I had the mushroom appetizer and nearly choked/coughed to death. I like heat but this was raw spice that overpowered the dish. And the salt about made my feet swell into balloons. We placed our order for one large Onion Ring starter, two brisket plate meals, a Not So Naked Tater, two fountain drinks, and a water...it came to about $75.00 so I was really looking forwrd to some good portions and tasty food. It was clearly smoked, no doubt about that...but it didn't have as much smoke flavor as I was expecting. I was also a bit disappointed by the portion size. If my meal were a combo two-meat meal where brisket were one meat and maybe smoked sausage (which I found odd that they don't have on the menu), then the portion of brisket would have been suitable...but it was a single-meat meal with two sides. My sides of mac-n-cheese and corn on the cob were good...with the corn being the better of the two. Was also a bit disappointed that there was only ONE BBQ sauce offered at the table. I thought they offered a variety of sauces for sale at the counter, so why not showcase those same sauces at the table? I don't know...but it doesn't seem like good business to me. Overall, the service was fantastic, but frankly, I was disappointed considering the hype that surrounded this place when it came to Clarksville. Food was overpriced for the portions, likely won't go back.
