We ordered the 2 meat plate with baby back ribs and brisket with mac and cheese and bbq beans. We also ordered a side of coleslaw and sweet potatoes. Mac and cheese was creamy. I enjoyed the coleslaw which also had red onion and was in an apple vinegar dressing. O had the sweet tea to drink and it was good. The woman who took our order came out to check on us, which I appreciate.

I told the person I made the reservation that I was going to be there for a birthday dinner, with the intent of having a great time. First of all, the server Domonic, was stiff....he didn't check on me or my partner other than to ask us to cut into our steaks when we got them. My guy's steak was not as he wanted....he wanted it cooked medium, he got almost rare....it had to get sent back...then a drink I ordered, a painkiller, tasted watery...and the Diet Coke my guy wanted had a strange taste. When I asked for another drink, the answer was quick and terse..."we don't give free refills" Wow!.......it's as if he wanted us to leave immediately and had the to go containers at the ready....(was it because my partner and I are an interracial couple?) (he had a bad day? ) (who knows) The interaction with the server felt off from the beginning. The place is nice, but I felt let down. Unbeknownst to the restaurant, they had a celebrity in their midst.....Olympic athlete, gold medal winner....not naming him unless asked.... I tipped Domonic $20 because customer service is hard and times are hard.... The ladies at the desk were nice and personable.... Would I come back here, not really..

The reason for the 3 stars instead of 5 is fully on the service and not the food. We were there 1.5 hours with no wait to get seated, but once seated we waited 15 minutes before the waiter came to check on us. If they had been busy I would have understood but we were one of two tables in the restaurant at that time. Once the waitress came and took our order we waited forever to get our food. I think there was only one person back running the kitchen. The food was really good but considering how long it took to get our drinks and our food I give it 3 stars. The waiter was never around when we needed refills or had questions. I would like to return but I'm hesitant at the moment.

Why is this not "BAIT AND SWITCH" - Sumo's website vs reality?…read more https://sumoshabukoreanbbq.com/#menu The advertised website menu details convinced my wife and I to come in for lunch at around 1:50 PM. But it was only AFTER we were seated, saw the physical menu, and mentioned that we came in to try the A5 Wagyu Beef in the "all you can eat lunch," that the waitress thankfully spilled the beans - that they would charge us the dinner price ($10 more each) to get the Wagyu. I showed the website menu to her and the manager, which was even more explicit about including the Wagyu. (I overlooked the fact that it was now also a higher price). When I asked, the manager admitted they have been denying lunch customers the Wagyu for about 2 months - plenty of time to edit the text on their website to reflect that, and append the physical menu. But apparently, the owner simply did NOT WANT to change it. Why?And, of course, the owner is nowhere to be found, and throws the manager and waitress out there to do his/her dirty work and take the heat.

The food itself was actually very…read moregood--we ordered two rounds of the fish tacos and the salmon sammie--but the service breakdown and complete lack of communication ruined the experience. Our main dishes took over 30 minutes to arrive, and it felt like they only came out because we actively hunted down staff to ask. On top of that, our Caesar salad was missing. After waiting another 15 minutes for the salad, we finally caught a server and explicitly asked to cancel it. 10 minutes after canceling, the server brought the salad out anyway, saying it was on the house. By that point, we were already finished with our meal and turned it away. Kitchens get busy, and guests understand that. But setting expectations upfront ("Hey folks, the kitchen is backed up about 30 minutes today") or proactively offering a small courtesy early on would have changed everything. Leaving guests in the dark, ignoring a cancellation, and then offering an unwanted item at the very end isn't good service. I'm normally a generous tipper, and frankly, a tip wasn't deserved here at all. I left $2.00 strictly out of habit, but the front-of-house service severely let down what was otherwise a great meal from the kitchen.

We had a 730 res, showed up 10 mins early because parking was easy and told to wait eventhough we saw 6 open tables. Once seated they had a large very drunk unruly group of guys center room screaming and carrying on. Not a giant deal until I saw they same guys being rude to other patrons and literally grabbing our server. We couldn't hear the menu explanations due to the volume of that table. Drinks. The wine was fine for my wife. I am a whiskey and scotch guy Ordered a macallan 12 - didnt have it Ordered a EH taylor -didn't have it. Ordered a Bookers Bourbon- had it however the world's largest ice block (literally sticking out of the glass) which diluted the 1 Oz $30 pour. Bartenders inexperience truly showed here. The food. For the love of God, discover salt. We ordered 4 things. Elote Scallops Crab Mac Ny strip (medium rare) Best dish by far was the elote. The scallops still tasted like the sea and were extremely gritty. The steak...... medium and on the way to well. Not seasoned. The sauces were a horseradish and a chimichuri. Neither of which saved that steak. We literally sent the crab Mac back to the kitchen. Inedible. Tasted like tuna mac that had been left in the oven too long. Our server took care of all of our concerns and saved the evening, even gave us a few sea salt chocolatechip cookies (the cookies get salt but the $60 steak doesnt?) ......until the food poisoning kicked in. So thanks for the cheap wesightloss I guess? Gave it a try, and we would never recommend it to anyone we respect or call friend
