My confession, this was not my first trip to Crieve Hall Bagel Co. and I have no idea why it's taken so long to post a review. It's in a small shopping center at the north limits of the Crieve Hall neighborhood. You can normally find a parking spot in the lot or if you know someone in the neighborhood, walking is an option too. Walk in and order at the counter. Be sure to check the available bagels that day AND any specials, especially the cinnamon bun special. Every time I have been, the staff has been extremely helpful as you navigate the choices. (note - there is a separate window outside to pickup online orders, delivery orders etc. so that helps with inside congestion). There is almost always a line but it moves quickly. On my last visit, they had just completed the March Madness bracket and were featuring the Cheddar bagel with chive cream cheese- $1. As I said, always check the special! They will feature some interesting coffees, bagels varieties and let's talk about the Cinnamon Roll. The first time I sampled the Cinnamon Roll special it was a blueberry pancake version, imagine an amazing cinnamon roll(yes, it's sweet but not overly and has great flavor), with blueberries and cream on top! The only downside is they are very large, but that means you get one to share with your people. Their bagels are really good! You can eat them plain or get some spread for them. (note that bulk bagel orders are not sliced). They also have breakfast sandwiches. To top it off, this has the feel of a real neighborhood spot. Plenty of folks greeting each other, friends connecting, families gathering. Indoor seating with books for the wee folks and some outdoor tables too. I understand they have another location but this is original CHBCO. Definitely worth checking it out! read more

Our quest continues for the perfect, true, New York style bagel in Nashville. Unfortunately, this place didn't quite hit the mark. that said, it was very busy, and seems to scratch an itch for many. Especially those under the age of 35. Having enjoyed great bagels over the years in Nashville, as well as on our travels to New York and other places, bagels in general in Nashville just aren't very good. We had high hopes for Crieve Hall when we found it, but our Takeaway evaluation was simply: meh. read more

We came here for a quick bite for breakfasts after my flight and before a big customer meeting. We walked I. And started immediately drooling over the smell. I ordered the Cuban (very sweet and delicious) and the Fig & Pig bagel with arugula, bacon and fig jam. It was absolutely delicious. My coworker ordered an Americano and the Autumn Brie-ze. I am always in search of a good salmon bagel for breakfast, and so I am glad that I stopped in here before I left town. I got the "Da Werks" and a hot Honey Bear latte. It was a good fresh bagel, with a good amount of schmear. I will say, it was busy inside and looked as if It had a good customer base. It sits in a corner nook of a shopping center with bright windows that allow for lots of sunshine to come through, and I did notice they had a small kids area, so very family friendly. read more

Delicious pretzel bagels and very kind service! My husband walked in for his birthday bagel, and he was greeted with a smile. Their pretzel bagels tasted like authentic pretzels and paired well with the chive schmear. The ingredients were fresh and texture was just the right amount of crunch on the outside and chewy on the inside. They have free wi-fi and ample space if you work from home and desire a change of scenery. I had the drip coffee and it was pretty good. You can purchase the teas and coffee to make at home. Crieve hall bagel is a solid bagel spot in the area with friendly staff and local neighborhood vibes. I appreciate how they have sanitation wipes available and a self service station with water, sauces, coffee add ins, etc. They make delicious sourdough bagels in house daily and have many great bagelwich options. I got the big boi in an everything bagel (bacon, egg, cheese x2) and thought it was super salty due to the bacon. The bagel itself had good texture/flavor but i would try something different on a return visit. Still a great spot if you are craving a bagel! read more

I'm not in this part of town often, but when I am, it's always worth a visit to the O.G. Crieve Hall bagel shop! Their bagels are some of the best in Nashville (made with sourdough), and they rotate flavors regularly. On my most recent visit, I ordered a rosemary bagel and asked them if they could spread a different schmear on either half so I could try something sweet and something savory. They said that would be no problem at all, so I went with the maple walnut and the sun dried tomato. Yum! On the coffee side of things, I've ordered a cortado here a couple of times, and it's always been made to my liking. It seems like there's a decent amount of seating, but it goes quickly! There wasn't a table available for our group of four, but we managed to borrow a few chairs and circle them around a small end table. It just goes to show what a great spot this is - people want to stick around for a while! read more

