The menu changes all the time with new creations added regularly, but these are the amazing options I could choose from on my last visit.

Bring your appetite! The sandwiches crafted by Steaming Goat food truck are, shall we say, loaded. Overflowing. Substantial. Generous. But most importantly, they are delicious. The owner is super friendly, and clearly creative when it comes to making great sandwiches. And generous with the toppings! Do keep in mind that the menu changes pretty frequently, in large part because they come up with new ideas. So you may not necessarily be able to get the same sandwich twice, but you will always have great options to choose from. Another tip: Make sure to allow a little extra time to peruse the menu of around a dozen sandwiches, each with a fun name. You may find it difficult to choose a sandwich, as so many of them will appeal. And allow a little extra time to eat, because these sandwiches are loaded! And if you're heading off to the park to eat your sandwich, bring plenty of napkins too. ;-) I always love trying out food trucks, and this is my favorite. Check out their website for the schedule (http://www.steaminggoat.com/schedule.html) to find out when and where you can find the Steam Goat food truck. Give them a try and you will not leave even a little bit hungry.

Had the Cuba South and Southwestern Pasta Salad. Both excellent. Cuba South: not a typical Cuban. All the ingredients are there, but presented in an unorthodox, but not undelicious, way. Contrasts sweet with tangy insanely well. Bread stood up to the slaw rather well. Southwestern Pasta Salad: they put remoulade on it. That has to be it. Why has no one done this before??? Genius, delicious, novel twist to the categorically ho-hum side that is pasta salad. Game changer. Also, if you don't know what to get (as I didn't), just ask the guys behind the counter. They won't lead you astray; their recommendation led to one of the best damned food truck lunches I've ever had (for comparison, see El Mero Taco in Memphis). Very reasonably priced, too. Very pleased with the vfilling portion served.

Wow this is one amazing food truck. Great variety of food including healthy options, friendly staff, very fair prices for the quality and serving size and really one of the best "subs" I have enjoyed. Great lunch and hope to enjoy this food truck again.

Had a really good lunch here today! I went with the Buffalo Chicken Salad sliders ($9) and they were fresh and delicious. The chicken salad had tons of fresh chicken and good seasoning. Just the right amount of heat without leaving you with flaming lips. Would visit this truck again anytime.

I love the food trucks of Nashville and I have seen steaming goat before but they're always surrounded by so many good smells and their truck is kind of contained... Well today, they were surrounded by the smell of neighbor Electric Slider and I was not in a burger mood...actually I was feeling chilly and veggie-needing and Steaming Goat delivered. Their menu sounded great but looked a little overwhelming - the portions coming out looked fantastic and the steam coming from the containers was enticing on a very cold November day. I eventually realized their side options were incredible and ordered two sides as a "main" - the Spinach Stuffing balls and the Harvest Hash - both boasting a "spinach aioli" which sounded odd but turned out to be this delicious gravy. The wait time is not long at all, they take credit / debit per norm and feed superhero baby goats with their tips (it's adorable ;)). Where my lunch made me really happy was in pure flavor. Everything was so wonderfully hot and packed with flavor that I force-fed my partner in crime to the experience of yumminess. Overall, a good value truck (two filling sides for $6!) with a friendly group running it, cute props on the counter, delicious food you really want to just nom down on and then share the joy of your food truck choice over the others and a super-clever menu that I suspect will update seasonally. Yum. I love it.

    Delicious.

This food truck initially jumped out at us because while stopping to look at the menu, the guy working was funny. We explored options and came back here. My cousin and I split the Cuban sandwich, topped with house made pickles and slaw. These are seriously the only pickles I've ever liked and make the sandwich even more delicious. My cousin drove into town and said this is the best meal she's had in Nashville.

WEDNESDAYs Food Truck Day @ Work! Menu has to have at least one Healthy Option! So, I ordered me a Yaki To Me!...without the Health Option! Roasted Chicken & Havarti Steamed with Chicken Stock, Topped with Baby Greens, Broccoli, Teriyaki Sauce & Sesame Seeds! This was wonderful! The chicken was very moist, the pieces of broccoli was a nice healthy option that was already part of the dish! This was so good!! Can't wait to catch these guys around town!!

Fantastic lunch -- Smoking Goat had an instant appeal, despite 12 other food trucks in the street. Went with the Spanish Fly and fell in love -- it's a filling a sandwich and not a mess. Great mix of flavored and a solid menu! If there was only one complaint, it would be a larger selection of sides.

The first time I tried Steaming Goat was last year during CMA Fest. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was good. I wasn't using Yelp last year, but I remembered how good the Cuban was so I figured I tried a different one during this year's CMA Fest. They didn't have a line compared to other trucks at peak lunch hour which I thought was pretty odd. I had the Demonbreum and it was eh. The bread was hard and unappetizing. For a sandwich truck I figure the bread would be pretty decent but nope. However, the chicken covered in melted cheese, slaw and drizzled with BBQ sauce was good. I would stick with the Cuban next time I eat here.

