We tried Larry's for the first time, and I was very disappointed. They advertise home cooked food, but the only food I got that you could argue was home cooked was the tomato and lettuce on my sandwich. The fried chicken sandwich I got was actually two frozen chicken tender pieces (that were still cold in the middle). The bun was from a bag, the fries were frozen crinkle cut, and when I asked for a side of ranch, it came in a packet. read more

The service was nice and quick for a Saturday morning. I ordered a veggie omelette with home fries and opted for a side pancake, instead of a biscuit or toast . The omelette was good, loaded with onions, green peppers, tomatoes and American cheese. The pancake was the best thing I ordered. It reminded of Cracker Barrel pancakes with a more homey feel. The home fries were blah. My partner gave their Country Ham omelette a 4 out of 5. I didn't see the cinnamon roll sign until we were exiting, maybe next time. read more

I give it a 5 star for service. However, the ambiance is not there. It's rather crowded with tables and chairs. The food is okay, at best. The prices are a bit high for what you get, in my opinion. The last time I was there I ordered the pork bbq... you get a lot of very bland pork. I had to ask for the bbq sauce. It didn't make it much better. The place is clean. But overall, nothing to really write home about. read more

I love to relive my past Southern life when visiting and one way is to visit a great Meat and three and Larry's checks all the boxes! Five of us had lunch on a Friday and were lucky to snag a large roundtop table. We went on Friday because catfish as well as limas are on the menu. These places all look the same as if I had stepped back into my childhood. This one is spacious, the staff are seasoned and on it, the vibe is happy and of course FRIENDLY and the food was great. My lunch consisted of three nice sized fried perfectly catfish fillets, greens, limas, fried okra, hush puppies and unsweet (iced tea). Food was fantastic! Great experience. Unfortunately we were only in the area a short time but I will definitely go again if in the area. The breakfast menu looked great as well. read more

Larry's is your typical southern locals breakfast/lunch spot. I love that they offer a drive thru for on my way to work. Their food is fresh and they make is so fast! I love their bacon egg and cheese on a biscuit! You can tell the biscuit is fresh and everything is so good! I would give them 5 stars but we are in the middle of a pandemic and not one person (employee, or patron) is wearing a mask. I know not everyone "believes in COVID" especially in Springfield but I would think the owner would at least have staff wear masks to show they care. read more

I love good Southern meat and threes. And I enjoy small towns and new discoveries. And Larry's is both of these. It told me something that I was meeting a friend here for lunch (she's the local), and wandering through the rather large dining rooms in search of her, I met Larry within about 3 minutes. The proverbial "How can I help ya, darlin'? Who ya lookin' for?" and we were already friends. At Larry's, you can sit down at a booth or table and a waitress will bring you a menu with the daily specials, or you can speed things up a bit and walk thru the cafeteria-style line yourself so you can see everything on tap that day. We opted to cafeteria-it so we could scope out that yumminess. In an unusual turn for me, my dining companion and I both opted for veggie plates. It's not that the barbecue chicken dripping in sauce didn't look good or the fried fish didn't smell awesome, just seemed like that kind of day to me. She had fried squash, fried okra, and greens - I opted for green beans, macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes. OK, look. I've been low-carbing it for a long time, so when in Rome... don't judge me. We both opted for cornbread instead of rolls. Before I get to the nitty gritty of the food, let me also say that I was treating my friend to lunch, and our two veggie plates with bread and one iced tea came to a combined total of $10.25. I stopped and made sure the cashier had rung both of us up thinking that couldn't be right, but it was. Buddy loved her fried squash, I was jealous I hadn't picked it, and claims their okra is also top notch. I don't do okra, and I try to judge meat and threes to some degree by their mashed potatoes so had to try that. Well, my veggies were OK, but not the fabulous-ness I was hoping for on par with say Arnold's in Nashville or even Pie Wagon. The macaroni and potatoes both needed salt, and neither was all that. The green beans were good, and the company was nice. The cornbread - oh my gosh the cornbread. Now the cornbread... that was worth the trip to Springfield by itself. Ever so slightly sweet, perfectly brown, moist yet still very much cornbread muffins. Yum. I ate two. And thought about going back, seriously. I figured if I skipped on some of my potatoes would that be allowed? The desserts looked really tasty, quintessential chocolate meringue pie, pecan, lemon icebox... all that wonderful stuff you'd expect in a small town meat and three. I can't attest to their taste, but I'm betting they're not a bad option if your caloric intact will allow. My dining companion proclaimed that their breakfast is really their calling card. If your schedule works out to be here in the mornings, don't miss it. In a rather surprising turn, I also noticed they have a drive thru. That's awesome - meatloaf, fried catfish, veggies, etc. all in the drive thru lane. We need that in Franklin! The outside of this building looks like a big ol' log cabin, but that's not carried over inside. Nothing fancy about the place, and that includes the price - so I'd vote give 'em a try. read more

