Elevate is a small but mighty coffee spot on Lebanon Pike in Hermitage that slings some of the…read moretastiest coffee out of a small shed style building with two windows that can be utilized as drive thru or walk up. I popped by after being in the area and Yelping coffee places, given the reviews, photos and proximity, off I went and in I pulled! Since I had never been, I decided to park and walk up tot he window, where I chatted the barista and landed on the Iced Peaks (Mocha). It features THREE different chocolates Including white mocha, dark and milk. I was a bit worried about the ole calories, and then was told I could get it sugar free with almond milk...and at that moment, they had a deal! I grabbed the 20 oz size and added a few cookies to my order as well. The Peaks was absolutely delightful and perfection! Easily one of the best tasting mochas I have had around the city! They have a solid variety of drinks, but the Specials menu has the tastiest. There are a few drinks I cannot wait to come back and try...The Honeymoon is next on the list! I really appreciated the variety of size options and the wide array of sugar free syrup options! Those two things alone would bring me back! Service was stellar. Both baristas were friendly and efficient. Pricing was a tad surprising, but not a deal breaker. For my 20oz iced mocha and two cookies, it came to around $16/$17. At that price point, it's a special treat when in the area, and I am good with that...it's worth it. Overall, obsessed at this point and excited for my next visit to Elevate!

How did I just learn about this local gem?…read more Fabulous place with AMAZING gelato! I brought home some fig and ricotta gelato. It is divine! I tried the Brio flavor (mulberry and lavender) and will bring some home next visit. I easily could have tasted ALL the flavors but I somehow managed a smidge of restraint. I ordered a cortado as well. Hard to find that on most menus. The espresso machine was beautiful and my drink was caffeinated perfection. And I could not make my exit without a couple of items from the pastry case. I bought the pistachio ricotta cake and the amarena cheesecake. All of this was for me and I make no apologies. The service was great. All my questions were thoughtfully answered. The best answer? All gelato is made in-house. There were sandwich and breakfast items also on the menu. I will have to go back to try those. Because I was on a mission. And my mission was gelato. Mission accomplished!

Apparently, not all the best bakeries lie within the big city after all. About 25 minutes out of downtown Nashville lying on the western periphery of Mount Juliet, BRIÒ makes a stunning array of Italian treats. Cannoli, gelato, waffles, crepes, milkshakes, sandwiches, you name it! Their gelato game is very strong! In fact, it's the highest rated gelateria on the entirety of Highway 70, one of America's longest roads that spans the country from Arizona to the Atlantic Ocean. With all that fanfare and these tremendous online ratings, I eagerly anticipated my visit. The mint gelato was tasty, maybe a little too minty for my preference despite my obsession with this flavor, but still delicious. However, it was the caramel pecan cheesecake that blew my mind! This is one of the greatest desserts in Middle Tennessee, properly firm cheesecake topped with candied pecans in a beautiful caramel sauce that accentuates every bite. This is life changing stuff!