This is the second time I have come to Crieve Hall Bagel! The service was great! They can get pretty busy, so it may take them a while to get the bagels out to their costumers. I feel torn on giving them three stars...maybe a 3.5? I just felt like my bagel was hard and something just seemed a little bit off with my sandwich! I just didn't love it and it was a classic sausage, egg, and cheese bagel! The last time I came with some friends and they put a lot of cream cheese on my bagel! We had to scrape it off because there were globs of it! I really like the environment and seeing lots of families and people come that seem like regulars here! One of the times I sat in here with a couple of friends and liked it a lot. The restrooms are also pretty nice, which is always a plus! Honestly, I think I would maybe come back? But only if I was with some friends that wanted to. I feel like it was be the environment and name itself that draws people in! I also think I could have come on an off day, so also want to be gracious with that! I go here whenever I want bagels and for good reason. They are delicious and always pack them up for a to go breakfast. Today I got their apple chai-der as a drink and it was delicious, like fall in a cup. I got the fig and pig sandwhich which I wish had less of the fig jam on it. But my bf got the lox bagel and that was very good too. The service was friendly and we if you go on your birthday you get a free bagel! Crieve Hall Bagel is one of my favorite spots in Nashville. The bagels and coffee are amazing. The dining area has a nice vibe. This is a busy spot! Fortunately, there is plenty of nearby parking. If you're dining in expect a bit of a wait to place your order and receive it. They offer online ordering if you'd like to skip the wait for takeout. They even offer a convenient takeout window to the right of the main entrance. It's set back a bit, but it's there and very convenient. One suggestion I'd have would be a spot to grab a menu at the entrance. On my visits the bagel flavors were only on a list at the counter. I'd love a little time to review the menu before ordering. This is a family friendly spot. Huge shoutout to Crieve Hall for putting a child seat with buckles next to the changing table in the bathroom. Why doesn't every single business have one? I love this so much and I love Crieve Hall for considering parents like this. All of their bagels are sourdough. The bagels are delicious and a little chewy as they should be. My go to order is a Rosemary Bagel with Chive Schmear, Egg, Bacon, and Cheddar. I recently ordered the Honey Bee for my daughter. It was so good! The bagels are delicious toppings on that are honey schmear, blueberry compote, and granola. Crieve Hall offers a full coffee menu with all the basic plus fun latte options. I always order a Cortado. It is bold and smooth. My husband ordered the Loopty Loop Latte and enjoyed it. The Pop Tarts here have the best tasting pastry and housemade fillings. I had a favorite pop tart spot in Las Vegas, but Crieve Hall pop tarts are better! I love that they change up the flavors seasonally. The fruit flavors are the best ones. A perfect neighborhood spot for after-church brunch, post-run fuel, meeting up with a friend, etc.! I've visited here on several occasions and always enjoyed the bagel sandwich or bagel and schmear combinations I've ordered. Last Sunday, I tried the baklava and banana bread seasonal lattes, paired with a Morning Mashup blueberry bagel sandwich. Though the $12 sandwich price tag felt a little high, compared to building my own bagel sandwich or the other menu options (and the maple syrup drizzle was also not transparent, if included), the flavor was delicious. Shoutout to the kind cashier who suggested the blueberry bagel flavor pick for the sandwich (when the other bagel flavors still available at the time were more savory than sweet). The bagels and schmear can get messy, but the quality is definitely there. The coffee is also great, and I appreciate the variety of classic and unique flavors to choose from. I have been eagerly waiting for a good time to visit Crieve Hall Bagel as I have heard such wonderful things. I had time to make a solo visit and do some reading and it did not disappoint! I really wanted to try the Fig Pig, but they were out at the time (good reason to return). I am a lover of everything bagels, so went with that, and was so pumped to try their sourdough bagels - which was perfectly baked, covered in delicious seasoning, and just the right about of chewy. I got the Big Boi and found the cheese a bit too much and not melted enough, so I took most of it off, but absolutely savored the sun dried tomato schmear the barista recommended - also they do not skimp on the schmear, which brings so much joy and pleasure while eating! I was able to relax (so aesthetically pleasing) and read and order an iced americano to go and support Urban Nashville by buying local merch. Highly recommend and will be back soon!! read more

Came around 7am on a Tuesday and did not have to wait in line. They have an extensive menu with lots of bagel options (specials rotated each day) and I really appreciated that more meat than just bacon and sausage was offered. I got a double toasted everything bagel with an egg, avocado spread, and chicken sausage and was satisfied. Place was clean and staff was friendly. They said they don't have their cinnamon rolls ready until about 8am every day, so unfortunately could not try one. read more

