Half Slab of Ribs, Grits Casserole, Collard Greens, Cornbread, Chess Pie
    Hyoun K.

So I was coming back home from my Sunday night hockey game and as I passed what I call "Restaurant Row", I realized I had nothing to eat for dinner. Or rather, I didn't feel like cooking. It was 7 o'clock and I just had Edley's the Wednesday prior at their Murphy Road location. I was craving those ribs again, so I made a U-turn and went back. Being so "late" on a Sunday in the suburbs, it wasn't very busy at all. Nobody was at the front register for several minutes until someone peeked around at the to-go area and told someone else. As you may know, I'm a man of habit. I ordered nearly the exact same thing as I always do at Edley's but swapped up the sides. Half Slab St. Louis Ribs platter, Chess Pie, but Grits Casserole and Collard Greens. If there's a vegetable side dish I love more than any other, it's any kind of greens. The fact that they had them (they normally aren't on the menu) was a no brainer. The grits casserole was a last minute swap up but I'm glad I tried them. Now, the thing with going late to any restaurant, especially barbecue joints is that the food tends to "age" as the day goes on. Like, your food isn't as "fresh" as if you came earlier in the day. I knew this going in but I wanted to point this out. The greens were delicious but because I went in late in the day, they were super tangy from the vinegar being cooked down over time. They had a nice heat to them and the leaves were overly cooked, but I enjoyed them nevertheless. The grits casserole had a nice rich cheesey flavor incorporated into them. Just like the collard greens, there was a subtle heat that sat on your tongue after the initial bite. The cornbread was fantastic. Warm, sweet, with also a heat kick to them. Lastly the ribs hit the spot, just like I expected them to. Compared to the other Edley's (where I went during prime time lunch), these were a little dry but they had the same flavor profile. Meaty, fatty, and tangy-sweet with that nice crunch of cartilage at the end. I ended up taking my chess pie home to heat up in the microwave (who eats cold pie)?? As always, it was fantastic. The only reason this wasn't as good as the other review is because I came at the end of the day and the food "sat" over time in their warmers and such. Like I said in my prior review for the Murphy Rd Edley's, Edley's has always been consistent no matter which location I go to and that's why it still gets a 5*.

First, the music was great, it lifted my spirits walking up to the front door. When you walk in youre hit with that pleasant smoky smell you expect from a bbq joint. We came in kinda late, so it wasn't crowded. Kai recommended the dry rubbed wings (they were definitely 5 star) and banana pudding (3 star). Our food came pretty fast. I had the pork platter, but my pork was a little cold, so I got that cold greasy bite that turned me off. However the grits casserole was fantastic. I like grits, but this My hubby had the brisket and rib combo. The brisket was tender and flavored nicely. The ribs were a little tough. My grandma made the best banana pudding, so I'm always on the lookout for a good one. The one I had was a little drier than I would have liked, but wasn't bad. I am not a fan of ordering drinks separately from food, but it wasn't bad. I could see where a busy night might make it a little more tricky. I will absolutely come back for the wings and grits!

This BBQ place has already been a staple for me, this is my second time coming to Edley's. This time I got the 3 Brisket Tacos with 2 sides, the grist casserole and green beans. The tacos were so good! I don't love tomatoes, so I took those off, but the brisket is seasoned well with a good sauce and fried jalapeños inside! I ate and enjoyed all 3 of them! The grits casserole is also sooo good, but I also love grits the green beans are cooked in liquid and seasoned well, I couldn't finish them all because I ate everything else! The restaurant is nicely decorated with plenty of seating and an expansive bar with tons of options. Make sure you bring you ID because they card regardless of how old you are!

Usually whenever barbecue comes to mind I usually expect the meat to be some what chewie or dry, but this by far is the most tendered meat i've had in a while! Absolutely loved it. Service was great. Everyone's friendly and welcoming. My only complaint is the time it takes for the food, and how long it takes the servers to clean tables. Good thing they have TV's and classic country music playing to keep everyone distracted.

