Slim Chickens is my favorite restaurant of all time. I've eaten here more times than I'd like to admit. Their ranch is the greatest ranch I've ever had. I get a Chick's Meal every time I go. I always get honey mustard because it's fire. The side substitutions are all amazing (especially the fried pickles). I'm not a huge fan of wings but theirs are peak. Their handspun milkshakes are delectable. I'd drive an hour for a milkshake from Slim Chickens. And finally their glorious chicken tenders. Five stars for a fast food chicken spot? Am I high, drunk, or slowly slipping into madness because of this quarantine? Maybe all of the above? Here's the deal, their chicken sandwich is nothing short of amazing. I had mine tossed in Korean BBQ sauce, topped with coleslaw and pickles. This was very messy, but I licked my fingers clean! The sauce is slightly spicy, but not over the top hot. The slaw and the pickles added a nice freshness to the sandwich. Juicy chicken, crispy breading, a soft bun... winner winner chicken dinner! My wife got the tenders meal with fried pickles. The tenders were good, but I loved the fried pickles. Everything we ordered was amazing, but once you dipped it all in the Slim Sauce, it was on like Donkey Kong wearing Sean John. I almost forgot about the Mac n cheese; creamy, gooey, and super rich. Visited Slim Chickens for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. The parking lot looked pretty full, so we took that as a good sign. We ordered some fried pickles and chicken tender meals to try. The fried pickles were really good and came out hot and fresh. They were probably the best part of our meal. The chicken tenders were okay, but our fries were only lukewarm. I had asked what the Slim sauce was when placing my order, and the girl behind the counter couldn't describe it at all, but I decided to try one anyway. Well, it really didn't have much flavor at all. It reminded me of a bland Thousand Island dressing. The honey mustard, however, was very good. It's a chicken take out place. Pretty standard, as there are about a million different fast food chicken places in the South, but good. I tried the chicken and waffles - we ordered them pretty late on a Friday night and it took quite a while for the food to come out....I'm guessing they had to make my waffle because I'm ridiculous. But, they were friendly and the food smelled really good. The waffles were very sweet and it was a good size with three chicken tenders, so it was a good-sized meal. I was lucky enough to try this place out tonight on their soft opening and was very impressed. Counter staff was knowledgeable, all of them were friendly and eager to help. The food was delivered quickly and hot. Very clean and a nice family/ fast casual atmosphere with a patio that will be clutch come spring. My son had the chicken and waffles and loved it! I had to sample the mac n cheese that was creamy and delicious along with tenders tossed in sriracha garlic sauce... not too spicy, but just right. So tired of every establishment putting their "mediocre foot forward" Our food was warm at some point. Not when we received our food, but when it was first cooked... I'm assuming. Look, we've had Slim Chickens before and it was great! However this visit was sub-par, even for middle TN standards. Food was cold, fries were rubbery and flavorless. My brother used to work here back when the store first opened and loved it. The food was great & the people were nice. We go back now and again to get some food. It is absolutely HORRENDOUS. The portions have went down. The food is unseasoned or undercooked. They consistently get my order wrong. There won't be anyone in the drive thru & I'll have to wait 15-20 minutes after I have already paid. It's all around a negative experience. The prices have went up and the quality has gotten worse. The chicken tenders are just plain good! They don't have a bunch of weird squishy fatty pieces in them. The fries have a seasoning on them that is super good too. Normally fast an easy to order ahead and pickup, but unless you're parked near the front door they will never get to your car. There is no system of getting people their orders as they drive up. I had my kids with me and after waiting 20 minutes and seeing multiple cars pulling up after me and getting their orders before me I had to shout out at someone to tell them to please get me my order because I can't leave me kids in the car. Then, I check my order to make sure it's right, which it normally is but my family side order of pickles is not even filling half the box. So then I had to find someone to ask them to fix that. Over 30 minutes later I should have just gone through the drive through. Won't be going back for a while until they figure things out. Edit: The food is still really good. If you choose to dine in, this place is unpleasantly loud even when over half of the tables were closed for social distancing. We went to 3 empty dirty tables before deciding to clean one ourselves. The food was mediocre, my chicken sandwich was comparable to a burger King sandwich and was quite dry. My husband got a Buffalo wrap that had virtually had no Buffalo flavor. The fries were the best thing because they were hot but they were in need of salt. All and all this place was mediocre at best. If all of the open table options would have been clean I would've given this place a 3rd star. I was craving hot wings and on the wrong side of town for Zaxbys. Decided to give Slim Chickens a try. Good points. The unsweet tea was good. The ranch was watery but good. Bad points are literally everything else. I got a 5 by 5 with inferno sauce. The sauce is weak as hell, I'd be surprised if it had anything in it besides oil and cayenne. The wings themselves were dry and rubbery with tight skin. The tenders needed pepper and the be pulled out of the fryer earlier. The fries were soggy. I don't know what they're doing in the kitchen there, but it ain't right. Save your money, go somewhere else. read more

I had gone there a few months back and it was such a horrible experience that I figured maybe they were having a bad night and I would try it again before I wrote a review . Tonight was even worse this time I went through the drive through. After waiting exactly 42 minutes in the drive thru (only 5 cars ahead of me ) I witnessed something that made me wanna puke the people in front of me were senior citizens and when the kid working the window handed her change he haphazardly handed her money back and a bill flew on the ground . Did he go outside and retrieve it like a young gentleman.. no! Instead this elderly lady squeezed between her door and her car and crawled down to grab her money.
