer service felt rude and unprofessional. It made the experience uncomfortable, and if we didn't have our children with us, we would have left and dined elsewhere. read more

I have had some really bad breakfasts experience at this place in the past (terrible ham steak) and a rude staff. I was also denied Chinese food as it was 9:01pm (Chinese menu is removed at 8:45) and was forced (lol) to eat a steak instead (which was actually surprisingly very good for $9. Well seasonned and juicy!). Originally, I wanted to rate this place 1 star but after 3 or 4 meals there, I give it 4 starts and here is why. As I mentioned, the steak deals are amazing. The staff is nice helpful and friendly. Even though the decor and vibe is really outdated (booth seats are destroyed) the staff makes up for it, they crack a lot of good jokes and are very efficient. The Chinese menu (which I could try twice this year, even at 09:01pm ;) ... I got lucky, the table next to ours ordered Chinese before us and couldn't get their food...) features slightly bland Americanized Asian food but it does hit the spot when you are craving it, especially after a long motorcycle ride. Perfect pairing with a $14 bottle of chilled white wine! The Prime rib is very decent for under $10. read more

Only complaint was the construction was noisy and dusty. Our food was tasty and fast. Our server was very nice. I had the Baja omelette. The salsa was quite warm. But, it gave the omelette a nice zing. Ham and cheese omelette was enjoyable too. Now we will go gambling. read more

There was a wait due to the special that they have going on. I'm not sure how long or how often the special is, but it was a good deal. We were seated towards the back area which was pretty huge. There were some noticeably broken tables and chairs. The cleaning solution that they use had a strong lingering smell too and it was kinda muggy. Good temp inside though for it being cold at the time. My son ordered a burger with fries. He said he enjoyed it. Only thing was he said the fries weren't crispy enough. But I mean, he ate it all lol. I got the prime rib deal. Love how fatty it was and it came out perfectly medium rare. So sad I used to love this place advertised to be open late we come here all the time we gamble here twice a week the last five times we have came at 9 or 10 we are told they are only serving sandwiches after 10 once they stop see the special they don't want to wait on anybody else after ten when they are open until midnight I hope management can hire more servers and cooks who willing to work late and not shut down after 10 pm we drive 45 minutes to come eat here they vacuuming as we are eating it took 40 minutes to be greeted in 45 minutes to get our food? The food and the service used to be good at the Virgin River Café. But the past year it has gone downhill. I ate there yesterday and ordered the porterhouse steak. It was half the size that it shows in the picture and very thin. My salad was wilted with old lettuce that was all brown. I was scared to eat it. The butter for the biscuits tasted like melted chemical plastic. The vegetables were old, wrinkled and dried out. The side of ranch I ordered to dip my french fries in had a piece of lettuce from someone else's salad in it. Disgusting! The salt and pepper shakers on the table were also disgusting. Food: 4/5 : ordered the prime rib special. Can't go wrong for $12.99 (a thick slice of prime rib, baked potato, steamed corn, and a dinner roll). In my opinion the prime rib needed more seasoning but everyone has their own preferences. So I just added more salt/pepper & it was fine. Service : 3/5 : We waiting 45 mins to get seated, our serve did not approach our table til 15 mins after we got out table. They were short handed so it's understandable but our server was rude & rushing us the entire time. Overall, I would give them a chance again & hopefully it will be a better experience. Traveling through Mesquite by myself, I checked into the Virgin River Hotel and decided to grab dinner at the café. I ordered a glass of Chardonnay, and the ribeye dinner with the salad. Salad was mediocre, didn't even have cheese on it. The steak and baked potato were good. I asked one of the waitresses where the restroom was, and she pointed across a gaming center, which I thought was odd that it wasn't inside the restaurant. When I came back from the restroom, my table and food had been cleared. I mentioned it to the waitresses and they were amazing! They comped my dinner and asked if I wanted a dessert or them to remake my food. I said that I was fine, I didn't need anything else, but I did ask where I could go to grab another glass of wine. They gave me a bottle of wine at no charge! These ladies went above and beyond to be apologetic, which I truly appreciate! read more

