Loved this little coffee shop we stumbled upon today after a hike. They have a ton of keto-friendly options: quiche, desserts, bagels and coffee as well as tea and non-keto options. The owner even gave us a sample of his loaded tea to try and it was delicious! Iced passion fruit was the flavor. Yummmm it was slightly sweet and really refreshing. I've gone to Billy Goat several times now and I always order the chicken salad sandwich on a croissant and a vanilla iced coffee. They are my absolute favorite thing on the menu but what really keeps me coming back is all of the events that they do. The owner, Bryan puts his heart and soul into the coffee shop and you can feel it as soon as you walk in the doors. Have definitely had mixed experiences getting my coffee. Barista are always super helpful, kind and courteous. Have had a less-than-ideal experiences with the owner. Between obviously sidetracking / flirting with the baristas, one time misunderstanding my order & not really knowing how to make my coffee, making weird comments towards the barista, myself and in general, I don't really feel comfortable returning when he's there. Vibes are good when it's just 1 or 2 regular baristas but I don't recommend the cafe to friends due to these weird run ins with the owner. The coffee as a product isn't even that good. Had the Gingerbread Spiced Mocha with less sugar and a keto Bacon biscuit. Can't say it's flavorful but for one that's on a keto diet, this biscuit may be heavenly. Tried the drive-thru for the first time and it was easy peasy! The workers here were all wearing masks and keeping the vibes friendly. Ordered the iced americano and the biscuit breakfast sandwich for the first time. It was delicious and I highly recommend! Huge pieces of bacon, soft biscuit and and fluffy eggs. You can't go wrong. Came here recently on a Sunday morning for some much needed coffee. I was pleasantly surprised by their fall and Halloween menu options and all their drinks were available in hot or cold. I ordered the poison apple latte since it was recommended by the barista. It was an interesting mix between a coffee and an apple cider. Definitely worth a try. We came here since we were in the area, but we won't come back. Service was good, although the first person to help us at the register was unable to answer questions about the menu. Overall, a clean place but they don't offer anything that makes it worth coming. Food was meh, not descriptive on the menu and most things come with no sides. The person who ended up taking our order was also the one who made our food, and she asked what we wanted on the sandwich, which included lettuce, tomato, mustard and mayonnaise. The sandwich came without lettuce, and there was so much mustard and mayonnaise that it was falling out of the sandwich in globs. The person also clarified how we wanted our drinks, which were fine, not good, and very milk heavy in comparison to other places. There is no music playing and no air conditioning. There are three fans though, which does add quite a bit of noise to the space. read more

I got a Cherry Chocolate latte & a cup of potato soup. Latte tastes sour like they've under-extracted the espresso. As for the potato soup, I understand I ordered to-go but for it to have chunks still frozen when I dug in just threw me off. Seems like a nice place...just may have been a bad day. read more

We actually do the drive thru and it is super great. My biggest issue with Billy Goat is consistency though. It has been great and other times not so much (we had cold food served to us a couple of times dining in, sometimes bland food, those sorts of things). It might depend on the cook that day but they have to get it together because this place is a gem. With that that said, I really like the breakfast croissant sandwich. The biscuits and sausage gravy is yum, and I really like the quiche (when served hot ;) I would skip the coffee and bubble teas. There are better coffee places locally. read more

I've been to Billy Goat several times over the past few months, and I think it's pretty cool. We don't have a ton of cafes in the area, so it's nice they have coffee and food and wifi. They have a decent amount of quirky seating, including one couch. The people at the counter have been different every time I've gone in, and more than once I've had to flag someone down to help me at the counter. They might just have high turnover or something? Not sure. The drinks I've tried are usually too sweet, but a regular black coffee suits me fine. It's decent coffee. I've had a few different food items, but I did like their huge biscuit. Most recently, I tried their spicy bacon & egg (I got it without cheese) on was interesting. In this case,"brioche" is a fancy word for "hamburger bun" and it came out steamy. The "Grilled Cuban Sandwich" is nothing like a Cuban AT ALL. This is some deli meat thrown on a couple slices of bread. Not even any mustard on it. Flavorless, stone cold, not grilled, wrong ingredients, missing ingredients, and it doesn't even resemble an actual Cuban. This is a cold, cold cut sandwich. They have bubble tea! They had a decent number of flavors though not my favorite (taro.) I got black milk tea with coconut. It was fine. I had it hot because I like the texture of the bobas better. I have to preface this with the fact that I've ordered here before and it's been good. Today, however, I ordered hash brown casserole which was flavorless and a huge room temperature block of cheese and butter. Pass. And my glazed croissant was grainy. Coffee however was on point and you can't go wrong with their drip brews. Breakfast croissant was ok. Employees are great. There are definitely better coffee shops in Mount Juliet. My wife and I do a coffee date every week. I have tried A LOT of places. I always get the cold brew so I can judge fairly each place. My grading criteria are 5 stars is perfect, no complaints, 1 star means I have NOTHING good to say, and 3 is average. Billy Goat squeaked out 2 for me simply because of price. It was only $6 for 2 drinks, a 16oz cold brew and a 12oz latte. Cheap, but unfortunately it tasted that way. The latte was bland, no real flavor, and flat. The cold brew was watery, also no flavor, and felt like it was just thrown together. They have some cool looking pastries and a fun vibe, but the coffee is simply not good. Overall, a below average experience, with bad tasting coffee, decent people but not overly nice, and a fairly cute vibe. I'll find other places for sure. 2 stars read more
