Red Lobster is, well...Red Lobster. It's one of those ubiquitous chain restaurants you find in small and medium size towns all over the country. And in many of those parts, it's considered a premium establishment. :-) After a long day and fresh out of Zion National Park, I just wanted to replenish and go to a familiar place where I'd have no surprises. I know exactly what to expect as their flavor profile is the same at any Red Lobster I've been in all my sexagenarian years. Don't confuse that term with anything lurid. I had the bacon mac-n-cheese and lobster bisque. That combination was the bomb, especially when I combined the two in each bite. It's coronary overload. I have not been to a Red Lobster in years! We stopped in as our hotel was down the street. Ample parking, friendly welcome, & clean restaurant. Friendly service, not as attentive as we would've liked but our server was very nice. The food was ok. We ordered the pound of snow crab with crispy potatoes under, along with one side. I had super soft, steamed broccoli -it came unseasoned. My kids had rice pilaf but it looked like buttered rice. The crab had garlic butter poured all over it - too much. It also made the potatoes kind of soggy, not crispy. It was kind off too much butter so that is all you could really taste and it was really messy to eat. We were not able to finish as the butter was kind of making us sick. Dessert was ice cream and a key lime pie. The ice cream was good but the pie was kind of bland. I did like that it wasn't too sweet. The food wasn't the greatest but probably a good spot if you like butter:) Sorry, no pictures...we had plastic gloves on to eat. We came in this afternoon to celebrate our anniversary. Lucky us! It's Wednesday and their special is steak and lobster! Our lobster was so sweet and delicious! My husband said his steak was cooked to perfection. We started our meal with the coconut shrimp which were crispy and so yummy! Our server Michael was on it! Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time and he kept our drinks flowing! Then we ended our dinner with Michael bringing us a really yummy ice cream Sundae and an anniversary card signed by all the staff. Nice job St. George Red Lobster and kudos to Michael and the chef! Sat down ordered 2@ $25 plate of crab carbonara for me and my wife. Ate my mediocre salad that was wilted. Couldn't eat the crab plate it was absolutely horrid, didn't look or taste like real crab. My wife and I couldn't eat it. So we asked for our check. They charged us $13.96 plus tip for the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. They treated us like we were there for a free meal. Left them a $20 bill and bailed. Scratch this location off your list if you enjoy food. Good luck. read more

