Had a great experience with this restaurant! Me and my husband had breakfast here and everything was absolutely amazing and reasonable prices. Their cinnamon cream syrup was absolutely delish! I left my purse at the table after breakfast and didn't notice until the restaurant had closed for the day and we ended up getting ahold of someone and they came to open the doors for us so I could get my purse to make my flight at the airport later the same day! The wait was worth the while... about 30~ mins or so. They have their system down, they're pretty fast and efficient with their check in and check out process. I'll start off by saying I'm not the biggest fan of pancakes, nor cinnamon and have to be in the mood for both. Today happened to be the day. I tried their pancake sampler, with cinnamon, Caribbean and banana bread pancakes. They were all good, fluffy, airy and flavorful. Banana bread with their maple syrup, Caribbean with cinnamon. But, their cinnamon pancakes were amazing!! Those were definitely the winner!!! Best pancakes I've ever had. Their three pig omelette was pretty bomb as well. I got some of their sausage gravy on the side, to douse the omelette and that was definitely the move there. I think this is the first time I didn't need to use cholula for flavoring. The location is centralized, set up nicely, with huge open indoor space with plenty of seating outside. The service was great as well. Attentive and fast. All in all, I wish I had the time to come here yesterday, so I could try something different today. But, I took the place for everything it had and it definitely delivered. In Nashville for the Chris Stapleton concert and our Uber driver recommended Pancake Pantry, and since it was literally next door to our hotel, it felt like fate. We showed up early enough to beat a line around the block, and for a brief moment I thought we'd hacked Nashville. Then we asked our server for a little "insider" help narrowing down the menu... and got the kind of vibe that said, "How dare you not know our menu inside and out?!" Not rude-rude, just clearly annoyed that we had questions. Not the end of the world, but it set the tone. We landed on the breakfast sandwich on a croissant and the Grilled Cook's Medley (skillet situation with toast). The sandwich was a miss: the croissant tasted like it came straight out of a bag, and the whole thing was so bland and unexciting that we didn't even finish it. The skillet was slightly better, but still pretty plain...barely seasoned, and it had slices of cheese melted on top instead of shredded like you'd expect. We didn't finish that one either, which is saying something because I'm usually the "I'll eat it anyway" person. But hey, this is Pancake Pantry, so surely the pancakes would save the day, right? Unfortunately... no. Both pancakes came out lukewarm and not really light/fluffy like a great pancake should be. The sweet potato pancake was the better of the two and oddly was actually best without syrup. The cinnamon roll pancake had nice crispy edges (credit where it's due), but it came with a cinnamon syrup that was way too sweet considering there was already a sweet drizzle on top. It turned into sugar on sugar crime. I wanted to love it, especially with all the hype and the convenience factor, but this ended up feeling like a spot that survives on reputation and location. Five stars for service and location! Our waitress was so wonderful, friendly, and funny. She made the experience worth it! All the waitresses on the patio during Mother's Day breakfast were phenomenal, and I hope they get recognized by the management. The patio is decent - but it's very cramped. Nice shade though! The food came out quick and was decent but I wouldn't say five stars. My husband got the breakfast tacos, and they were flavorful. The other ding is the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. The Pancake Pantry was only a short walk from our Hotel. The business (but maybe not the building) has been around since 1961, and it certainly appears to be a popular part of the Nashville Breakfast culture. By the time we were seated (after a short wait), there was a line out the door, and it was only mid-week. Our meal was very good. Gayle started with a lightly tinted orange Mimosa (just she likes it), while I went full OJ. Our coffees were good and refilled promptly. We both had pancakes (of course) with our choices, of which we both found them to be light and fluffy, accented well by their maple syrup. With that, I chose poached eggs with sausage, while Gayle opted for a Rolled Omelet with bacon, pepper jack cheese, and spinach. It was all delicious, except my eggs came out a little running, even when I asked for "poached hard". The dining room was pleasant and with a lot of natural light. I ordered the chicken fried steak, which came with eggs, hashbrowns and pancakes. The chicken fried steak was one of the best I've had. The coating was light and crispy, the sausage gravy was thick and