Came here for an impromptu birthday dinner for my aunt and was honestly really impressed. The atmosphere was very nice and relaxed with comfy booth seating. They had a small jazz band playing in the opposite corner, which wasn't too loud for conversation purposes. The bartender was very personable and our server Faith was a delight. My uncle heard her name wrong as "face" which was funny & when she brought a signed birthday card from the staff she had drawn a cute little face for her name. The card was a nice little gesture along with the banana bread dessert. Overall the food was excellent. I loved my time in Australia so always look for a reason to try a place that reminds me of it! I loved the vibe at this cafe and was met with many pleasant staff. I started with a phenomenal latte and pastry from dozen bakery. I love dozen but am rarely near their storefront and appreciated that they brought their pastries to me! I had a carrot cake zucchini muffin, though it seems they carry quite a few options from Dozen. For my main, I had a burger. As a former brunch server, I know how hard brunch rushes can be, and that made me a little nervous to make a reservation for ELEVEN people on a Saturday. But Two Hands and our server Faith had everything handled. Half of us were late and our server was very patient and kind. Once we ordered, the food came out after 15 min or so and everything was cooked to perfection. My half of the table got chili fries, the breakfast burrito, brassicas bowl, smoked salmon toast, and the harissa chicken bowl. Everything was cooked perfectly, beautifully presented, and seasoned well. My personal favorite was the brassicas bowl with added salmon, but the verde salsa that came with the breakfast burrito was outrageously good. I would put that on everything. You know how perfect restaurant food usually looks in photos and commercials? Then you find out the reason is because it's not real food. Every single item that was brought to our tables and the tables surrounding us looked like it was straight off of a commercial. The food here looks perfect and has such good presentation. Everyone at my table ordered the Big Brekky but added something to it. I ordered steak, my husband ordered avocado, and my brother ordered bacon. Two Hands Café never fails to impress as one of the finest breakfast spots in the city. Reservations are crucial, especially on a weekend, and I made the mistake of not booking one. Fortunately for me, I live nearby, so I opted for takeout. The bite - I ordered the Lemon Poppy Seed Waffle with mascarpone cream and bergamot maple syrup, along with Two Hands Crispy Chili Fries and Banana Walnut Bread with Espresso Mascarpone and Toasted Buckwheat, honey. The waffle was exceptional; it was tart and citrusy from the lemons, the mascarpone was light, and the maple had a refreshing flavor of bergamot (orange) that only added to the zestiness, cutting down the sweetness. The fries were a surprise; they were thin and extremely crispy, accompanied by a side of chili sesame oil that added a very nice flavor and a kick of spice. The banana bread is a star; it tasted fresh, dense yet soft and not crumbly, while the toasted honey buckwheat was nice and caramelized, adding a crunch, elevating the dish to a beautiful mix of textures. Still worth it without ambiance? The food is a star with or without ambiance. They were presented beautifully, even in the takeout box. The waffle came with a hue of yellow, garnished with edible flowers. Visually, too, the food was beautifully presented. Extra sauce? Everything I tried at Two Hands blew my mind; I still can't choose one over the other, and I recommend them all. The prices were reasonable. Once we were seated, our waitress was quick to greet us and take our drink orders. The fresh squeezed OJ was great, the coffee was forgettable. Our food came out within a reasonable time. It doesn't taste like I thought it would. The bread was dry and it did not taste anything like banana. We took a few bites and then left that alone as well. For mains we got the steak and eggs and the lemon poppyseed waffle. The mains were better than the starter. The side of bacon was the best thing we had which sounds crazy. The space inside of the restaurant is small, with chairs bumping into one another. It seems like this place is one of those trendy places that you should probably skip. We won't be back. It's on the pricey side to be a regular lunch spot - though the quality and portion size makes up for it. The bowl was gigantic, beautiful, colorful and came with lots of fresh ingredients - medium boiled egg, pan fried salmon, avocado, hummus, and quinoa. I especially loved the sweet radish pickles. The mushrooms were super salty and flavorful. I cannot speak for the service or ambience because I didn't eat in but the food was prepared very quickly and it looks like a beautiful space so I definitely do want to come in at some point :) read more