This is very much a "Home Town" place. Local feel and great food and service. I had the veggie omelet, home fries and biscuit (pepper gravy) with a drink, all for $ 8.50. Very good price. Service was quick, friendly and no problems. Portion size is good but not huge. I will try their lunch menu some time later if lunch is as great as their breakfast. read more

I've dined all over the world and I'm blown away by the speed, consistency, and quality of the food every time we eat here. Larry runs a tight ship. Service is always friendly, and the place is spotless. Larry himself stops by each table to say good morning and shake your hand. I always feel like I'm a guest in his home. Old school manners. Larry's was recommended by U-Turn Lavern. We thank her for steering us there after being on her talk show several weeks ago. I had never seen a place with the two opportunities that they have for obtaining your food. You get to go through the buffet line and eat on one side or on the other side you may order from the menu. The wait staff was really great. There was a great variety from which to order on the menu. The prices were good. However, I had an omelet with a pancake which I appreciated this option, but my omelet with bacon was over cooked and dry. If you are in the area, do try Larry's. You will more than likely enjoy to trip and order something you will enjoy. read more

Great meat and three with crazy fast drive thru up until 2pm. So remember when Nashville had most only meat and 3 place. Well apparantly Larry never got the memo about the Hipsters. This place rocks the main dish and don't forget about desserts. What is the best part is that everything we ordered was amazing and DON'T FORGET THE FRIED SQAUSH. Hot and tasty and really tasty. Best sweet tea and desserts we have had in a longgggg time. Hankering Catfish, yep? Really good Fried chicken, Meatloaf, Roast beef so good you want to stomp your foot to alert your neighbors. Seriously when you are used to getting some home made food and then it goes away, you appreciated how wonderful Larry's can be. The interior...well a little worn, but...that is what it is. Came to Larry's with family for a good ole fashion meat and three. Service was quick and friendly. Our choices were salmon patties, kraut and winners, vegetable plate, and ground round steak. All of these were served with assorted veggies. Along with corn bread and rolls. Everything was delicious and cooked just right. This is a great place for some really good food. read more

We've eaten breakfast here many times and I rate that meal a Five-Star every time! It's great food, well prepared, served in a timely manner and at a very reasonable price. It was that background that led us to stop by for a Saturday lunch as we were passing through town. We were expecting a lunch equivalent to a great breakfast! Did not happen! Service was still great, friendly and timely! Atmosphere was still "old-shoe" comfortable with chats with folks at neighboring tables coming easily! What was a disappointment was the food itself! It was NOT that breakfast goodness quality we were expecting at all! My Steak with Gravy special of the day was NOT special at all! In fact, it had all the charm of an opened can of Dinty Moore Beef Stew from a local grocery store! It reeked of a portion pack lunch which is at best, canned institutional food. AND, it was a portion that would have left a Weight Watcher begging for more to be satisfied! My fried squash was Luke warm at best and should have been returned to the kitchen for warming! On the other hand, my wife ordered a hamburger steak and without doubt, was a great choice! We will be back for our social time with friends there, but it will be for breakfast where we can enjoy the quality we have come here for! read more

When simple is what you want head to Larry's! Where I live in Nashville there is a larger ratio of froo-froo (which I love) restaurants vs. hometown diners. I have family up this way so we decided to go to Larry's for breakfast. I forgot how much I love the country meat and three type places. They have a standard breakfast menu with pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc- but I was impressed that they made egg white omelets! I had a veggie egg white omelet with biscuits and homefries- they were delish and so light and fluffy, you must get them. The total was about $7 for my meal and I did not leave hungry. Staff is all sweet and it was fairly busy on a Saturday morning but there's a good amount of tables and a drive thru! read more

There was a mix-up in the food as served which caused some misunderstanding. The wait staff kept talking about it and us until the owner came to our table and told us to drop it in a very loud voice. And them went to another table and was saying how he had Jesus Christ in his heart and knew what was right. I told him he should let him out so people could see him.
