Looking for a quick bite and BBQ, looked on Yelp and it gave me this place. It is located 5 minutes from one of my Aunt's house. You can smell the smoke from up the road. There is usually a line when I pass by but today I needed a BBQ fix after driving up from Atlanta in the snow and rain. I ordered the rib sandwich sauce on the side. It was really good. Tender fall off the bone ribs. Smokey but not in a I can't taste anything but smoke way. Good stuff. I usually like the sauce on the side in case I don't like it. But I did like the sauce. Picked up dinner for 2 of us on the way home & ended up making chicken anyways after slaw was put on both meals despite a back & forth confirmation on no slaw when ordering. Chicken tasted as if they put ground smoker pellets directly into the meat leading to an overwhelmingly unpleasant experience for both of us. So even after pulling the slaw off, it was inedible. The other part worth mentioning is when told them the lady on the phone about the meat, she hung up. It seemed as if they did not care to have my business at all. Enjoyed lunch at the food truck. Really good BBQ and great service. Ordered the pork rib sandwich. It came with four rib bones, two slices of white bread and pickles. Tney had a full menu with lots of options and sides. The ribs were tender and very tasty. The greens and slaw were enjoyable. The red BBQ sauce had great flavor although a little sweet. Moved to the neighborhood a few months ago and seen the local business l, so decided we would give it a shot. I believe that when a customer asked for some thing, they should be given what they asked for so when I received a sandwich with coleslaw specifically stating no coleslaw on either, I didn't have high expectations going into the first bite. They may have a smoker running, but the two sandwiches that we received were definitely reheated meat. Overwhelming taste of smoke flavor that made it not edible. I was visiting my daughter and we wanted to give them a try! They always have a line and they offered turkey ribs, my daughter doesn't eat pork or beef so this gave her a taste of something different. You get two turkey ribs for $11 and she enjoyed them. They were a good size, but I would have needed more meat. My rib tips were good and so was the beans and potato salad. She had Mac and cheese and said it was good and some potato salad. Pre-lockdown experience. Current MMV. I don't know why it makes me twitch when people ask 'What's your favorite black-owned business?' It seems so insincere and telling. Surely, you don't ask about one's favorite [fill-in-the-blank] business. You just patronize it. And, you know where/what it is without asking. I don't know. It seems as though if you have to make a song and dance about supporting a business (all the while, asking someone else to do the ground work to find/vet it for you), well, you might want to examine your intentions... and keep them to yourself. Supporting a type of business shouldn't be a trend. I've probably said too much. Onto the good Doctor... I was in the mood for some backyard-style, non-corporate bbq and the good doctor had been on my radar for a little while. Finding the time to make the drive from Nashville to Antioch during the hours of operation took some dedication but when there's a will there's a way. One lazy Sunday in late fall (I told you this was/is an old review), I made the time, made the lunch plans and made my way south. If you're not familiar with the intersection/area, you might overshoot it but as good as its word... let the smoke be your guide. I smelled the truck long before I saw it. That's a good thing. I'd had a while to ponder my order so I was quick on the draw. The young lady who took my order was friendly and she could tell by my seriousness that I was not here/there to play. I ordered a half rack with pickles and sauce (no bread) and a side of potato salad -- after guaranteeing it was mustard-based. She laughed at me needing the guarantee (mustard v. mayo) before ordering and knew exactly why I asked. I paid and tended to my phone while the doctor did his thing behind the truck. After a fair amount of time (could tell my order was made for me but I didn't have to wait all day for it), I received my heavy bag of food and I was on my way home. The aroma of the ribs and potato salad was so intoxicating it took will power not to stop at the side of the road and start eating. I got home, plated everything* and got to eating. Even without the sauce, the ribs were the real deal: meaty, smokey, seasoned, and spoon-tender. With the sauce, every bite was a pleasure. I kid you not. The potato salad was church-approved. You can't eat everyone's potato salad. This passed the test. Meat and vegetable combined made for a mighty bite. 2020's been a rough year. I can't guarantee that your experience will mirror mine. I'd hoped to have written this review earlier but I'm not on here as much as i used to be blah blah blah. Sadly, it tastes like it was just made w/ processed cheese, it is flavorless and noodles were cooked too long. In retrospect, I don't see any pictures off it and shouldn't have ordered without asking questions. The greens were really good as well and not over cooked, something a lot of places don't get right. I ordered the Smokey Dog, Ribs, Baked Beans, and Potato Salad. The Smokey Dog consist of a grilled sausage on a bun with pulled pork, coleslaw, and bbq sauce. After a couple of unsuccessful order attempts for the RIB Doctor BBQ truck on GrubHub, we decided the best course of action was to order in person. We arrived at the truck and there were a few people in line, but the line went pretty quickly. We put in our order and it was ready in a few minutes. While I waited I peaked around the corner to see the smokers, and there were four that I could see that were being used. The smell was amazing and we were really excited to get our food! I'm a fan of smoked food and have smoked a lot of my own food, and I'm very critical of BBQ restaurants. Each restaurant has it's own flavor profile, and usually a signature sauce. The RIB Doctor is for those who really like to taste the smoke, and the sauce fits this bold smoke flavor perfectly. The ribs, pulled pork, and smoked sausage were all really flavorful and tender. We ordered potato salad and slaw for our sides and both were delicious. There's no shortage of BBQ restaurants in our area, so patrons can afford to be picky about their choices. On the days when this truck is open for business it will be our first choice for ribs, pulled pork, and the other items on their menu. Ribs not cooked, placed them in the oven to cook further. By the way, so fatty after cooking to my liking that I ate off one and stopped. Sausage more like a smoked hot dog, gross. Texture way off. Greens contained more liquid than veg. Mac and cheese, no comment. I just can't with overpriced and under whelming food. In a word WooooEEEEE ! Really delicious place! I had a pulled pork sandwich for lunch. I am not a fan of BBQ sauce but I could tell their homemade BBQ sauce was good stuff. The pork was tender, moist, and delicious, and did not taste at all greasy. For those leery of food truck cleanliness, I took a look at the Health Dept. Inspection report, posted on the window. They scored 99 ! I'm visiting from Massachusetts, but I'll make the extra effort to come again next time I visit. About the BBQ sauce, I got it on the side.
