    butterfinger schmear bagel
    Richard V.

The newest spot in Mount Juliet is the Bagel Barn. Like many new spots it was super busy last time we tried to come so we returned. The place is small, with only one seating option is fine, more of a to go spot. I do wish they had a sign for the things they were out of and not have to wait until you get to the counter to find out after waiting. If you want a specific thing, you may want to catch them early. Service was fine, a little more to be desired but it is what it is. I got the regular bagel with the butterfinger schmear and it was okay? The bagel top was crispy and had a nice crisp when you bit into it. The butterfinger schmear was meh. The flavor was hit and miss between bites on tasting like it. The bottom part of the bagel was barely toasted and had more of a texture of a muffin than bagel and that leads to a massive mess when you got schmear vs spread. Bagel place only having three options is a choice. Overall, it is okay at best. The price point is fine at around 4ish dollars for a bagel with schmear but the bagel itself was mediocre. With several options in the area, not sure this one is worthy of coming back.

Bagel sandwich with sausage on an everything bagel

This is a new place in Mount Juliet that we just had to try. The place is small and cute and the staff is very friendly, I get the feeling the owners a well-known in the community because they sold out of some of the bagels by the time we got there. We ordered a bagel sandwich with sausage, the breakfast burrito with bacon and a beef tallow hash brown. The bagel is very fresh and the flavors are great, not too salty but also flavorful. The eggs and sausage are cooked perfectly. The breakfast burrito is good, but small. It could use more eggs and cheese and a bit less potatoes. The hash brown was perfectly seasoned and very tasty. We will come back to try more things, and if you want to order just bagels, they are excellent! And they have different fresh spread me as well!

So incredibly glad I found this local gem via Yelp! The entire experience was fast, extremely friendly, and the bagels are about as fresh as it gets. I asked the guy at the front desk what he recommended, and he absolutely steered me in the right direction. He suggested the berry mascarpone and the scallion cream cheese. Wow--excellent choices all around! The berry mascarpone has the perfect touch of sweetness, and the scallion is savory perfection. The freshness of the actual bagels (you can see the nice variety and perfect bake is unmatched. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! The shop itself is absolutely adorable. I didn't grab any indoor photos out of respect for the other customers inside, but it has a great vibe!

Everything bagel was heavily seeded- but has crushed red pepper......

A great new local spot for breakfast and lunch! Service and atmosphere: Great!!! Super friendly staff, and small but cozy interior. Only one table to sit and eat at. We loved the painted ceiling- it was a cute touch. Food: Good to great! The scallion cream cheese was so good. Very green and tasty- unique! The hash brown tasted good but could have been crispier- maybe the take out box made it a bit soggy? The bagel...... we got everything and a blue berry bagel. The blueberry was good and soft but didn't have a strong blueberry flavor. It was great. The everything bagel has crushed red pepper fakes on it. I've been eating everything bagels since birth, and as someone who is sensitive to heat, I've never once had to ask if an everything bagel was going to be spicy. This was disappointing to me. It may be a pleasant surprise to someone else. But if you order an everything bagel you should be prepared for it to be spicy. We will definitely be back to support this local establishment!

Great bagels, great sandwiches. I don't think I've had a bagel as fluffy as this before and it's awesome. Friendly staff, fast service. Place is very small inside so just be aware there it can get very cramped very quickly when busy. Got a half dozen everything, spicy cream cheese and the Charlie Daniels. 5/5 on all three! Can't wait to try more menu items and see what this place grows into.