This is our go-to spot after church on Sundays, and we always enjoy the food. The service is exceptional--the staff goes out of their way to make sure we have plenty of Cheddar Bay Biscuits and our drinks are never empty. The restaurant is consistently clean and clutter-free, and the music is always at a comfortable volume, which we appreciate. That said, bring back the All-You-Can-Eat Shrimp on Mondays and I'll happily return that missing star! Over the years, the menu has changed quite a bit--we really miss the Lobster Bisque, crab cakes, Sunday lunch menu, and the Captain's Feast. Tried them again last night. FIVE STARS!!!!! Everything was perfect. My wife ordered salmon, and I ordered the Surf & Turf. The steak was cooked to perfection. Medium rare. The lobster and salmon were also cooked to perfection. Great flavors and great service by Vannie, our server. A complete opposite of our experience from a week ago. Disappointing Service and Unprepared Staff This was my second visit to this Red Lobster. The first time, the service was great, but this time was a disappointment. I asked for the biscuits, which are usually served at the beginning of the meal, but the waiter and manager kept saying they were baking. After a long wait, they finally brought them out--right as we were ready to leave--claiming a large party had taken the earlier batch. That's not an acceptable excuse for a busy restaurant that should be prepared for high demand. To make matters worse, the biscuits they finally brought were undercooked. When crablegs need to backstroke in chopped/minced garlic butter...the diner loses. This delicate crustacean deserves better. This heavy handed inexperienced "chef" needs a consultation with Gordon Ramsey and/or (the spirit of) James Beard. This "chef" runs current and any future diners away. Ruined our birthday lunch. Sarah our waitress was attentive, and did the best she could. I heard her explain chowder was made per bowl with extra butter to finish it off to another table. I'll bet there is no big pot, made from scratch, in the kitchen. More cutting corners. Are patrons stupid? Does Red Lobster really think we won't notice? Sarah received her 20% tip on a lunch of $54. So the only smucks were us. Not again. Lastly, ambience. There isn't any. The look hasn't changed in years. Shoestring decor and faux Napkins. Another money saver. By the way the only thing we saw of the manager and a "how's everything"? was his name on the outside of the building. Now that ensures confidence and pride. We are done. Growing up on the ocean, fishing, cooking, and living on seafood...we know and expect better. The fish n chips was extremely greasy and it fell apart in my hands as I picked it up showing it's overcooked. Garlic shrimp was very delicious and warm to the perfect level, it was garlicky to the perfect level too. The baked potatoes was loaded with all the right stuff making it delicious. Popcorn shrimp. The dragon shrimp was perfectly crispy and just tasted overall great. Some of the sauces were extremely artificial. The coleslaw was extremely bad though and fake. So was the biscuits that's tasted super fake and over buttery. The atmosphere of the place was nice, most people seemed fairly happy enjoying their time or at least it seemed so. The service was goodish, our waiter was very happy and surprisingly positive about everything. Everything seemed fairly clean and it was cool how at the entrance they had a fish tank full of lobster which really pointed out the "Red Lobster" name. Well we've been there twice & each time I guess we're seated at a table that no one is assigned to. Once I get a server I have no complaints. Today we ordered steamed Maine lobsters with a salad; the rolls, salad & glass of wine were good, however the broccoli was over cooked, the rice undercooked & the lobster claws were ok but tail was tuff & chewy. The red lobster is strategically located at a major intersection in the middle of town. It looks quite attractive from the outside. despite the name, they do not serve lobster. They did have a special for candy shrimp however. I was in the mood for a steak. Boy was out a mistake! It was as hard as old shoe leather. I suppose it might make sense to go there if you want to use the salad bar. The staff are lackadaisical and stroll from place to place or hang out behind the counter chatting. Im in St. George, Utah. When Red Lobster 1st Opened over 25 yrs. ago, it was really good. Then slowly it started to get bad. We had gone about 8 yrs ago with family, and it was awful. The crab smelled like ammonia, which means its gone bad. Everything was bad every time we went. So...we stopped going. Fast forward to today Feb. 2025, a friend gave us a gift card to Red Lobster. I thought, "DO THEY HATE US?" Well, we went, and what a surprise!! I didn't know they had gone bankrupt a few yrs back,and are now owned by the owner of PF Changs. Our waiter JORDAN PAINTER, was really really good. The kind of service you don't see anymore. ( He's in his 40's maybe that's why) He was very friendly, very attentive, Recommended the best dishes to me, cuz I was not sure which item to order. In the past just the mention of going to Red Lobster would make me sick. His recommendations were spot on. And, the food was actually really good! I was shocked. Thank You Jordan!! Our 3td visit to this location and first since covid struck the planet They are open & we had lunch The cheese biscuits were fantastic I had a Caesar salad but they use a creamy Caesar that almost tastes like blue cheese and was very salty. The cup of clam chowder was bland. We both had a glass of Arnold Palmer that was perfect with lots of lemonade taste We shared a surf & turf plate with filet steak cooked medium As usual with Red Lobster a very tiny lobster tail It was ok And the steak was good It included a scallop kabob but we didn't care for the mushy bland texture / flavor. The baked potato was very small & had only butter & sour cream, no chives even though I asked for everything on top. Dan likes bacon bits usually too but none Anyway I come for the biscuits! This location always seems to be packed. During pandemic we have stayed away from crowded places. We came into town to shop and decided to have an early dinner. They didn't look busy at 4:45 pm so we came in. Waited 5-8 minutes for a booth. Service was prompt and pretty fast. I had the Mango Coconut Shrimp. Wife had the grilled Trout blackened. We both had a side salad. Salads were just right size. My Caesar salad was a little too mayonnaise ish. My shrimp came and was a huge platter. Almost to much to eat. Cheddar Biscuits are always a favorite. Wife loved her tasty Trout. It was de boned and cooked perfectly. It was a great meal and had few issues. We enjoyed the food and the service. We've been going here for years, 15-ish to be exact. The service, food, employees have always been on top of it. From a party of 2 to a party of 26 we e received the type of service you would expect from a 5 star Resturant. So hands down to a job well done. The desserts are probably where the attention needs to be directed if there is anything I would say needs improvement. Not too much of a selection. We've tried everything on the dessert menu and have found 2 items that were spot on. The rest and including those that have come and gone off the menu, would need some work. Wow, I haven't been to Red Lobster in 20 years, and this is the first time at this location. My memory told me that Red Lobster was nothing more than an expensive place to get deep fried breaded shrimp from a freezer bag, with french fries. So, when my girlfriend asked me to take her there for our Valentine's day dinner, I was preparing myself for disappointment. Not so! I was so impressed, I'm giving these guys five stars! We were seated, orders taken, on a busy night, and served in a timely manner. Our waitress was awesome, very attentive and kind, even though she was obviously very busy. I ordered raw oysters on the half-shell; fantastic! They were very fresh to my surprise, obviously shucked upon request, served on ice, and included all the toppings! Perfect! My girlfriend ordered the double Lobster plate with rice pelof, and shrimp linguini. Of course we shared her plate, and again, to my surprise, everything was fresh and wonderful; even the shrimp in the linguini was fresh and flavorful! I ordered a sangria which actually had fresh squeezed fruit berries; loved it! I ordered the fish and chips, the fish was hot, moist, and tender, so large and flakey when I picked it up, it broke in half under its own weight, a large healthy serving. We finished the meal with a slice of key lime pie, which again, Perfectly hit the spot. I was very pleased, and must admit, pleasantly surprised, I've been to a lot of sea food restaurants, and St George Red Lobster can certainly hold their heads high. We have used Red Lobster as our go to restaurant for special occasions. After our experience this past Sunday we will no longer go there. The biscuits were dry and had no butter on them. The melted butter for the lobster was NOT butter. It was some white concoction that was super salty. One little dab of butter on the baked potato. read more

