Who doesn't love the Depot? They have such a variety of options, so you can bring even the pickiest eater and find something they'll enjoy. It does get a little loud with the train tracks nearby, but the servers are always on the move, making sure every guest is taken care of. 2 people ordered burgers at our table--one well done and one medium well. My mother hasn't been able to eat beef for over a decade and was looking forward to a good well done burger. She fixed the condiments on her burger and the other person did too. they both picked their burgers up and took bites and mother's burger was pink on the inside. The other person was handed her well done burger. When the burgers were delivered I asked which was well done and the big guy thrust the wrong one as the well done! We won't be back. it was a special time as mother had gone through treatment for an allergy to beef and we had chosen the depot celebrate being able to eat beef again. We were lucky enough to get a table on the evening of the downtown Christmas parade on December 7th. This place is always hopping, so on such a busy night, we were very fortunate:) Our server was absolutely amazing! I wish I would have got her name. No garlic, Parmesan or any flavor really. Hated the chips. Too thick and hard. Fried pickle spears- started out good but the more I ate them the saltier the breading seems to get. Liked the sauce with those a lot. Also detected a string flavor of thyme Our server was great. The place was really busy (noon) as this must be a hot place in town. After an afternoon of antiquing at Springfield Antique Barn we had quite an appetite. At first we were intimidated by the crowd but it took us less than 10 minutes to be seated. The waitress was very busy but attentive and friendly. We tried the chips and salsa for an appetizer it was very good. Chips seemed homemade and hot. Salsa was chunky and had a nice herb flavor. The meal took way too long to arrive. Patti melt was way under done - they seared the frozen patty of chunk meat then assembled the sandwich- then grilled it on each half edge to make it look done. It was clear from my cutting into it - it was undercooked. I even cut it jn fours to see if it was just unevenly cooked to see if any of it was edible but no luck. Actually I've been here several times, just kept forgetting to review. I've never had a bad experience here. Service is always good; it does get really busy (because it's so good!) and you may have a wait, but it'll be worth it. Also realize it's "the depot" because it was originally a train depot AND there will be at least one train go by about 20 yards from the building so it will be heard!
