One of the few coffee shops in the area that opens before 7am (6:30). I've popped in many times to grab a latte and used their order ahead as well. Both are quick and efficient options. They have parking right out front. Many people seem to work from here, so the tables stay somewhat crowded. I've seen people have meetings here and it seems like a decent place. They have a conference room as well you can rent. I've tried the pastries and they are very average. I'd pop across the street for food & pastries. Overall, a solid & fast coffee spot. District has been a staple in our coffee visits for a while now since it's relatively close to where we live. The baristas are always super kind and helpful. The establishment is always clean and well kept. I would say it's more of a coffee shop for people to work rather than to really hang out/relax. I haven't tried their food so this review is simply based on their coffee alone. I really want to like the coffee but it is always inconsistent. I would say every 5th time it's good but the other 4 times the espresso tastes burnt and is super milky. I just don't know for the price also if we can keep returning for sub average coffee. read more

Tucked in amongst the industrial complexes in South Nashville just off of the busy Thompson Lane, District Coffee offers a chill refuge for those seeking a quiet coffee for one, or a space to co-work or socialize with a group. It took me a few years to make it to District Coffee, and now that I have made it, I can't stop going! I am a classic coffee shop guy, and a classic iced coffee guy, so the simple pleasures meet a simple space when I pop in here. While I love sampling their seasonal flavors, they always create magic no matter the season, I normally go for the cold brew with a splash of almond milk and an addition of the sugar free vanilla syrup. Simple perfection! They have a good-sized food menu with several items from meat pies, sandwiches, waffles and even tots. I have had the loaded tots, and while an odd combination with coffee, they were quite tasty! My usual is a pastry of some kind, whatever catches my eye in the case when I get to the counter is what usually ends up on my plate. The space is well laid out and features a few spaces that each have their own vibes from the small tables for those working or studying, to the window counter, the backroom with a communal table and a couch and they even have a boardroom that is rentable for those super official meetings. I normally tuck myself in the backroom, in one of the plush side chairs and hang out for a bit. Service is okay here, honestly probably my only critique. Level of service is definitely the least consistent in my visits so far. Never enough to keep me away, but definitely enough for me to notice. Overall, I am a fan of District Coffee, and when I find myself cruising around this part of South Nashville, you best believe I will be swinging by. read more

I'm becoming a regular here! The coffee is top notch, the baristas are incredibly friendly, service is fast, and they have Loaded Tots. Need I say more? I can always expect the best when I come in. The space is filled with warm, natural light and there are plenty of places to sit, plus a super comfy couch. It's a great spot for some good coffee and coworking. Crispy tater tots, bacon, green onions, cheese, and sour cream) are never a miss. They're perfect to share (or not). My current favorite seasonal drink is the Sugar Cookie, but I still think about The Great Pumpkin from the fall menu. I may or may not be counting down until it returns. District is a hidden gem in South Nashville. I recently realized how close it is to me, and now I stop by whenever I can. Their new menu is great especially the loaded tater tots topped with scallions, crispy bacon, and sour cream. So good. The coffee is always consistent and high quality, and the baristas are friendly and fast, which I really appreciate on busy days. Visited this week for a Yelp Event and absolutely loved it! District Coffee is such a great spot to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and a light bite. I tried the pumpkin spice latte, the Garden Tots (with avocado, sprouts, and pickled onion), and the Caprese sandwich, everything was great! The staff were super friendly and welcoming, they explained me the menu, specially the seasonal drinks! The space has a warm, welcoming vibe, perfect for catching up with friends or getting some work done. They even have meeting rooms available for rent, which is a nice bonus. Good coffee, friendly service! I went for my second time last week, bringing some friends to try it out. We took over their conference room, which was a fun space for a large group. I'd say the coffee is good. It's not my favorite in Nashville (Surefire is) but it's decent if you're in the area. The farm fresh tots are amazing. Sadly, I really wanted avocado toast but their bread Venmo had not arrived yet that day (not their fault, still a bummer!) They have parking out front! read more

Stopped in after hearing some great things and definitely have to agree. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Asked for their recommendations and I have to say they were SPOT ON. I ordered Linus' blanket (maple latte) and their avocado tots. Absolutely would recommend. I wish I had more time to eat there because it had a really cool vibe to it. My team from work was looking for a place to meet that was easy and convenient and didn't cost a fortune. District Coffee was the perfect blend of casual and professional. The room was comfortable for 10 of us (that is the max capacity). We brought extension cords for our computers and made ourselves at home for the day. Everyone found a coffee and/or pastry to enjoy in the morning and then we also had lunch there. Sandwiches and tots were tasty. District has been my go-to coffee place for years. (I visit two or three times a week.) But the last two visits the coffee was undrinkable both with milk added and as cafe au lait. It has a nasty metallic undertaste. But charging $4.85 for a 12 ounce drink is unconscionable. I am giving them one more chance. read more