Stood inside waiting on the host for 15 minutes then he tells us they are closing in 10 minutes and they couldn't seat us. Upper management was at the store and I was quite shocked they watched us walk in then walk out. I wish I'd read a few of these reviews before our trip to Red Lobster. What a disappointment. We hadn't been here for a while (St George Red Lobster), and found out they have removed several favorites off the menu like fish tacos. I ended up choosing fish and chips, and I've never had the fish served as one big filet that I had to eat with a fork. Our food took an entire hour to arrive after we ordered it, and I think it was lost in the kitchen shuffle. No apology from our waitress who seemed a bit overwhelmed, but at 3:00 in the afternoon, the restaurant wasn't that busy. She also forgot the biscuits until we asked and didn't offer a drink refill. Fifty dollars for this meal was way too much. Average at best and we won't be going back. read more

This place is gone down hill. All they sell anymore is a bunch of farmed raised shrimp and tiny crawfish lobster. They don't have seafood like halibut rockfish bass it's not a seafood restaurant it's a bar food shrimp, peel, overpriced restaurant. I got the lobster Alfredo and it was so heavy you could brick and mortar the house with it. The wife got the flounder and the flounder had no flavor to it and it was $19. The mac & cheese was so heavy and pasty looking was disgusting. I must say the cheesecake was good and the ice water was good. Oh yeah, some margarita was good but $15 ridiculous. Oh yes, the crab queso dip was runny and I couldn't find any crab. It was $14. read more

This is usually one of the more reliable chains (decor is pretty consistent for all of them), where it can approach upscale, though for me, it never quite makes it all the way over. Waiter had a hard time remembering the cranberry/tea concoction I like to have and just brought me straight cranberry juice at the end. Cheddar biscuits were good, as ever, though I don't understand why servers don't bring in a divisible number based on patrons. If you have an even number of guests, for instance, why bring an odd number of biscuits? Server oddness aside, the lobster pizza was its usual excellence and the grilled plate I had ranged from quite good to passable. Consistency is evidently not the strong suit here. The corn, which cost me more money to get, also came out as a plain cob, no flavoring on it at all. This was not what I would say one of the better showings for this chain, which usually, as I noted, tends to take a great deal more care. My companions plate seemed to be better (maybe fried food is the way to go at this location)...if I ever get back again, I may try that in order to be able to say definitively but that would not be high on my list of priorities to get to after this somewhat shabby showing. read more

Fridays is the special for fish, received a child size portion with 14 French fries, my child is 32! We ordered on the app and used curbside pickup. Nowhere were there directions saying you needed to call the restaurant to say one was picking up. After following the text directions when we arrived, we waited 10 mins past when our food was supposed to be ready. I went inside, was not acknowledged. When the host finally saw I was standing there, he stated we were supposed to call when placing an order. I'm from out of town how am I supposed to know that as when ordering through the app does not state that at this location you have to call. He said, "We are busy and we don't always look at that." We were looking for a brunch restaurant before going back home but since it was Sunday every location we went to was busy. It just happened that red lobster was around the area and they just opened as well. Even though it was a last minute decision we had a good experience. Levi was a server, he did a great job assisting us. He was so organized and very informative. He would let us know how we would take us order and would come next to you so no one is yelling across the table. After he served our drinks he also let us know that he was getting us the bread but it was still in the oven. I ordered a pasta with extra sauce on the side. Every time I order my pasta it is usually dry but this time it was so creamy. I didn't need to use the extra sauce that I ordered. Levi did not miss any order, everything came they way they were supposed to be. He is so patient with us, with all the questions and extra stuff we needed. read more

I went in for a late lunch with the wife, her treat, and our order was slow. It all turned out great though because of the wonderful wait staff and the manager. A problem occurred with our order in the kitchen. The wait staff alerted the manager who came to us with both an explanation and his personal apology. I have had a bad taste in my mouth for this chain for about a year now...but out of ease off the highway on our road trip we landed here, again, to be disappointed, again. Pro: waitress was polite. Con: no clam chowder soup, bread, or two desserts featured on a special. The food came out all on top of each other which made it hard to focus and finish a dish. The shrimp was served over Luke warm fries and was not aesthetically pleasing AT all. I'm gonna have to just pass on this chain for the rest of my life. It's always a blah experience.