flavorful. The hashbrowns were excellent. They were thick but still crispy and perfectly heated all the way through. I also ordered a coldbrew coffee with salted caramel and cold foam. It was smooth and delicious. The waitress also brought us a cinnamon syrup/topping that is for pancakes but can be used to flavor the coffee as well. It was sooooo good and elevated the coffee. This restaurant is well worth the wait and was the best food that I had in Nashville during my day. My friend and I came on a Saturday morning and had to wait about 30 minutes on the line. The ambience was nice and simple. The food took a while to come out, but was well worth it because it was made with love. The French toast was fresh, and the peaches were made with fresh peaches instead of canned ones. The compote was not too sweet and well balanced. The turkey sausages were very tasty and the eggs were good. The hot chocolate was a bit sweet but well-made. Typically not a big fan of flapjacks, but I had to see why people felt compelled to wait outside in the 20 degree weather to get in this place. They opened at 6:00, and my hotel was right across the street, so I was outside when they unlocked the door (still, second in line). Ordered the pancake sampler and choose blueberry, apple walnut and and a cornmeal Mexican kind of thing. That cornmeal Mexican kind of thing came with a kick ass salsa and sour cream. The perfect savory to the other's sweetness. Got a side of scrambled eggs, too, and a coffee. The presentation was top notch. The taste, well, they tasted like pancakes. At least the two fruit ones did. And don't get me wrong, they were good, but they were pancakes. Walked in an hour before closing on a Monday. We are from out of state and this place was on our go to list. Good thing we did not try to get in during the weekend because we hear it gets packed. They had a lot of different flavor options that were hard to choose from but the best part was being able to order the sampler so I could try three different styles. The chocolate chip came with so many chocolate chips on top that were all melted so it was more of a thick chocolate spread. It was very good and rich! The sugar and spice was basic but still so good. The sugar and cinnamon on top along with the cinnamon cream syrup was the perfect combination. The Pancake Pantry has been open since 1961 in Nashville! All of the pancakes are made fresh daily! There are 23 custom made variety of pancakes available at the Pancake Pantry. If you're looking for alternative options, you can get eggs and omelets, waffles, sandwiches, salads, and so much more! There are two different Pancake Pantry locations in Nashville. There is a Downtown Nashville and a Hillsboro Village location. I ended up going to the Downtown Nashville one as it was close to the hotel where I was staying. The hours are from 6:00 A.M to 2:00 P.M, daily. For parking at the Downtown Nashville location, you can park at the Hyatt Centric Hotel or other nearby public parking lots. A lot of these lots do offer complimentary parking for the first hour! I ended up ordering some plain pancakes. The service was great! The order came out fast! The pancakes were light and fluffy. Went during the week, the line was at a minimum. Got the cannoli pancakes which was a special for the month and the cinnamon roll pancakes. Came out in a decent amount of time. The texture of the pancakes was just right, pillowy, the cannoli pancakes had a ton of chocolate chips, the filling would have been better if it tasted more like cannoli with a mascarpone taste. The cinnamon roll pancakes were the winner, those tasted fluffy, the cinnamon taste with the icing was just right. Would definitely visit again read more

Date of visit: March 17, 2025 I had heard good things about this place from both my fellow Yelpers as well as the tour guide from our food tour earlier in the trip. It's known for having long lines though we were very fortunate early on this Monday morning, we were able to get in and get seated immediately! Melody was our server and she was great throughout the meal, from the hot coffee (and hot maple syrup!!!) and healthy portions of to go containers as well. The two kinds of syrup was a nice choice, though when you serve the maple warm and the cinnamon room temperature, whoever is going to want the cinnamon? My banana bread pancakes (hold the pecans, but not the butter--holy hell that's a lot of butter) were fantastic. I could smell the banana before the plate was even in front of me, but they weren't so sweet that they gave me a toothache, which was a pleasant surprise. FOOD I visited Nashville from the West Coast, and a lot of the hotel breakfast spots in downtown closed early... and were overpriced. I'm glad because it shepherded me towards the Pancake Pantry! This staple since 1961 (I believe that's what it said) has a "camping" theme on the walls and windows as well as some camping themed items for purchase such as coffee mugs, hats and shirts.