Oops I got fries again and regretted I didn't get mashed potato. I came here at 3PM on a Saturday and waited but I could've came at 4 and walk right in. Perhaps because it is cold now but 4PM is a bit early for dinner so I dont think you will wait alot as long as you show up right at 4 in general. Prime rib used to be $8 but it is now $11. Still good. The one I got today was bland which I liked because you can always add salt. It was a bit cold and came out really fast. "During my recent visit, I was really impressed by Kalea (I hope I spelled that right!), who seemed to be the primary person for staff to ask for help she is a well respected liked team supervisor. She was everywhere - greeting guests, seating them, taking orders, delivering food for other servers cleaning, and even sweeping. Despite being so busy, she was incredibly pleasant, even when cashing people out and grabbing drinks from the bar. She took the time to chat with us and asked us how everything was , Then she was even asking all the tables around us and As a former business owner, I was blown away by her work ethic and kindness. I've been coming here for years, and she's one of the best employees I've seen . Her and our amazing server yazmen is the only reason I will be coming back to eat . The food and my server (yazmen) were great, as always. However, the seating situation is still an issue. There are always dirty tables, and the young bussers seem to stand around while an older host is rushing to seat people. On the other hand, the coffee has been consistently cold during my last three visits. The most upsetting part of my visit was witnessing the manager publicly berating a staff member for how he was clearing dishes. She made him visibly upset and embarrassed in front of the guests. The entire atmosphere shifted from pleasant to tense and uncomfortable. Managers should uplift their staff, not belittle them, especially in front of customers. I hope someone higher up addresses this issue before it affects employee morale and turnover. You'll be able to find it because it's easy to locate. It's quiet. When we visited this place we didn't have to stand in the long line that they usually have. We were seated right away. NOW, here's where the two stars get deducted. I ordered the 12oz prime rib and my husband got their steak. I ordered mine medium well, he ordered his steak medium rare. BOTH of our meats come back WELL DONE. My prime rib seemed like it was boiled! I'm not kidding. If you take a beef rib and boil the thing till the meat falls off, that is what the prime rib looked like EXCEPT the meat wasn't tender at all. It was very chewy. Idk if we just hit a crappy chef that night or what, but it was NOT worth what we paid for. My husband's steak "looked" good, but again also very tough meat. I will give them this though, the mozzarella sticks and the poppers were tasty. Besides those, I probably won't be ordering the dinner menu and their widely advertised prime rib or steak anymore. Welllllll.. we decided to venture out to another cafe in Mesquite. They advertised $10.99 prime rib- looked delicious on the billboard! We arrived and were immediately sat, the hostess gets 5 stars! After a little bit someone came and asked if we wanted something to drink. I asked for water with lemon as he stared out the window into the casino and my friend said she was fine. He was quite grumpy as he was staring out the window and said "I can't hear you" kinda sounded like my cranky old history teacher! He gets 1 star just because he brought my water. Our server finally came over after about 10 minutes to take our order. I added a salad since it didn't come with my dinner. The lettuce was brownish and you get a little plastic cup of dressing. The prime rib was more medium than medium rare, and DRY! It didn't look anything like the billboard! I asked for more horseradish and it was pretty bland. Food 2 out if 5. Server 3.5 out of 5. We visited for breakfast - advertised breakfast special of 2 pancakes, 2 sausage, 2 bacon, 2 eggs and hashbrowns was not on the menu. Food and drinks are priced far higher than average ($4 for a small, no-refills Orange Juice??) due to convenience, other than the breakfast special. You will need to ask for the special to receive it since it's not on the menu. My husband and I are friendly and easy-going people but the hostess and server both seemed to be pretty annoyed with having to be polite. I was just assuming it was because this was a 24-hour café and perhaps they had been working all night, so I didn't pay it that much mind. We decided to split the special since it was so much food - pancakes were flat, not fluffy, and tasted burnt around the edges, bacon was great, sausage average, scrambled eggs were bland, as were the hashbrowns.