While vacationing, wanted to get some southern BBQ. We got the full rack of ribs with cole slaw and baked beans, and brisket platter with mac & cheese and banana pudding. We liked the ribs, baked beans and BBQ sauce the most. Other side dishes lacked flavor and I probably wouldn't order again. Little disappointing that brisket was not tender and dry. Although there is inconvenience to order food separately from beverages at the bar, service was friendly and good.

We love coming to this location. Sitting on the patio is always enjoyable. On our next visit we hope to try out the little putting green. My baby isn't quite old enough for the kind of food that they have on their kids menu. But, I get the chicken platter with no sauce on the chicken and for $1 extra they shred it. It makes it so easy for sharing with her. Fries are never listed on the sides but they have them since they have a fry appetizer. My husband never has an issue getting fries as a side. The cornbread is so good and upon request they will bring you honey for it. The Mac and cheese is a $1 extra has a side but when I ordered that I was surprised to see the charge. When I looked back at the chalkboard menu I noticed how faint the $1 was. Not a big deal but just something to be mindful of. Our favorites our the chicken platter, anything with pork, and the smash burger. For sides, we love green beans, banana pudding and collard greens. We are here at least twice a month if not weekly.

This was our first time at an Edley's and it was a disappointing meal all around. It took 25-30 minutes for us to get our food after we ordered at the counter and it was not a busy night overall. The brisket and chicken were cold by the time we got our food, which was extra frustrating after waiting so long. The restaurant itself was also freezing and it was an uncomfortable meal. This is just not a good restaurant and they need to fix several things before it would be a place that we'd return to in the future.

Walked in and walked through a line placed my order and found a table. I got the 8 wing platter. Wings are a little tough and I don't like feathers on my wings. I think that they could be cooked a little longer. I had one that was not cooked/raw inside. I voiced my concern. Well, Hunter came right out to talk to me about the wings. He is the Pit Master here. I really appreciate that they took out the time to talk to us. Well this time I got the turkey platter and it's plentiful. The turkey is tender and good. My better half got the ribs and brisket platter with green beans and potato salad brisket is really tender and the ribs are really good. I'd come back. I just won't get wings. By the way Hunter gave us a banana pudding for our troubles. I Really appreciate that too and the longer I sit here the more it's filling up when I first came in. It wasn't that many folks here but now it's getting really crowded. Great place for family gatherings. The ambiance is not overwhelming/ too loud. Nice country western music. Some oldies of rock and roll too. Edley's, Welcome to the neighborhood!

I got the barbecue avocado plate and added turkey . There was so much flavor and I love the bacon and sauce on there. I had some of the grit casserole too and it was nice and cheesy and had a nice kick to it The service was very good and I definitely want to go back and try more items on the menu .

PORK SANDWICH NASHVILLE STYLE BBQ and a side of BEAN SALAD.

How this place only has 3.7 stars is beyond my comprehension. Their BURNT ENDS are the BEST bbq in this area by a long shot. Yes, I am comparing it to the famous 1st place RIDGEWOOD BARBECUE in Bluff City. It is a close 2nd place to all others in this state. I don't care if it is a chain now or not. On my most recent visit I had the pleasure of indulging in the PORK SANDWICH NASHVILLE STYLE. It is pretty hot, but very tasty. I ate half of the sandwich as I was full! Big portions. Nose running, mouth tingling, it was delicious. After about 5 minutes of no contact with the sandwich, my mouth was back to normal. It is a creeping heat. I paired it with a side of BEAN SALAD. Ambiance 100%. Tip well!

    The spread.

We had a party of 45 we needed catered so we called up Edleys the king of the bbq. They did not disappoint. Plenty of pulled chicken, pulled pork, Mac n cheese, beans, potato salad cornbread and buns. Everything was delicious and was delivered in a timely manner. Bbq sauce was spot on but we also had white bbq sauce which was actually quite good everyone left happy and with leftovers. Nice work Edleys!