Had to update my 2021 review after a visit last weekend because it's such different business now! We lived in Crieve Hall 2016-2021. And while we lived there, there weren't too many businesses that we could visit or support in the neighborhood (we even lost a few to that enormous gas station in 2020 or 2021). Crieve Hall Bagel was just opening up as we were moving away from Crieve Hall and Nashville, and I so wish it had been there for all our Crieve Hall/Nashville years! When I first visited in 2021, it was still operating as a to go business. I was given bagels that weren't sliced with small containers of cream cheese to assemble ourselves. Definitely a to go window operation at that time! But it's not the same business now a few years later - they've really expanded, and it was so wonderful and impressive to see how their operation and business has grown! When we visited this past weekend, we found a large space with great indoor and outdoor seating, great (very friendly and helpful staff), and a large variety of bagels and toppings. The space is truly lovely - bright, clean, spacious! I had an everything bagel with sun dried tomato cream cheese (which is adventurous for me - I'm pretty traditional when it comes to bagels), which I really enjoyed. I do think their menu leans more non traditional than traditional when it comes to bagel flavors, cream cheese options, and toppings. For example, for bagels, the traditional flavors include everything, plain, salt, and sesame (but no rye, pumpernickel, egg, sesame, marble, etc.), while they have more of the (to me) non-traditional and sweet flavors: blueberry, cheddar, chocolate chip, cinnamon sugar, jalapeño cheddar, etc. And they do offer lox, capers, red onion, tomato, and cucumber, if you want to create a traditional bagel with lox. But they only offer lox, whereas another bagel shop in town might be a pain to visit but offers more seafood options (whitefish, pastrami lox, belly lox, etc.). Crieve Hall Bagels does offer a lot of what I consider more modern, less traditional toppings like chicken sausage, hashbrowns, pork sausage, Swiss cheese, avocado, vegan sausage, etc. (Full disclosure: I'm Jewish, so what I consider traditional for a bagel is definitely guided by that - the classic NYC bagel options are what I think of and what I want when I'm eating a bagel. But I get that not everyone is that traditional about bagel toppings and prefer a wide range of things from jam to avocado to pizza toppings. So this isn't a criticism of Crieve Hall Bagels when I say they lean less traditional when it comes to bagel options. It's just a factor to consider when you're thinking of where to order or pick up a bagel!) I'm so happy that Crieve Hall Bagels is doing well in our old neighborhood. I'm so thrilled that Crieve Hall has a great locally-owned business like this! Would be thrilled to visit on my net visit back to Nashville! I was contemplating leaving a review because my experience left me unsure. This was my first visit, and I placed a pick-up order. When I walked in, no one greeted me, just a few stares. I let the staff know I had a pick-up order and described what I ordered. When I received it, a staff member mentioned that next time I should use the pick-up window because it's faster. I wasn't aware there was a window, as this was my first time visiting. My bagel was okay, but my latte really stole the show. I love the Crieve hall bagel co on the southside so I was excited to see the east Nashville one open! The new space is absolutely gorgeous! It's got lots of room & parking is free for 2 hours! Heck ya! I ordered the cheese-everything & chive smear. I'm an east coast bagel lover but there's room in my heart for these bagels too! I absolutely loved my cheesy everything bagel! This is a local gem. The bagels are delicious. The swiss onion bagel on that they make only on Mondays is a particular standout. Easily the best bagels that I've had in Nashville. Best everything bagel I have ever had in my life!!! 10/10 This morning I had an everything bagel with plain smear, bacon, and egg. Bacon was crispy and delicious, I do wish the egg was more runny rather than over hard, and OH MY the everything bagel had just the right amount of crispy exterior and full of seasoning, my mouth was bursting of flavor in every bite. Very busy but was never a line more than three people. I order the cinnamon latte & a build your own bagel (everything bagel, egg, bacon, avocado, and red onion) everything bacon was a bit too salty. I want to love this place and I will try again but I had a sad experience on Easter morning. I ordered Avocado toast on a rosemary bagel and sat outside to enjoy our breakfast. Well this is a beautiful meal but it is also hard to pick up and eat, so I tried using the plastic cutlery to cut through and give me less messy bites but I literally couldn't! So I quit , closed up the box, waited until I got home and used my stainless steel to cut it and eat it. But it was delicious. I loved the capers and presentation. Then I needed to use the restroom, I noticed there is only one. It was occupied so I waited several long minutes and gave up- held it and went home. There were many people here at this busy cafe so I couldn't believe there was only one restroom. I'll return and try something easier to eat next time. The staff are nice. I went in here to try the place out. After the debacle that was Proper Bagel (no parking, busy, crazy, not enough staff to accommodate the demand, not enough space to accommodate demand etc etc), I wanted to try it here. They open at 0630 and I was among the first in line. I guess there is a high demand here too. But they have a big parking lot that you don't have to pay for, and ample seating. I got the everything bagel BEC (Bacon egg cheese). I went through the line and ordered and paid. I sat down to wait. The order comes out in a white paper sac, and you just walk up to the counter and collect it. I sat inside and ate it. The only complaint I have is the egg seemed to be very well done, like it was a little on the hard side. It was a folded scrambled egg. The sandwich itself was $7.70 before tax. I got to check this place out because of the Good Coffee Crawl. Their bagels are fresh and delicious. I recommend going earlier in the day so you have more selections as they sell out of bagels quickly! Their coffee crawl latte was delicious! I loved it so much. We came in for my wife's birthday for the free birthday bagel. About 20 minutes went by and we still did not have the bagel (cheddar jalapeño). I asked one of the workers, and they said they didn't have the order. I told her what the order was, they said they were out of jalapeño bagels. The worker said they found one in the back. I'm always searching for the great local bagel. In Austin, I was a huge fan of Rock Star Bagels, but in Nashville have been just ordering online from trusted NYC locations. So Crieve Hall had been on my short list to try, as they keep coming up as the best in Nashville. It's a pleasant location in strip shopping, just off of 255 and I-65, so pretty convenient. Parking's decent, particularly with all the coming and going. While Crieve Hall's bagels aren't authentic NYC, their sourdough is a delightful variation. The cheddar and jalapeno in particular have such a wonderful crunch, though they all have a nice crispy crust, and the jalapeno has some excellent truly spicy bites. They have my vote for local bagel. read more

