After reading all these glowing reviews, I am thinking I must have gone on a "off" day. Our server was very friendly and accommodating. We both ordered mimosas. They were served in plastic ware, my plastic glass had a lipstick on it from the person before me. **check your drink glasses** The food was not anything to rave about. I got a Spinach Omelette with goat cheese and potatoes. The potatoes were dried out, maybe that is the New Orleans way to serve potatoes. Honestly, the omelette was something I could have made at home. It didn't have a lot of flavor so I asked for a side of salsa and was charged $1.25 for a spoonful of salsa? Who does that? The redeeming piece of the meal was the biscuit, it was fluffy and SO delicious! I may give this place another try in the future, however, I wouldn't say it was a "jewel". It's a nice addition. I'm from New Orleans and I was really looking forward to an early brunch date with my wife. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I don't think it would pass muster in New Orleans. Very bland - had the trifecta. Shrimp was over cooked. Eggs Cochin was good, not great and the fried chicken had no flavor at all. A 15 minute wait turned into a 30 min wait followed by a 25 min wait for someone to take our order followed by 30 more minutes for food. Brunch is busy, no surprise there, but there were plenty of staff and table turns were very slow - hope they get that sorted. The decor is basic, the cheap plastic plates are a real let down. Very cheap eating experience. Silverware rolled loose, cheap, off brand Sysco condiments at the table. Just a poor showing, well below other Franklin brunch spots and FAR below something from my home town. Worth a try, wasn't impressed and felt like we wasted a ton of our morning. read more

The food is okay, but they are EXTREMELY slow. The service is unacceptable. Do not go there if you are on any sort of schedule! On our first visit there, my wife and I ordered our food and after over 45 minutes, it still hadn't come. During that 45 minutes, our waiter only visited us once to tell us our food was "almost ready". He never refilled our waters or anything. After 45 minutes, he came and apologized and said there was a glitch in their system and our order never got input. To Ruby Sunshine's credit, they comped the meal and brought it in to go boxes. Our first visit was during opening week, which was busy and hectic so we decided to give them another chance. On our second visit, it was not busy at all. It was lunchtime on a Tuesday. We made sure to order our food immediately when the waitress came to our table the first time. This strategy did not work. We waited 40 minutes for our food after ordering! During this 40 minutes, our waitress completely avoided us. We didn't get a single visit. No water refills. Nothing. She only came out of the kitchen a few times and when she did, she wouldn't look our way despite me making gestures to get her attention. There was no apology when the food came either. I don't have any complaints about the actual food. It was good. Nothing fantastic, but not bad either. It is very pricey when you factor in the complete lack of service that goes with it. If you only get an hour for lunch, avoid this place! Their lack of effort is unacceptable for a business in downtown Franklin. read more