Steaming Goat...Hmmmmmm what is this? What is a goat that steams? Should a goat steam at all? Nope. No Goat on this truck either. EXCEPT for the mascot plush toy, See pic. Also the owner/chef's nickname is Goat. The Funny Friendly Truck lady told me that. Still not sure of the Steaming part. I think it could come from the Au Jus they make the food in. Either Pork or Chicken. They have the special as THE GOAT. It is 10 dollars and it is what ever the chef feels like making. Each one is different. We had 3 friends order THE GOAT, and three different things came out. All different combinations. My friend had the Cuban which had Pulled Pork, Carved Ham & Swiss Cheese Steamed with Pork Au JusTopped with Homemade Pickles, Coleslaw and Cuban Goat Sauce. I had HIBACH Roasted Chicken and Pineapple Steamed with Chicken Stock Topped with Broccoli, Carrots, Celery, and Teriyaki Sauce and Toasted Sesame Seeds. Both of use wolfed them down. Aside from being a large tasty sandwich which can also be made into a salad, one does not walk away being thirsty. So the Sodium is being noted and not dumped into their meals. Huge bonus for lunch timers. The female half of the couple took the orders, while the male aka Goat, cooked. It was quicker than the normal food truck experience and all served on a fresh bun. They have a website which posts every single day where they will be, so that is efficient and their mascot GOAT stands proudly in front. Great food truck, great to have them in Nashville.

Today's menu 12/4/18 in front of South College

Steaming Goat came to South College today so I gave it a try since this is the second time I have seen it at my school. I tried the Cuba South and omg, IT IS SOOOO BOMBBB. $9 for about 6-7 inch sandwich is kind of pricey but I'm glad I gave it a try. Definitely recommend the Cuba South. The pickled veggies was a nice touch to the pulled pork.

I got the Cuban South for lunch today

This casual sandwich shop is the Nashville outpost of an original New Orleans Michelin Bib Gourmand-recognized spot. And it truly delivers. The menu is tight but emphasizes indulgent, tasty burgers, po'boys, and a variety of sandwiches and sides. The vibe is ideal for the warmer months, as it's primarily outdoors (with a covered patio on part of the eatery.) I've come twice now: first for a pop-up they did for Lunar New Year and again a few weeks later just to grab lunch. Parking is pretty easy to find on the street but be forewarned at peak lunch time on the weekends or for special pop-ups, whichthere can be a long line to order. I've had the burger and fries here and it's excellent but can't wait to come back and try the daily special po'boy or the collard green melt so many of my friends have raved about. They really understand the perfect mathematical ratio between sauciness, crispness of the breading, and overall flavor to just make really incredible sandwiches. Service is friendly and very fast. You order at a counter and then your food is brought to you. They have my favorite local seltzer, Maypop, or you could opt for a drink from their full bar. They host a lot of special pop-ups in collaboration with other chefs or just other cool people (Tyler Childers did a sandwich with them last summer.) When I came for their Lunar New Year pop-up with Chef Christine Lau, the line was around the block but they dealt with everyone efficiently, there were still plenty of tables for sitting, and the food (we ordered everything on the menu that day) was truly unreal delicious. Menu prices are pretty reasonable, about $14-15 for a sandwich and then sides would add up on top of that. Believe the hype for this spot - it's absolutely a worth it.

Let me take my shoes off before i start (arabic habits) :…read more Apparently this place is TikTok famous. I wouldn't know, I remain a proud TikTok virgin. But I have dated enough white school teachers who "love ethnic food" to hear about this place roughly 86 times, so eventually I had to pull up and investigate. And of course i had to trust the gals the eat taco bell at 2 am post 12 shots. Let's start with the "chicken shawarma," which is ,with respect: about five miles away from an actual shawarma. This is not a shawarma. This is a chicken sandwich that identifies as shawarma. The chicken is okay but a little dry, the flavor is playing hide and seek, and by the time you get home the sandwich has the structural stability of wet cardboard. Also, the vegetables are cut like someone lost a bet and had to chop them blindfolded. Overall? Fine. Would I order it again? Probably not. But given Nashville's current shawarma economy, I understand why some folks are acting like they discovered Atlantis. Personally, I daydream about real shawarma the way people daydream about winning the lottery, or the way poets dream about lost love (in my case that one girl in 8th grade) I also tried the mixed plate (rice, lentil soup, and three meats: kabab, chicken, and beef tikka): Rice: solid. Honest work. Lentil soup: extremely shy. Needs seasoning, confidence, and maybe therapy. Also a bit oily. Chicken: dry enough to file paper work with. Beef tikka: actually pretty good, respect where respect is due. Kabab: could use more garlic, onion, and emotional support. Didn't see a health inspection score posted, and the place could definitely level up on the cleanliness side, nothing terrifying, just not sparkling either. The bald uncle behind the counter is a little dismissive and chaotic, but the man looks like he has personally witnessed several historical events, so I'm choosing compassion. They do carry a wide variety of Arabic groceries and halal raw meats (which I personally can't buy because I'm allergic, tragic and traumatic storyline), and honestly they should give discounts to school teachers because those are the main people marketing this place harder than the actual owners. Not terrible, not life changing. If this is your first shawarma, you'll be impressed. If you grew up eating shawarma, you'll drive home in silence thinking, "we as a society can do better." And also need to be more politically correct naming foods but alas.
