Authentic BBQ from a drive thru? Whitt's was actually very good for "fast food" Styled BBQ. The menu here is pretty simple, pulled pork, ribs, turkey, loaded potatoes plus all of the comforting sides; Mac and cheese, coleslaw, potato salad to name a few. They offer plates or Family style meals. We ordered a Family #1 meal (which feeds four) with pulled pork, beans, Mac n cheese, and a side of potato salad. With a medium drink the tab was $23, what a steal! Everything was really good. The pulled pork was super flavorful and didn't even need BBQ sauce! The beans and the potato salad were great, but the Mac n cheese was the star of the sides. Creamy, cheesy, and downright illegal! One thing I've never seen before is giving customers an entire bag of hamburger buns to go with the meal. Like, I don't get it. Why do we need an entire bag of buns? My son loved them, but they were standard grocery store buns. This Whitt's location is a great option for a tasty meal on the go or save yourself some time and just order ahead! read more

Love whitts!!!! I usually don,t like vinegar based sauce but theirs is really good. There hot sauce isnt overly hot but has a good bite to it. The couple of times I have been at the location they are so friendly but that seems to be the same at the other locations. Price wise I think they are lower than the competition. If you're looking for a relatively quick and easy and delicious barbecue dinner, come here. Been twice and both times the food is GOOD. We like the pulled pork and ribs, very tender and flavorful. Mac and cheese and beans are our favorite sides though the potato salad is great too. The bread on the side is a dense loaf of sweet corn, different from cornbread. Service is excellent! This is definitely our go-to local barbecue place. read more

Food wasn't bad but not great. The worst part though is we were headed to a picnic in the park. Before leaving with our order, we specifically asked if we had forks and napkins (gotta have napkins with bbq). The answer was "yes, there are forks and napkins in there." We get to the park, open up our food and there is ONE packet with ONE FORK and ONE NAPKIN. So, do we share a fork or does one of us eat our baked beans, Mac and cheese, and Cole slaw with our fingers??? I'm glad this wasn't a first date!!! First visit around 2:45 Wednesday afternoon and ordered 5 piece wing and a barbecue sandwic. Meat so dry it could have been used for kindling, drop a lit match and whoosh!! instant charcoal starter. This has to be the best BBQ we've had. My family and I are on a road trip across country from California, and we will definitely enjoyed this meal the best out of all the BBQ spots. The service is fast and the gentlemen that helped us is by far the friendliest ever. We will definitely make another stop before we head home. read more

LOVE, love, love their Murfreesboro location near Hastings. This place, not so much. They serve the same Que, but are extremely limited on their SIDES here. I'm used to getting a huge pork plate with green beans, mac & cheese, and cornbread, but here all they had to serve us was beans and Lay's chips. I need my SOUTHERN food. Alright, Ive ate their beef and turkey sandwiches for awhile and they were pretty good. But the owner finally convinced me to try the ribs and I wasnt sure because Ive never liked any restaurants ribs because they always put so much sauce on them you cant taste the meat. The BBQ is really good, and the potato salad is awesome, but the slaw is godawful! Most people want creamy coleslaw, something like Cracker Barrel or KFC sells (not to be confused with that garbage creamy slaw sold in the Publix or Kroger Deli). Sweet, creamy, mayo-based coleslaw that works well as a side or as a condiment right on the sandwich. Whitt's slaw has been a long-standing complaint of mine for this establishment. The vinegar-based slaw has one thing going for it, you could probably keep it at room temperature without having to worry about bacteria growth. I wish I could give this place five stars, but the slaw is so terrible that it forces me to hit the KFC drive-thru just for slaw when I go to Whitt's. And let's face it, pulled pork typically varies so little from place to place that there really is nothing special about Whitt's except for the potato salad. In fact, the Nick's brand pulled-pork BBQ that is sold in frozen tubs at Kroger's is almost just as good at Whitt's. So, while the BBQ is good, and the potato salad is awesome, the slaw is godawful and is basically unfit for human consumption. It reeks of laziness in terms of perpetration (creamy slaw has a more involved preparation) and it forces me to go to two places when I want to serve Whitt's BBQ to the family. So two stars...one for the BBQ and one for the potato salad. The missing three stars are for the horrible slaw that forces me to make a second stop at KFC, the early closing time, and for the vending-machine-style pecan pies that also reek of laziness on Whitt's part. Also, the sides are very limited at this location, as other's have noted, but my rating is for Whitt's in general, so this limitation is not affecting my rating here. Whitt's is not a bad place, the BBQ is good, the place is clean, the people are friendly...but that slaw....oh how I hate that slaw....someone needs to burn that slaw recipe. I just can't believe that there are people who would think that slaw is good when there is slaw that is so much better. And I can't believe that Whitt's would choose to sell such a sub-par slaw when the Cracker Barrel recipe is right on the Internet. And if you really think people prefer the vinegar-sour-crap-slap slaw, then ask yourself why no major restaurant chain sells this type of slaw. Do you get a bowl of pickled cabbage when you order slaw at Famous Dave's? Red Lobster? At Cheddar's? At Cracker Barrel? At KFC? No. No you do not. Okay, I know I'm making a big deal out of the slaw. For me, however, the slaw is as important as the BBQ because it is my side-of-choice when eating BBQ. I want it on the sandwich, I want it on the side. I want a fork of slaw and beans mixed when I eat my BBQ sandwich topped with slaw. And because Whitt's slaw is so horrible that I am forced to have to stop at KFC for slaw (and I hate KFC in general because their drive-thru is so slow)...TWO STARS!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

One of my top BBQ choices in the southeast. Great BBQ, friendly service, and great tea. Every time I drive through or to Nashville I make a point to go out of my way to eat here. They also have an excellent half price sandwich special on Wednesdays, amazing value, just difficult to only eat one. Much support to this establishment and their superior BBQ making skills! I have been enjoying the BBQ from Whitts for some time now and I still love it. The main things that draw me back to this place is their amazing sweet tea and the awesome loaded potato with pork. I mean how can you go wrong loading up a big potato with some delicious moist pulled pork? Mmmmmm. Another great option are the pork, turkey or beef sandwiches. With a little slaw, mayo and pickle these sandwiches are the bomb. Adding one of the hot or mild sauces is a great way to give the sandwich even more great flavor. Put simply this is a great place to grab lunch or dinner for the fam. read more
