Let's start with the Bacon Lover's BLT&A The perfect amount of crunch. The bacon was juicy NOT WET but the right amount of fat. Perfect amount of avocado paired with the garlic aioli. It could use a touch more lettuce but that still doesn't not take away from this beautifully crafted sandwich. Always right to bet on it. Now the pancakes. The Bourbon St. Pancakes were a hit all on their own. I pieced together three à la carte items to marry a delightful blend of FLAVOR and joy. The loaded grits explode with flavor in each bite. Their grits are smooth and creamy so if you don't like textured grits, you may actually give these a try. The green onion steals the show every time. I've never heard of sage and brown sugar sausage -- the earthy flavors were a hit! Stopped in for breakfast and glad we did! Caught it on a Saturday am and didn't wait long. Service was great. Our kiddo had the kid's pancakes, egg and bacon and it was a good size portion. His pancakes were fluffy and kid approved! We split the lemon blueberry goat cheese pancakes which sounded odd BUT were absolutely delicious! Their pancake itself was outstanding. Came with eggs and bacon which were delicious. Also ordered half order of beignets which went really well with their iced coffee. I was in town for business and decided to try the Broken Egg for breakfast since I'm diabetic and the hotel breakfast was nothing but carbs and sugar. I ordered bacon extra crispy and a pumpkin spice cold brew. Unfortunately, the bacon came out burnt instead of crispy, which made it pretty unappetizing. The cold brew was fine, but overall my experience was less than mediocre. I found this on Yelp (of course) and so glad I came here. We've got them in some areas of Florida, but nothing close to where I live. Anyway, my server Angela was wonderful. I found her to be a really kind patient person, and competent in her role. The food menu is built for all kinds of eaters, and also offers an extensive specialty drink menu. I ordered the Veggie Omelette with creamy feta cheese, spinach, sautéd mushrooms (subbed the tomatoes for onions). I also subbed the grits for fresh fruit. Since it's not pre-made, I was allowed to select the fruits I wanted. That's so important to me since I'm highly allergic to raw pineapple. Other popular chains really don't allow for too much customization. The dining space offers comfy booths, high tops, and regular tables. It's inviting and built to allow a lot of natural lighting. But I after that they took about 10 min before someone came to get our drink order and other 15 min to get them. I took my kids here for a rainy Saturday brunch today. The restaurant is nicely decorated in a southern Louisiana style with wrought iron and fun wall decorations. Server was attentive to all of the substitutions we needed for vegetarian options instead of bacon. My son got the hot chocolate with whipped cream. It tasted very fresh, and not like some packet mix. Rwandan, single source coffee was very strong and tasty. Kids meals are plentiful and the fresh fruit is unbelievable. I've never been to a place that adds mango to their fruit plates. Apple juice was also very fresh so we took it home. I got the Eggs Blackstone Benedict, and asked for spinach instead of bacon. The spinach was served as a chiffonade on top, which I thought was neat. The eggs and hollandaise were plenty and delicious. Manager personally came to make sure that everything was good. The grits were the fluffiest I've ever eaten and the combination of grits, smoked Gouda, bacon, tomato and scallions was absolutely delicious. Coffee was piping hot and delicious. Only downsides were the eggs still had the cooking oil on them, which tasted a lot like the butter put on popcorn in movie theaters. I'd either change to real butter, or blot the eggs before bringing them out. I also asked for crispy bacon - which it was - but it was not very hot. I had an appointment in the morning and needed to kill some time. I was in the area early and I know it had been a good 10 years since I ate at one of these. I was literally the first customer in the door at 7 AM. I got a booth and sat down. I was in the mood for pancakes since the yelp photos showed pancakes. I ordered a coffee and a water. I got the plain buttermilk pancakes. I opted for the chicken sausage. The coffee was, well, its caffeine. I was not a fan of the super dark roast. It tasted like what I jokingly call "charbucks". I added lots of half and half though which were in individual disposable cups. I really liked how they had the butter packets on the table, so they're not cold and hard as a rock. That made it melt so much easier on my pancakes. I also like how they had the syrup immersed in hot water so the syrup kept hot. The pancakes were done just right. Not crispy oily and not dry like some other places. The eggs were ok. I got them scrambled. Not dry but they had a decent flavor. I tried a little of the on brand pepper sauce. The sauce had a sweet ish flavor to it. The chicken sausage was not to my liking. It was sweet and I had to eat them with my pancake to make them palatable. They had so much on the menu I would definitely like to try again some time. The entire thing cost about $19. My waitress was nice and attentive. Points docked for the coffee and the sausage. It's sad that there are not a lot of alternatives for people who don't eat pork. All in all, I left the place fat, dumb and happy. I will return and try more of the menu. I started off with the Grand Mimosa which is a mimosa and with Gran Marnier - the only way I can drink mimosas. For breakfast we ordered the Bourbon Street pancakes combo and an order of shrimp & grits. The pancakes are prepared with bananas, pecans and praline syrup!