Overall reviews looked good so I decided to try it out. The service was very friendly, food and drinks were satisfactory. During my meal I was sat on the booth area of the restaurant enjoying my meal when a roach starts crawling all around my seating area and possibly on my food but I did not stay around to find out. Since the new owner took over, everything has improved. The food menu has been enhanced, and the dessert section is much better with fresh, well-prepared options. My favorite coffee, espresso, and cortado, are among the best in town. I can't wait for Sundays when they start opening up in the future! There is plenty of parking, and the place is very clean. I love it here! Take it from someone who spent over 2 hours here, working, on a Friday. I am very appreciative of the wifi, plugs, coffee, food, and drink selection. They have such great spaces for working, visiting, and chillaxing . The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I got a drip coffee, lemon glazed berry muffin, and sausage quiche. Talk about being in a dream! Delicious! The coffee had notes of chocolate and cherry. The music volume and selection is literally perfect! It must be the acoustics but I didn't need my earbuds at all because the Espresso machine, visitors talking, or other noises did not echo and crash over me as I was working. Cool little coffee shop that is a great option for working, with lots of power outlets all around, a good amount of seating, and fast WiFi. The coffee was really good, as was the tea (my wife had the Madagascar Vanilla Rooibos tea), The staff behind the counter was friendly and helpful. The place was well-maintained and clean. They have some good snack options, many skewing toward breakfast but some other good food including savory pies. I had the Ham, Bacon, Egg & Cheese Savory Pie, which made me feel like I had been transported to New Zealand. That makes sense since the savory pies are provided by Kiwi Kuisine, a local business that bills itself as making New Zealand style savory pies. Wow wow wow. Coffee shops are something I take very seriously when reviewing, and this place deserves all the stars I have to offer. I went early afternoon, hoping for a slight pick me up, and what a pleasant surprise when I get one of the best cups of coffee I have had in a long while. Now this place is very easy to get to, with its own parking, and a great inside space. This is a place set up for either coworking, with a full conference room styled space, as well as single seating and a cozier back room for those who are meeting with friends or are looking spend a while with a nice warm cup of coffee. As for the food and pastries, I got an almond muffin to go, and a latte for myself as well as one for my boyfriend who was back at the hotel working. I think we both needed a delightful drink, and these were perfectly satisfying. I am always weary of getting things that are just too sweet, but I am delighted to say, the seasonal one I picked after the amazing barista told me that they do not overdo their flavorings. This cafe is notable for its New Zealand ownership, but I was greeted neither with a smiling "Kia Ora" nor a deadpan joke accompanied by a slit-eyed stare, so I question its authenticity. They offer NZ-style savory pies, but not sweet ones, and I found their selection of flavors quite disappointing in comparison with other such pies I've had. However, as negative as I'm being to start, what I did get was very good. My chai arrived with a bright spicy aroma that seemed like it maybe included turmeric and black pepper, but plenty of sweetness and a complex flavor that was good to the last drop. Thumbs up on that. And the triple berry pastry I got, while not a pie, was delicious. The place seemed very geared towards being a business meeting space and was quite well attended by business-y looking people even on a Saturday. I wanted to like this place, and after reading the reviews I was excited to try this coffee shop out. My friend and I came on a Sunday afternoon. It appears to be a popular co-working space, and extremely quiet and cold. There is low music playing, and though there were many people inside, no one was talking to each other. My friend and I felt pressured to whisper because a normal volume conversation seemed too loud. I ordered a white chocolate latte which had zero flavor. If you get this drink, maybe try it hot and not iced. My friend ordered the chamomile tea which she said was "ok". I ordered a peanut butter and chocolate roll, which would've tasted better if it was heated up, but it was served cold. My friend bought a pre made and packaged quiche that was also served cold, but she requested for them to heat it up, which they reluctantly did. There is plenty of seating inside, so if you're looking for a very quiet place to work then check this place out. This place didn't leave a big enough impression for me to want to return. read more

I was visiting Nashville and after searching for a local coffee shop I decided to give District Coffee a try. It was pretty busy and the interior had a clean and modern vibe. I placed my order for their seasonal Honey Lavender latte with an almond milk substitution. After waiting for awhile and other people who came after me receiving their drinks, a barista came up to ask what I had ordered. I shared my order and after a few minutes it was finally ready. I get that things happen, but they weren't slammed and seemed more interested in chatting with each other than making coffee. That said, the latte had a good, mild lavender flavor. Wow, this place is like a Tardis. Way bigger on the inside! I popped in here while running a few errands and was surprised at how much space there is to sit and get some work done. I went with the cold brew and chocolate chip from Christie's Cookies. The cold brew was delicious and very smooth. I added just a splash of oat milk and I was caffeinated heaven! The cookie was great, super soft and flavorful... I wanted another one, but got out of there before my will power gave out. As a matter of fact, as I snacked on my cookie, a customer walked up bought a second cookie stating "these are his fave dessert in the pastry counter!" District Coffee is one of my go-to coffee shops in the vicinity of where I live. It also has a special place in my heart since my realtor and I sat and wrote my offer letter for my house here (which got accepted!) so I suppose I will always have good memories of this coffee shop. I like their seasonal coffee drinks like toffee latte although I've never gotten anything to eat but it always looks and sounds good. It is a spot which you can certainly get coffee to-go but it also offers a nice space to work or to catch up with a friend. In COVID times I'd say they're doing a good job with the precautions as well. The employees wear masks and the tables seem clean and spaced apart.
