We have been coming here for a while now. Ordered a frappe this time. It consisted of sweetened condensed milk, espresso beans and chocolate chips. It is amazing! Not too sweet, just right. We have had their breakfast sandwiches & pastries as well & they are all delicious. Today we had the chicken salad on croissant bread. Delicious! The young man that helped us was very nice, friendly & attentive. We always try to pick up some amazing coffee & a quick bite to eat when we are in the neighborhood. I also appreciate their clean restrooms.

I love this cozy, quaint, sweet little coffee shop in downtown Springfield! My son and I stopped in late Saturday morning and expected it to be busy but we were the only customers there. The staff was kind, the menu is perfect for a quick bite or sip, and they even have a few local items for sale (I bought a hat!). Historic Perk, your Cuban AND Cortado are the Holy Grail of all that is coffee. Please please please pretty please could you come to Clarksville and show the folks here how it should be done? It is more than mere Java...it is a cup of morning dreams and aspirations....I'm over here inventing excuses to come to Springfield now, just to stop in and be greeted by your wonderful crew. The store is clean and cozy, the coffee incredible. I have yet to try your food but one day I shall sit in a corner with a good book, order a sammich and tell y'all to keep the Cortados coming... I am going solely on my daughters comments. She is a teacher at Krisle and Historic Perk delivered all the teachers lunch. THAT in itself is OUTSTANDING !!!!! We have had many salad spread from several places and her opinion is they are exceptionally good. She as well have had their coffees, and highly recommend them. We ordered a couple of sandwiches and they were pretty standard but nothing special. I placed an order and didn't receive all my order. She gave me one of the coffees I ordered and when I asked which 1 it was she said "yes". I looked at her oddly and asked which 1? Then she stated the second coffee I ordered. I thought it was odd and continued to wait. Finally after getting my food and not MY coffee (the first thing I ordered) I asked where my mocha was. She looked at me and said I didn't order that. It was the first think I ordered. She said to come back to the counter where she immediately helped someone else. I was PISSED and left. Best coffee I have ever had! The food is absolutely delicious, the environment is amazing, and the employees are always so kind and helpful. The syrups and food are all made fresh and in house. This place is not good, and that's me being kind. I have been here a few times and had a negative experience every time. The first time, I didn't pay a lot of attention to how my coffee was being made because I was looking around the building, which is really nice. The baristas, while clearly all teenagers, were pleasant. My coffee was, undrinkable. I have mad respect for people who try to source locally (even though Franklin isn't exactly local), but whoever is roasting their coffee is not doing a good job. It tasted like lemon dish soap, and my wife's was equally disgusting. We threw both coffees away. I know that we drink black coffee, so I have high expectations because it isn't covered in sugar and cream, but if your coffee is terrible to start, and you have to hide it to make it drinkable, maybe you need different coffee. The second time I went, I ordered a cappuccino with almond milk. While the barista was pulling my espresso, she used her BARE HAND to tamp the ground beans. The drink took over 20 minutes to come out, had that same lemon cleaner undertone, and I'm pretty sure that the barista used regular milk because I got sick later (or maybe that was from germs on her hand). The last time, I ordered iced coffee because they don't offer cold brew. So, I'm paying for yesterdays coffee that didn't sell, essentially, and I add a shot of espresso to it since it doesn't have as much caffeine as cold brew. Again, the barista (different girl, mind you) used her finger to level out the espresso, wiped her finger on her jeans, and put it back into the espresso. I know that the people who work here are nice, but they have absolutely zero knowledge of basic sanitation, and the coffee is awful. Anyone who has ever worked in a restaurant knows not to touch anything with your unwashed bare hands! Oh, and the "handmade" pastries are frozen Otis Spunkemeyer muffins, the kind that you buy from a gas station. And on top of all of that, it's the most expensive coffee in town! I don't know how these people are allowed to sell anything when they clearly don't know the first thing about food safety. If you're looking for a place where to relax and read some novels or whatever, this coffee shop would be the best. They have the best coffee available and even some fresh baked goods as well. The ambiance of this shop was so relaxing, and the staffs are highly capable and super friendly. The décor is on point with the historic part of the building its in on town square. great lightning and has a nook up front if you prefer natural light. Awesome super cute coffee shop in historic downtown Springfield. A must stop if you are in the area. I had the Cuban coffee and it was delightful. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Wish this was on my way to work, I would love to get my morning coffee there. Very clean establishment and the decorations make it a comfy enjoyable place to read a book while you have a latte. Asked about my day and had eye contact to help me believe they were listening versus just a passive conversation. She asked the manager if one of my beverages was available to be sure I got what I ordered. Assuming this item sells out fast. Waiting at a table for my order and had a stranger greet me and asked how my day was going before he left to his adventure for the day. Felt so natural and carefree. Then the same employee who had taken my order delivered my beverages instead of calling my name, thanked me, and wished me a wonderful day. It was a busy time and didn't have to go out of the way to do so. Didn't get to catch anyone's name but THANK YOU for your hospitality and service.