I left and came back about 20 minutes later and the food was ready and still very hot. My 2 plates only came out to $13 and change so I was very happy about that. The food taste amazing to say the least. My wings were seasoned perfectly and came with a Buffalo ranch sauce that my mom used to make at home, didn't even know that sauce was a real thing! The fish was perfectly crispy and the coleslaw different, since it had relish and mustard in it, and still very good. The best part of it all to me were the fries, I love how they were seasoned and soft. I could not tell for sure but some of my wings looked like the meat may have been old or previously thawed out, learned that from watching kitchen shows on TV. Written reviews matched our secondary experiences. The service was disjointed, and uncoordinated, and the food, should have never been brought to the table. But the claims of, "Under New Management", offered some hope of reviving the standards that had previously earned their namesakes, reputation and growth. This morning's breakfast experience was an astounding disappointment. Greeted and seated by cordial, pleasant staff, we were a party of 3, occupying only the second table, at 9:15 AM. (That emptiness itself should have been a hint of what was to come.) It took much longer than expected just to get coffee and water. Still longer, to place an order, and nearly half-an-hour for the actual meal service. The quality of the food, was nothing short of astonishingly poor. Most notably, cold. Considering there were only two tables occupied in the entire dining room, the cold servings were the first indication of coordination, communications, process, and standards shortfalls. The food preparation showed the skillsets of a 12 year-old, trying to mimic Mom's kitchen routine. How can a restaurant cook not do toast? It was white bread, with a slightly stiff outer layer. Most people would describe it as, "stale bread"; not toast. The pancakes served with the "Lieper's Fork Favorite", were beyond belief. Three hard little discs, served cold, with chilled hard pats of butter, and NO syrup. I actually demonstrated to the very nice server, that the pancakes could NOT be cut with a fork. Again - could NOT be cut with a fork! Come on... They're PANCAKES! Not a single bite could be sampled, without the utility of a knife. I am not a small person. I tried three places around the brown discs to acquire a bite. Țhe effort was foreboding enough. Ì surrendered. The scrambled eggs and bacon were edible, though lacking temperature, and uncaring presentation. When the server saw that the pancakes were as fork resistant as a Frisbee, she took the plate to the kitchen manager. He was a nice, apologetic young man, who acknowledged that the pancakes were "Overcooked on one side..." He did offer to make more. I declined. I told him I sincerely appreciated his offer. But the issue was much deeper, than plastic pancakes. As indicated by the lack of clientele in a fairly large restaurant, there was a blinding flash of the obvious. They were squandering the owner's investment. The kitchen staff lacked the skillsets to produce the simplest traditional American Breakfast - and - the wisdom to refrain from placing it up for service. The plating looked SO incredibly bad, that it was obvious that both standards and personal pride were totally absent. The staff was nice. Ignorance is curable. Training, processes, and well established standards can develop nice people into effective business associates. It's not their fault. They have NO leadership directions. The owners have let them down. Țhose owners have had ample signals and time to cure these maladies. They have a model, in their other facilities - that's how / why they opened more than one restaurant. But those owners are apparently oblivious to the signals of absentee management, process inconsistency, and the gross lack of product standards, leading to failure. To those nice people working at Puckett's, I have a sincere recommendation. The best time to find a job, is when you already have one. Your current employer is going to fail; sooner rather than later. They will surely continue with their communications shortfalls. They will not tell you in advance. They will simply let you go when they finally lock the doors. Take care of yourself. FInd an employer who has a distinct business survival plan. Such plans, include coordination, process leadership, training, and holding a team accountable to perform to the standards they were trained to. You're not getting that.

They give you 4 pieces with the AYCE...trying to fill you up Scalloped potatoes: cheesy and creamy Mac and cheese: ok Green beans: canned but seasoned well Crab cakes: had to wait to bring to the table. The inside was still cold. Had it replaced...no comp. Jalapeno cornbread: almost no jalapeno pieces/flavor. Taste kinda like the regular corn bread Coleslaw: too fresh...cabbage was still super crispy Jalapeno fries corn: can see some jalapeno pieces but doesn't taste jalapeno enough Collard greens: ok Overall, a little pricier the the other "Place" down the road. But the food is definitely fresher...had not been sitting all day getting dry.
