I guess they are having an air conditioning problem because they had a machine in there spewing cold air and lots of noise, which wasn't a great atmosphere. You order at the counter and take everything with you. I ordered a "filled" pastry and a small cappuccino. The pastry wasn't filled with a filling, but with air and a small amount of chocolate at the bottom. My cappuccino was so light I thought it was empty. It was only 1/3 full of coffee and the rest was all foam. Not a good way to start my morning. read more

I visited this cafe on Wednesday 04/22. My teenage son notified the staff member at the counter that he has a sesame and nut allergy and sought some guidance on which food items that he should possibly avoid on the menu. The staff member reacted like he had never heard of a sesame or nut allergy before and he was being passive aggressive while being polite. He said that "never in his career had he heard of such a thing" My son did not immediately pick up on the words and the man was using and I urged my sons to leave. We ended up going to down the street and having a great experience at another restaurant. The experience was disappointing and would say the staff member is a disgrace. Delicious food with good service! I was in Nashville on vacation in July and stopped into the Corner Bakery Cafe to grab breakfast prior to embarking on a long day trip to Lynchburg. The Corner Bakery Cafe is literally located on a corner in the heart of downtown. In fact, it's very close to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Upon walking in, I was met with a clean and brightly lit establishment. It seems to be a fast-casual restaurant that offers items that you can either enjoy on-the-go or sit down and indulge. If I had to compare it to place, I'd say it felt very similar to Panera bread. The menu featured a host of different breakfast sandwiches including panini's and a wraps, as well as pancakes, oatmeal, and breakfast bowls. They also offer a variety of coffee, special juices, and baked goods. It seemed like something for everyone. I opted for the chicken sausage breakfast wrap and a bottle of orange juice. My order was ready within a few minutes. Aside from chicken sausage, the wrap contained scrambled eggs, cheese, some sort of roasted cherry tomatoes, and spinach, as well as side of green-chile salsa. When I received my food, I took a look and I was a bit confused. The wrap had grilled marks on it and appeared flat, so I thought it was a panini. I immediately bought it back and a staff member confirmed it was a wrap but it was flattened for easy transport since it was takeout, which I accepted. I don't think I had high expectations but I was pleasantly surprised with this breakfast wrap. It was quite delicious and fulfilling. Firstly, the chicken sausage was savory and tasty however, I would've rather had pork. Secondly, the scrambled eggs tasted pretty fresh, as if they were made from fresh eggs but they needed some seasoning. I added a little salt and pepper with success. Moreover, the tortilla was a tomato-basil variety which gave a rustic taste and I especially enjoyed dipping the wrap in the salsa which was mild and pretty smooth in texture. Altogether it was a good meal. The portion size was also great as I had enough for two servings. In terms of service, the staff were welcoming and attentive. Aside from being very convenient, pricing was reasonable. Most of the items on the menu were a max of $12, I believe. I would definitely return and further recommend it to others. First off, I felt like the staff got slammed by a bunch of people walking in at once, so the service/speed of food was affected. However, I would think that is normal for a Saturday. My mom and I ordered the avocado bacon bowl & our meals looked different, and they forgot the toast on mine. They also made the wrong wrap for my dad and forgot my mom's orange juice. I would like to try them again if I am in town, since I've heard so many good things about it. Wait staff were very nice. Was excited to find a bakery around the corner from our hotel. Angela, the cashier, was kind and hospitable. Unfortunately from there, our experienced declined. My daughter ordered a cinnamon roll, but despite having two pans sitting on the counter, they were out of icing - before 9am on a Monday. Instead she ordered a chocolate croissant which she said was too hard to bite. I ordered a latte, but the steamer wasn't working, they could only make a cold latte. My older daughter and I ordered turkey & cheese croissants, advertised as $3.99 on their menu, but then were told the sale went off and we were charged $8.69/each. On the bright side, the two turkey croissants were tasty, the croissant itself was what made the breakfast sandwiches. Ehhh my 4 star may be a reach! The personalities of a couple of employees influenced the 4th star. Ms. Angie and Megan are phenomenal and deserve all the praises. Ms. Angie has such a welcoming and radiant spirit upon entry. She was willing to assist in anything you needed while keeping the establishment nice and clean. Megan's willingness to assist and her overall personality was much needed this morning. The Anaheim panini was pretty good, but the oatmeal not so much. I have never tasted anything so bland and dry to have cranberries, nuts, and added sugar (sugar I added) in it. For a minute I wasn't sure if I was experiencing a tastebud malfunction, but my friend reassured me that It definitely lacked flavoring. I may give this another try in the future. read more

The food was amazing including the sandwiches and pastries. However, the lady taking our order never greeted us, and gave us attitude the entire time. She maybe said a total of three words the whole time. They forgot about my food and I had to go remind them and they said "oh shit we forgot". They were cleaning the lemonade machine but my sister ordered lemonade. Once the lady walked away from the machine after finishing cleaning it, my sister went to get some (as she should since we paid for it) they then continued to giggle and look at her as she did it which gave us the impression something was wrong with the lemonade. It was embarrassing for her to be looked and laughed at. The place itself was cute... small but cute. The only nice person there was the lady who was cleaning the tables. The food was decent--just your average breakfast, nothing to complain about there. However, the service was extremely disappointing. It's one of those places where you order at the counter, take a number, and seat yourself, which is totally fine. What wasn't fine was how rude the woman taking orders was--she acted like everything I said was a problem and had an unwelcoming attitude from the start. I didn't expect full table service, but I did expect to get the correct order. When there was an issue, I had to get up and find someone to help. I wasn't upset about the mistake--until I got attitude for simply asking about it. I even showed my receipt to clarify, and still got pushback. Pancakes had flavor, bacon was crisp and the eggs were fluffy. Fair warning the eggs came pre peppered and salted which was great for me but I know some don't like it that way. We went this am for breakfast and all day I've been thinking how mad I at myself for not saying something. Our breakfast was terrible and cold. I ended up eating my toast. We were charged for a large iced coffee but they must have been out of cups because I got a medium and my husband's was the same size and should have been a large. They were served in hot coffee cups which isn't a big deal but then she shouldn't have charged us that way. We aren't usually ones to complain but this was probably the worst food we have ever had there. We have gone to one in Chicago and it was excellent. read more

First I greeted her with kindness and then she responded with "what do you want to order". When trying to place my coffee order, I asked Faith if the "iced coffee" was just coffee because it said 0 calories and proceeded to ask if they had iced lattes because they don't have iced latte as an option on the menu. They have lattes under the hot beverages section but nowhere does it say you can get a hot drink iced. She rudely responded with "well do you want an iced coffee or an iced latte because those are two different drinks" I said I would like an iced latte but I don't see it on the menu. She responded with "it's right there on the menu" I said "no, there is an iced chai latte which is not the same thing" and I proceeded to order an apple and honey overnight oat entree. My husband and I were recently in Nashville so I could attend QuiltCon 2019 at the Music Center. We stayed at the Hampton Inn and I walked over every day plus walked all around the show. By the time I got back to the room, I didn't want a long walk for meals. Corner Bakery fit the bill perfectly. Located steps from the Hampton it provided us with a perfect lunch on Friday. I ordered a turkey and avocado sandwich which was terrific, I loved it and my iced tea. I followed that with a blueberry hand pie and milk. So soothing, what great comfort food.