Brunch was good not great. I had the peacemaker eggs Benedict with 1/2 Chicken St. Charles and 1/2 Shrimp Boogaloo. The chicken was really good while the Shrimp was so so. The Shrimp were very small and there were only about 5 of them. It didn't taste good enough to try again.Service was good and fast. Overall experience was as good but not good enough for for the prices $16 for eggs Benedict and $10 for mimosas plus another $1.50 in drink tax which they breakout. So $11.50 for a mimosa. Had high hopes for this place. Had. Was EXTREMELY let down. My food was only so-so on but more on the side of tasteless and my girlfriend's salmon Benedict tasted grotesquely fishy. Our waitress didn't bother to check on us and left us sitting for close to ten minutes. We then received our bill for three of us that was over $90 which is asinine for food that is lower in quality and taste than what you can get at Cracker Barrel. Wanted to take out of town guests to visit Franklin, TN. Of course we decided we should eat on Main ST. We walked in and loved the Louisiana brunch atmosphere but felt completely forgot about by our waitress. I don't like complaining on these things but she seemed like she was already to leave when we were her only table left (it was still around 1:30) it took forever to get our food even after the brunch rush was over. We were never asked if we wanted any more refills, drinks, how our food was until another waitress realized we were sitting there ready to just get out of the place. I was looking forward to eating at this restaurant considering that I've seen quite a lot of people out front. However, I should've taken into account that most people I saw only had drinks. The food here is absolutely mediocre. They have a wide variety of food on their menus however, the food itself is bland and tastes old. The restaurant was packed. We didn't feel safe at all. We ate at multiple restaurants in the area over the weekend and didn't have this feeling. I just got back in town and it was 9 am and I was starving and decided to go to Ruby Sunshine before the crowds with it being Sunday Brunch. I didn't want to take up a table of 4 so I just sat at the bar. I ended up ordering the Peacemaker Benedict ( chicken & pork ) with a side of potatoes. My order came out rather promptly but I immediately felt a certain way when I saw the knife on the plate. Not only was it dirty, it looked like it had tried to be wiped off by hand due to the fingerprints on it. Disgusted because the food runner could have just looked at the plate and the knife would have stood out, I wait a few minutes and show one of the waitresses who I can tell too is like "wow". She proceeds to give a shiny clean knife and then I wait graciously for my potatoes too come. I eventually ask Evan, because I'm one of those guys who likes everything all together at once, if my potatoes are coming and he walks to the back to grab .. I start on my chicken biscuit and use my knife to open the poached egg and nothing comes out ... disappointed because I'm starving I just suck it up and start eating with my over cooked eggs. Evan comes back with my potatoes and I really just don't feel like sharing with him that something else is wrong, especially since he's the bartender and has other guests. I continue to eat but I realize this just isn't the same without a runny poached egg, especially if I'm paying $16. Wanting to be satisfied, I bring Evan back over and ask him if the eggs here at Ruby Sunshine are supposed to be like this and he immediately says absolutely not and gets a manager for me right away. The lady apologizes and asks if I'd like another one and I immediately say I'm sorry, but yes! I finish my potatoes, which are spectacular I must add, and a few minutes later my Peacemaker entree appears. It was so so so much better having that runny yolk mix with the Benedict sauce . Only able to eat one, I ask for a box and he hands me my check which shows my total $21.31 but also shows how they reordered another peacemaker showing it to be "complimentary 100% " but still charge me for it, which is fine but I can't lie I'm somewhat annoyed because of my experience there and at $26.31 ($5 tip), I ultimately wouldn't go back because I expected a little more. Maybe I'm wrong but that's just how I feel about my first time experience with this place. I've been to other restaurants and even worked and I know how most restaurants value the customer. Went here for Mother's Day just forgot to post right away because I like to be in the moment when out with family and friends. Must say the food was excellent and quite fast. I had the Bam Bam Biscuit which consisted of a fried egg, pepperjack cheese, candied bacon and a fried green tomato on a huge buttermilk biscuit. I also enjoyed a tasty bacon infused vodka Bloody Mary(after 10 AM on Sunday - as we have stupid laws here). We did try to get here early to beat the Mother's Day crowd but and did check-in early on from yelp and was pleased that we only had to wait about 45 minutes upon are check-in in person. So the point is to get here early or you will wait; but it is totally worth it. My entirely family enjoyed everything we ordered. Our server was on point; got us refills and asked if we would like another round timely. I also noticed that the entire staff seemed to work together; which is what you want to see in a place that is hopping like this. The restaurant was clean and you never saw a table dirty with dishes on it for more than a minute. Will definitely be coming back soon! read more

What a poorly managed restaurant.. got here at 10 am put name in for a party of 7..it is 11:53 and we still have not received our food. After 1 hour and 18 mins we were seated. We watched them seat 2 people at a 7 seat table. They didn't order for 30 mins. They when I asked they were quick to tell me we quoted 1:15 min wait and it hasn't been that long. Then when seated we asked for the children's order to be put in quickly.. no. The wait time was erroneously given time ya multiple times and became super frustrating. On our second visit, we used the app from this page. Once we arrived "they said..."oh, we don't use the app, we'll need to put you on the list now". Again, frustrating. The food...the experience??? The restaurant is brand new, so please take from that what you will. We placed our name on the waitlist at 10am on a Sunday and waited for an hour for a table for two. While I didn't have a huge problem with them, my husband found the chairs uncomfortable. They were backless wooden stools. If that would be uncomfortable for you, I'd be sure to ask for a table with regular chairs that are not in the bar area. The staff was more than kind, but service was slow. This was expected for a crowded Sunday morning, but if you're looking for more of a quick meal, I would look elsewhere. I ordered the Ruby Mimosa for $10 which was good but strong! I also ordered the Eggs Cochon (buttermilk biscuit topped with 2 poached eggs, apple-braised pork, and hollandaise sauce) for $15. My meal was delicious. The biscuit was perfect and honestly the best I've had in quite some time. I really enjoyed my meal here, I just wish that the wait was shorter so we could bring our family here as well. Ruby Sunshine was a slight disappointment; service was slow, including food. The biscuits were almost too hard to eat, which really takes away from the Benedict's. I was initially excited for this new, "New Orleans style" restaurant to hit downtown Franklin. I work & live nearby. I've eaten there twice and ordered a sandwich to go, once. The food is mediocre, not living up to the price, and it's all been SOOOOOOOO GREASY!!! I had to ladle the 1/4 cup off grease off my shrimp & grits, it was so gross. Even my sandwich was greasy which is disgusting. I couldn't help but imagine the grease jar I have at home that is use to dump out grease when Cooking....this place should try that... read more