Sadly, I have not been back here in over a year. Since my last visit, they have entirely redone the interior of this awesome bagel shop and it looks great! I first came to Crieve Hall Bagels when I hosted a Yelp Holiday event in December 2021. Back then all they had was a walk up window and an empty space next door that was filled with baking supplies and giant mixers. That raw space is now has a fully loaded walk-up counter, multiple tables, chairs, and booths to enjoy your bagels and coffee. Yes, I said coffee. There's now a fully functioning coffee bar filled that serves lattes, cold, brews, and all the caffeinated basics to get your morning started. During my second trip, I ordered a cold brew and the avo toast. The cold brew was delicious, you can't go wrong with this classic. The avo toast was very good, but overdressed for my liking. This doesn't mean it didn't taste delicious; as I really enjoyed the balsamic, cherry tomatoes and red onions on top. It was very messy and because it was served on an everything bagel, too hard to eat with a knife and fork. I'm not in the Crieve Hall area too often, but now that I know this venue has a fully functioning dining area and great Wi-Fi, I could see myself coming here to get a little laptop work done and have a nosh. PS: I don't take off stars because food is messy. If the flavors are there and the vibes are good, I'm good. read more

I'll start by saying that I love this local business, and I think the actual bagels themselves are delicious. However, I keep having frustrating experiences at the pickup counter where my order is incorrect, or they run out of what I order, or the sandwich composition isn't the greatest. I consistently have a pretty long wait for my order. It seems like the employees are stretched to the max and running on fumes, and sometimes they almost seem a little annoyed that I am there adding to the workload. Rarely do I wLk out of restaurant but the wait for my to-go order for one bagel surpassed 20 mins. The workers assembling food were clamoring to work around each other. It was chaos to watch. Perhaps an industrial engineer some other work team workflow analysis would help this growing company. I told a group of folks that had also been waiting for their food a while that they were welcome to bagel. This was my second attempt to try out this restaurant. I would certainly try again, but was disappointed with my first visit here. I got the everything cheese bagel with plain cream cheese and the bottom of the bagel was so severely toasted it was almost burnt. Even the top was pretty crunchy but was a lot better than the bottom part. Line moved pretty fast and we got our bagels within 10 minutes of ordering I'd say. We got in like around 10:50am on a Saturday and spent about 10 minutes in line, so not too bad. Plenty of parking as well! Seems like a cool spot tucked into the crieve hall community so I'll come back to try again. read more
