I love that this place is queer friendly. I drive past it but had never stopped by. It is very spacious inside and has parking in the front and back. I went here with a couple of friends. l and didn't feel like I was struggling to talk over other conversations. So it's a a good casual meeting space. I got the seasonal coffee and didn't enjoy it. I ended up adding some simple syrup to try and cover the flavor. My friend got the chai and it was very watery and milky. I got a little bit more tea added after she drank some down but it wasn't very concentrated.

This is by far one of my favorite coffee shops in the Madison/East Nashville area. Everything is made to order and tastes amazing! Even when busy that staff is kind and serves with a smile. There are plenty of seats to works from, whether alone or in a group.

The coffee is good! I really enjoy my vanilla and raspberry iced latte, the maple latte is VERY strong with hardly any maple or sweetness but the coffee is still a good flavor and not too bitter or acidic. The pastries leave a bit to be desired, they're 90% puff pastry with hardly any filling, the chocolate croissant isn't really a croissant. The flavors aren't bad, and the texture is great, they're just really lacking. Also we ordered delivery and the drinks didn't come with ice? This wasn't specified anywhere and we didn't request it, it prevents the drinks from getting watered down but if we didn't have access to our own ice I would've been super disappointed, so I just wish this was atleast advertised upfront. it wasn't a bad experience but we'll definitely be trying out other places in the area before returning.

I love visiting various coffee shops around Nashville while I have some work to get done. Madtown Coffee is good for doing just that! The coffee is great, the service is great, and the baked goods are out of this world - not to mention the ambiance and cute décor, like the Scrabble tile menu board. Have been here a couple of times now and will be back!

Met up for some coffee and pastries in anticipation of a snow storm. This place was cozy and warm. Only complaint is the use of paper cups when dining in, when it wouldn't hurt to serve a hot beverage in a ceramic mug. My pastry was warmed up but a little cold in the middle. Service was good though. Music was playing and allowed for a chill atmosphere. Art posted on the wall was pretty cool. Two were of Jeffery Epstein, it's fair to offer a trigger alert if you're like me. I understand that art is being sold but it's a fair review of the place that it was slightly deterring over coffee. Plan on coming back for more because the raspberry cream cheese pastry was yum.

‍ Best breakfast wraps ever I'm visiting nashville, and I have been here twice in less than a week! The breakfast wraps (the tomato wrap) is so freaking good! Coffee is also great and the staff are stellar. This a great community space, and they also have an open mic night and trivia night. They have 4 outdoor dining tables with a bunch of seating inside. Very welcoming space for LGBTQ+ folks!

As a barista this coffee is legit! I got an oat milk latte and my fiancé got a cortado. Both were very good. The customer service was also phenomenal considering we showed up as soon as the doors opened. If you are in need of some good local coffee definitely try this place!!

Friends and I stopped by after just moving to Nashville last week and I think we found our go-to coffee spot! We all loved our food and gave it a 10/10. There are many coffee options, even smoothies, and a big food selection. Barista was friendly and very helpful with our decision-making process, which also turned out to be great recommendations. A very comfy environment. I would come here to do office work or even read a book while sipping coffee.

Such a great find! I take my daughter to the next door library all the time and when I showed up extra early, this was such a perfect treat! Lots of space to work or visit with friends, kid friendly with lots of fun board games, had vegan options which is LIFE for us with a kiddo with an egg allergy. Will be be back soon!

I ordered the Chicken Parmesan sub, and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The chicken was super tender, packed with flavor, and the sandwich was huge. I only made it through half and ended up eating the rest later that night. It was just as good the second time around. My wife had the Spicy Italian, and she loved it. The sweet pickles on it really made the sandwich stand out and gave it an awesome flavor. The atmosphere was really cool and felt very authentic. They also have a grocery section where you can buy authentic Italian sauces, pasta noodles, and other items, which was a nice touch. The only thing that surprised us was the fountain drinks being $5 each, but they do come in a souvenir cup. If you're looking for an amazing sub sandwich, I highly recommend Little Hats. The food was fantastic, the staff was friendly, and Germantown itself is a great area to walk around and explore. There are tons of cool places nearby. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Nashville. I'd give this a 5 out of 5 stars.

We got a number and had no problem finding an indoor table as it was hot out. The outdoor patio is very large though and this place can hold a lot of people. The food came out in 10 minutes or so and the fontina cheese went well with the spicy cherry peppers, which were unique to this sandwich. It also came with some potato salad. There was a self serve water station and you bus yourself.

