I have not had the pleasure of trying any beverages from Historic Perk, but I have sampled the dill chicken salad, poppy seed chicken salad, potato salad, Greek pasta salad, and pimento cheese. All of them were fantastic. Frankly, I do not always enjoy potato or pasta salad, and I never eat pimento cheese, but Historic Perk's offering of each left me wanting more. read more

This is the best local coffee shop around. Their coffee is organic and not bitter at all but first let me tell you what makes them different. When you walk in you get a sense of a true coffee shop. The feeling is very welcoming and the servers are so happy you are there. They are there to serve...I love their lattes with almond milk. They are excellent both hot or cold...you can tell that the community is supporting them because they are busy every time we stop by. This in itself tells one that they are doing something right. First two times I went for an iced coffee and espresso shots, which were unfortunately on the burnt sour taste, but in my opinion, you still need to try out the other items to really give a fair review. After a nice jog, figured out something cold would be nice, and whattya know, turns out my weekly drink from here is a nice cold brew with no cream or sugar. Springfield is really lucky to finally get a coffee shop that isn't fast food or gas station coffee. Definitely recommend this place for visitors and or locals. I also would love to see this place get a tower, chemex, or maybe have a few pour over options in the future. Food options look promising, so that will be the next thing to try out! The decor inside is very pleasing to the eye and has an open window for natural lighting. PS: The staff is wonderful! read more

Initially stopped as it looked like (from the pictures) they served Honest Coffee. They used to offer it but now roast their own. All-in-all, our lattes were good and the beans were roasted properly. I wouldn't hesitate to come back if I were in the area again. read more

I worked in the coffee industry for many years and travel ALOT around the country and world for work. I say this to establish the fact that, I know my coffee. 95% of the time, small town coffee shops have no clue how to actually pour a shot of espresso and properly build espresso based drinks. More often than not, I've seen small town shops literally use coffee grounds (even once out of a Folgers can) to pour espresso from. Crazy, I know. These folks though really surprised me. I grew up in Robertson County and have a couple clients here, so I'm in the area maybe once a month or so. The shop was closing early due to snow storm coming in, but they saw me turn away from the door and came out just as I was getting into my car to leave and asked me to come on in. The iced latte was perfectly built and tasted fantastic. Complaints: The gingerbread biscotti tasted very good, but was too soft, and wish they had Splenda. Other than that, I was extremely impressed and will visit every time I'm in RobCo. read more

I LOVE Historic Perk! I've had the Cuban MULTIPLE times and it never fails to be delicious. The Hibiscus Fruit Tea is also great! The staff and owners are fabulous and this is one of my favorite coffee shops. The coffee sleeves (located right beside where you pick up your drink) are super cute too! Overall this coffee shop is exactly what Springfield needed and I am so excited for this company to grow! read more

Historic Perk is just what Springfield needed! When I heard the coffee shop would be opening soon, I could hardly wait to try it out. It was definitely worth the wait! The atmosphere is very charming, inviting, and relaxing. There is plenty of room to sit and visit with friends while enjoying your coffee or tea. Their Cuban is the best I've ever had! Best coffee shop in the county! The Cuban is amazing, as is the Iced Cuban, the hot chocolate and the french vanilla cappuccino. Service is top notch, and the restaurant is clean, achieving a score of 100 from the health department. They make all their own syrups in house. You won't find better coffee anywhere else in town.
