Food was okay but over priced and there was not a lot of selection. You could go somewhere else cheaper

Hello everyone, what can I say about my visit. we visited on…read morea Sunday and they are only open from 8-4 pm. We sat outside to wait for our name to be called. The area had plenty of seating that includes benches, bistro seating and table and chairs with umbrellas as if you were sitting in a garden with big beautiful elephant ears. The restaurant is in German town a nice residential area because this place use to be a big home. Please note you will be seated with strangers and if you have a problem with that grab take out. The prices are great for the tasty food. 17-25 dollars. Also a set menu and price for take out. They would like for you not to use your phone, while visiting so i don't have food pictures. Also by the time i placed all my food on the plate, I was like that won't look right to snap. I will make this comment and if you know you know.. "all those church folks were leaving and i was like ooh...i cant wait to taste and come out with a smile. Please look up the website to see what they serve; because it will be different at the table every day. However, on this day we were served tender roast beef ( well done) seasoned crispy chicken and ribs. Our sides were mash, greens, green beans and not thrown out of the can, chicken casserole, corn soufflé, gravy, biscuits mac n cheese ( peach preserve) corn bread. Cole slaw ( good) and cucumber salad both teas and lemonade or this punch just delicious. pecan pie or banana pudding. So between the good food and the meeting of new people with laughter. I came out stuffed and with a smile. Also no RSVP but worth the wait. If you miss that feeling of home or just want comfort stop by to be welcomed.

From the moment we walked in,…read morewe were greeted warmly and even offered a sample of their pork loin to see if our toddler would like it -- such a thoughtful touch. Throughout the meal, they checked in and made us feel truly taken care of. They even came by with fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies straight off the baking sheet and handed them out for free! The food itself was excellent. They offer great Southern favorites like shrimp & grits and fried chicken, but I went with the fried boneless pork chop. It was perfectly crunchy, full of flavor, and topped with a generous amount of delicious country gravy. Portions are no joke -- I only made it through half before I was stuffed. I did save just enough room to try the cherry pie, and I'm so glad I did. It was fantastic. I can't say enough great things about Local Joe's. The hospitality, the kindness, and the food all make it absolutely worth a visit.

I had been there a few years ago…read moreand didn't have the best experience, but it had been long enough so we gave it another shot. First, the service was attentive and quick. We went on a Tuesday evening and got there right before it got busy. By the time we were settled in, people were already waiting. The drinks were SO good. The Mezcal drink was delicious, but the gin drink was my favorite. It had a little sweetness to it, but don't let that fool you because it will catch you off guard. Very good though. We ordered the pork chop with mac and cheese and a salad, and the catch of the day which was scallops with corn risotto. The pork chop was huge, but unfortunately dry and could've used more flavor. The orange topping sounded good, but I wanted that flavor to come through more. The mac and cheese was a hard no for me. Too bland and runny. The salad and honey mustard were good. The scallops were a little overcooked but still good, and that corn risotto was probably my favorite part of the meal. So much flavor. Would we come back? Yes. The music was diverse and the atmosphere is laid back. Next time we'll probably try something more familiar because those burgers coming out looked GOOD, and I want to try the wings too.