It's a balmy 90-degree afternoon as summer begins its slow surrender in Nashville. Not that summer…read moreis actually ending. This is Tennessee. The heat will linger well into September. But this is the final week before yellow school buses reclaim the roads and wide-eyed freshmen descend on college campuses across the state. The rhythm of the city is about to change. With the windows down, I point the car twenty-five minutes northeast toward Madison and Shotgun Willie's BBQ. This place has been sitting on my radar for months. A coworker swore there was always a line and that when the meat was gone, the doors closed until tomorrow. No apologies. No second shift. Just the quiet confidence of people who know what they do well. Then it popped up again in the 2025 Nashville Michelin Guide as one of the city's local must-eats. That was all the convincing I needed. Shotgun Willie's occupies an unassuming strip mall storefront beside a bowling alley. The same bowling alley where, years ago, I watched a coworker's band play to a bar full of regulars nursing cheap beer and Friday-night ambitions. It feels exactly like the kind of place great barbecue should exist--far from polished, close to honest. There wasn't a line stretching out the door, but by noon on a Friday the cavernous dining room was humming. After a quick conversation with the man behind the counter, we settled on a brisket sandwich--no sauce--a cheddar jalapeño sausage, the much-talked-about queso mac and cheese, and a scoop of potato salad. The total came to less than $25, a number that would barely cover brisket alone at some of the temples of smoked meat in Texas. I wasn't about to complain. The brisket arrived sliced thinner than I would normally prefer. The bark was textbook Texas--coarse black pepper, salt, and just enough smoke to perfume the meat before each bite. But the interior never quite delivered on the promise. The texture and flavor reminded me more of brisket cooked in an electric smoker than one patiently tended over live fire through the night. It wasn't bad. It simply lacked the soul that transforms good barbecue into something unforgettable. The potato salad landed in the same category--perfectly edible, but generic enough that you could convince me it came from the deli case at Kroger. Thankfully, the meal had no intention of ending on a flat note. The cheddar jalapeño sausage was, without question, the finest sausage I've ever eaten. The casing snapped with that satisfying crack every barbecue lover chases. Inside, the meat stayed impossibly juicy while ribbons of melted cheddar oozed into every bite. The jalapeño brought just enough warmth to keep things interesting without bullying the sausage itself. Next time--and there will absolutely be a next time--I'll order two links, a stack of white bread, a handful of pickles, and call it lunch. The queso mac and cheese deserved every bit of its reputation, too. Rich without becoming heavy, creamy without drifting into gluey territory, and carrying just enough spice to remind you someone in the kitchen still cared. Best of all, it tasted unmistakably of real cheese--a surprisingly rare achievement in a world increasingly filled with bland, orange macaroni masquerading as comfort food. As I slid my tray into the rack above the trash can, I paused and looked back across the dining room. Would this be my only visit? Not a chance. When the Tennessee air finally cools and the first hints of fall creep into the hills, I'll roll the windows down, make the drive back to Madison, and spend the entire trip looking forward to those sausages. Sometimes a restaurant doesn't have to bat a thousand to earn a return visit. Sometimes one unforgettable bite is enough to make you come back.

I've been wanting to write this review because Chef's Market deserves so much more than five stars…read more My family and I have been coming here for years. We've celebrated family dinners, hosted business meetings, and made countless memories around your tables. Even after moving out of state more than 10 years ago, every single time I come back to Tennessee, my dad and bonus mom know that one stop is non-negotiable--we're going to Chef's Market. The food is incredible, and the cakes are worth the trip all by themselves. A few weeks ago, though, Chef's Market became so much more than a favorite restaurant. I got a call that my bonus mom had become very sick, and I rushed home to help care for my family. One day I stopped in to grab lunch and, of course, one of your amazing cakes to take back to the house. I was holding it together...until I wasn't. When the sweet lady behind the bakery counter asked which cake I wanted, all of the fear, exhaustion, uncertainty, and heartbreak I'd been carrying came pouring out. I couldn't stop crying. Without hesitation, she set the cake down, walked around the counter, and wrapped me in the biggest, most genuine hug. Not the kind of hug you give because you feel obligated--but the kind that says, "You're not alone." Then she prayed with me. A complete stranger saw my pain, held me tight, and promised she would continue praying for my family. As I sit in the hospital weeks later, I still think about that moment. I remember her kindness, her compassion, her gentle spirit, and the love she showed someone she had never met before. That hug meant more than she'll probably ever know. Chef's Market isn't just a restaurant with incredible food and the best cakes around. It's a place that feels like home. It's where my family has made years of memories, and now it's also the place where I was reminded that kindness still exists in this world. Thank you for feeding people in more ways than one. Thank you for caring. Thank you for reminding me that a simple act of compassion can carry someone through one of the hardest days of their life. You truly never know what someone is walking through. Your kindness made a difference in mine, and I'll never forget it. Unfortunately I have forgotten her name but I know she has beautiful black hair that smelled amazing!