Packed but the wait was only around 7 minutes. They only had outdoor seating available but I saw a large indoor area being prepped. I'm thinking it was for a called ahead large group? Not sure. Understandable because it was so busy. "Partner" our waiter, tried to get us to order as soon as we sat down. He suggested I get the Breakfast Burrito, my wife and daughter get the Poppy Seed Pancake. Then he said "Is that what you want?" He did say this with a smile but when we said we needed a minute to decide, he said he would go get our drinks. It kinda gave the 'hurry up vibe'. I don't think this was a blanket policy, just the server maybe? The food, however, was really good. Be warned, on a Friday during brunch, it was packed and you will have to wait a while for your food. I actually understood and would rather have this because you know it is freshly made to order. The breakfast burrito with chorizo (optional add on) was big and hot. It was temperature hot and had a little kick to it as spicy hot esp when dipped in the tomatillo it comes with. It was super filling. You could actually split it for two and me, even being 6-01 210lbs, I would have been completely satisfied. My daughter got a hamburger and fries and she ate THE ENTIRE THING. This is rare for her. She said it was really good. My wife loved the poppy seed pancake. All in all, really good. Would have been a 5 star rating, just a few hiccups (not from the food though). Two Hands is one of my favorite spots to recommend to anyone looking for a delicious but healthy breakfast or lunch. Their menu is full of fun and flavorful dishes - and whatever you do, don't miss out on their Banana Walnut Bread. (Seriously, it's one of my favorite things in Nashville). I've dined at Two Hands several times for breakfast and lunch - and every time the service was excellent. This spot does get busy on weekends, so I highly recommend a reservation, especially if you have a large group. There are also lots of ways to customize your meal - many of their signature offerings are available a la carte. If you're a salmon fan, the Salmon Quinoa Bowl is going to be your new brunch go-to. Their coffee service is also great - and they have all sorts of floral lattes and matcha options. I have yet to visit for dinner, but I love that they offer a $49 pre-fixe menu! So my dining experience here was just ok as I was dining alone and there are no tvs to this dining experience. The service was great. I was cared for the entire experience. I ordered the berry smoothie and that was a great choice. I ordered the lemon poppyseed waffle with a side of bacon. The bacon was delicious. The interior of Two Hands is so aesthetically pleasing, super clean and fresh looking while still having a fun charm. We dined in for dinner the night of our anniversary, before going to the Frist nearby. We wrote on our reservation that we were celebrating, and mentioned it at the beginning of dinner. Our server didn't say happy anniversary at all, and definitely didn't offer any sort of dessert or toast for the occasion. I know it's a small gripe, but those little things really make special occasions special. The food was very good though, the corn and jalapeño fritters were our favorite bite of the evening, they came out piping hot and crispy. My vegetarian fiance loved the chickpea curry option, I enjoyed the pasta but was surprised at how lemony it was, just something to be aware of! So glad I finally got to try this brunch spot in the Gulch! My girl friend and I made reservations for 1 PM and we were seated pretty quickly at 1:05. Though the restaurant is on the smaller side, the space is used efficiently and the design/set up is so cute. Our server wasn't the most chipper, but she was definitely helpful in helping us choose things from the menu. We started off with the Espresso Martini and the Boozy Lavender Lemonade. The espresso martini wasn't the best, it could have used more cream, but the lavender lemonade was amazing. For the meal, we shared everything at our table. The steak and eggs wasn't bad. The steak was a little overcooked, but the hash brown and sauce for the salad helped a lot. The smash burger with a fried egg was really tasty and perfectly cooked. As for the lemon poppyseed waffle w/ mascarpone cream, I could eat that every day for breakfast. It was perfectly sweet and was a nice breakfast dessert. Overall I had a good experience. There is paid parking lot across the street, but if I had more time I would have looked for free parking. I've enjoyed both a casual business brunch and a fun dinner with family here, and both were memorable. Service was also very attentive. I love the availability of the $49 prix fix dinner, and the fact that they offer live music at dinner sometimes. But don't let that approachable, elevated-diner style fool you: the food is really good, too! I was impressed that they were able to accommodate a family member's complex dietary restrictions without batting an eye. Fresh, bountiful veggies are a stand-out throughout the menu.