They have a smallish seating area with a bar, plenty of space for a sandwich shop, and a big screen tv that was showing a Back to the Future movie. We ordered: - BLT (Thursday it is the Thursday special and comes with fries and a drink for $12) - Cheesesteak (obviously) with onions, with cheese wiz as the Lord intended - Mozzarella Jawns - I've never heard of that before but they're a very wide, sorta flatish cheese stick. I think they are named after an app from Bar Jawn in Manayunk (a Philadelphia neighborhood). Took it to go. It comes with house made chips and I ate those most of the way home. I'm normally not a fan of house made kettle style chips but these were great! Too salty for my husband but just right for me so your mileage may vary. The hot out of the fryer mozzarella and fries did not fare well on the 12 minute drive home but when I got to the house I popped them in the air fryer and they crisped back up to perfection. My husband had the BLT and he said it was delicious. The bacon was a little more crisp than he does it for himself but that's a personal preference thing. The tomatoes and lettuce were very fresh. As a BLT aficionado, he was a fan. The real star here was the cheesesteak. My husband said "this is better than the cheesesteaks I've had in Philadelphia" and he was not wrong. The meat was cooked perfectly, chopped and tender. Seasoned but not so much that the onions couldn't shine. Onions were browned and lightly softened, not soggy. The bread was delicious, soft and soaked in their homemade cheese wiz. Their cheese wiz? A national treasure. If I could order it by the tub I would and I'd never struggle to get my kids to eat their veggies again. It's that good. The whole thing was a 12/10. I have pictures but they're blurry because I couldn't sit the sandwich down long enough to photograph it so I'll rely on others for that. TL;DR - Go get a cheesesteak.

Customization is standard at most delicious, but it seems to be frowned on here. No chips or pickle spear served with the sandwiches, even at $10+ for a HALF sandwich. And they forgot about the fries we ordered - even after I reminded the chef when he delivered the sandwiches. Tasty food but very expensive and they sure didn't seem to care that they goofed up our order. Yes, they reluctantly reversed the charge on the fries, but somehow they seemed upset with us for mentioning the omission. Sorry, but at these prices we'll just go elsewhere.

Service was smooth and attentive throughout our visit. We started with the hummus, which came with fried naan--absolutely delicious and a great way to kick things off. The tea was fresh, and the fresh strawberry juice was divine. You could literally hear them juicing it in the back after ordering, which made it feel even more special--definitely a must-try! For entrees, we tried a variety of dishes. The pork ribs were very tender and well-seasoned, though they leaned more toward a Southern style rather than a Mediterranean herb flavor. Still very good! The Chicken Shawarma Plate was flavorful and perfectly seasoned, and both dishes came with incredibly tasty rice that really stood out. The Crazy Burger was HUGE and cooked and seasoned to perfection--definitely come hungry if you order that one. We also got a to-go recommendation from our server: the Santorini's Mixed Grill (lamb chops, beef kabob, chicken kabob, and kofta). WOW--he was absolutely right. It reheated beautifully, and everything was outstanding. The lamb chops were perfection, the beef was excellent, and the kofta seasoning was spectacular. Portions are massive--easily two meals per dish--so you definitely get your money's worth. We left full and already talking about coming back. Safe to say, we've found a new local favorite to add to our rotation. If you're anywhere near Mt. Juliet, Santorini's is well worth the visit

Am I writing a review for their always fresh produce, consistently impeccable store, and killer cereal selection? Normally, the answer would be yes, but my most recent visit here has me writing a review for their amazing customer service and money order station. I'm currently in the process of moving and along with that comes getting carpets cleaned, walls painted, and photos taken. Surprisingly, a lot of small local businesses still only take cash or money orders; I guess cash will always be king. So, when I needed a money order at 8am when my normal bank branch didn't open until 9am, plus a 40-minute drive, Publix swooped in to save the day. Kelly, who helped me out, was amazing. Admittedly I hadn't written a check or gotten a money order in quite some time and Kelly helped to walked me through it step-by-step. Duh, I know this is a very simple process, but she made me feel at ease and reassured me that this happens all the time. Shout out to Publix! I'm moving back to the West Coast, where as far as I know there isn't a Publix, within a few thousand miles, but maybe someday!

However my partner lives tomatoes and felt that Ronald's sandwich would have taken the win despite his generous application of cranberries.. Results.... A Draw. However, Hannah gets an advantage point for remembering the sandwiches code by memory. Do not let the review of the sandwich take away from the personalities behind the deli counter.
