Tacos Lopez - Gorditas, Suaquesos, Tacos - Tacos Near Me - Nashville, Tennessee

This is a taco food truck-based restaurant with indoor seating, though we opted for to-go. I got 6 tacos: asada, pastor, chicharron, beef tongue, barbacoa, and carnitas. What's nice is that similar to some taco stands, they give a lot of fixings like jalapeño pepper, grilled green onions, and radish, along with lime, onion, and cilantro, as well as avocado sauce. Tacos themselves are just average with an acceptable amount of meat, decently priced at $1.75 per taco. The issue I had was that the tortillas were soggy, so oil from the al pastor taco seeps through the entire dish. read more

Tacos Lopez - 6 tacos and the fixings - Tacos Near Me - Nashville, Tennessee

Yall... damn damn damn!! Those tacos were so good!!! It was just a basic carne asada, barbacoa and pollo taco. But I do believe they actually season the meat before cooking it! Special mention that onion they had on top of there.. good lord! And the carrots were quite zesty. Don't go in there trying to be extra and creative and this that this and the other. Just get the darn Taco with everything on it and keep it moving! I like this place and I plan on coming back to it. I really am worried about talking about this place to other people who are not familiar with the food much less the culture arts people. But that food was so damn good! They were out of Jamaica aquafresca. But it's okay! The Mandarin soda did the trick. ***SPECIAL MENTION**** When you leave there with an full happy belly, do not get pissed off at trying to exit out. Trust me it will happen! It took 9 minutes for me to get out of that little bitty parking lot. I was stuck behind a truck that came through the drive-thru. And I literally had to wait! So hold your pretty little horses and keep your pretty little britches on! Just be patient and wait to get out! Because the food is well worth the wait! read more

A-mazing Al Pastor Tacos! They are so flavorful and pure deliciousness. I'm a huge taco truck fan, and have my favorite ones depending on what area of town I'm in, but these Al Pastor are the best in Nashville for sure. I just realized it's bc it's cut right off the spit. A sign of a great taco place for sure! I'm from So Cal and am used to having really good Mexican around, so I'm just glad I found another great truck! The green salsa is bomb too. Definitely worth stopping by to try this humble place out! read more

I've tried a good handful of Nolensville Pike taco trucks and Tacos Lopez does not disappoint. We ordered 7 tacos -- barbacoa, pollo, carnitas, chorizo, and pastor. Food came out quickly with red and green sauce on the side. We ordered it to go and I will say the shells were a little soggy by the time we got home, but partially that was our fault for taking them to go. I think we could have gotten two more, as they are pretty small, but they pack a flavor punch and for $11 or so for two people, it's a great lunch option. Tacos come with grilled onions, raw onions and cilantro, and radishes, as well as the two sauces that have some good heat and flavor. Compared to some other taco trucks in the area, I thought the fillings were more juicy and flavorful, which is why I'm giving Lopez 5 stars. read more

Tacos Lopez - a menu on a brick wall - Tacos Near Me - Nashville, Tennessee

I've been eating at this taco truck for over 15 years.... and here is what you order when you come to Lopez. Spicy pork tacos, ceviche, rice and beans, and Horchata. These are the best menu items and DANG do they do them good. I'm too chicken to try some of the bolder flavors of tacos (aka tripe) but hands down, these are the best spicy pork tacos in all of Nashville. I don't know what they do to that meat but it is amazing. I also like this taco truck because their tacos are unique, and come with sliced cucumbers, grilled onions and radishes on the side, in addition to 2 homemade hot sauces. Pre-Covid, you could drive up and wait in your car, and the waitress would take your order and then deliver it to you as well. I went there during quarantine and no one came up to my car so I left. I'm not sure what the protocol is for ordering now. I love Lopez and it is one of my favorite taco trucks ever! read more

It did not taste like a street taco at all, normally street tacos have seasoning flavors and some sort of kick, it was BLAND

I want to keep this place a secret all to myself but my sense of responsibility as a Yelper drives me to share it. Taste calibration: When I crave Mexican food I choose a taco truck on or near Nolensville Pike over almost all sit-down Mexican restaurants (especially Las Palmas). I'm talking any taco truck. I'm talking sight unseen. Their flavor, presentation, accoutrements, all take me back to my home town of El Paso, TX, and the across-the-border town of Juarez, Mexico. This place has been around for years but is so inconspicuous it's easy to miss. I have been here dozens of times over the years, and would have even more if I didn't have the urge to try new places all the time. There are a small handful of taco trucks that I have not tried yet but among the dozens I have this is one of my all time favorites. The flavor is authentic, the price is decent (middle of the road among taco trucks), the hours are long, the servers hustle. Even though it is a taco truck it is pretty much a permanent fixture, and the ways to get food are: 1. Pull into a parking space and a server comes to you like a car hop for your order and with your food. 2. Sit at the picnic table and the server comes to you like a picnic table hop for your order and with your food. 3. Sit in the small building that the truck is parked in front of (sounds weird to end this sentence fragment with a preposition but I'm drunk on tortas and tacos so I can't fix it) and act like you are in a regular sit-down restaurant with table service. If this one leaves it's not the end of the world because there are other very good taco trucks (most of them). But I would be sad because this one has been there for me consistently and always takes me back home. read more

If I could rate this establishment 0 star, I would. The lady served my sister and I thought we were two dumb asians. The server was passive aggressive to us. We couldn't help but feel being racially targeted there. We ordered total 7 tacos first round and the server passive aggressively asked us, so one of you eats 6 and the other eats 1? And later, after we told her we share, when the food came out, it was displayed exactly that - my sister only had one taco on her plate and I got 6 of them. With that amount of tacos, she only provided us each only one wedge of lemon. Funny. The second round we ordered 4 more tacos, she only provided us ONE wedge of lemon?!? Are you kidding me?! Then we asked for more, she fucking charged us $1 for a whole lemon. Beyond pathetic. You know what?! This will be the first and very last time we visit your establishment. I hope Tacos Lopez could get rich on their lemon wedges! Food are not racist but the people who serve are! Nashville has so many delicious taco places, you're not the only place. We're from California and we know our shit about tacos. Who's the dumb one now? Have fun being ignorant! read more

Review from a Mexican who lived in Mexico for 6 years. I am a self proclaimed authentic taco hunter and am willing to eat any place, be it white table cloth or standing at a food truck as long as the tacos are authentic and well prepared. That being said Tacos Lopez serves two excellent tacos that the only ones I order. First the Carne Asada (steak) and the Tripa (tripe). The tripe is no for the faint of heart but if you order it crispy it is as good or Bette than most I have eaten in Mexico. Note- this is place has clean food preparation but the dining area is lack luster and quite humble. Give it a try if you want a taste of authentic Mexican prepared tacos! See you there... read more

This place was good. I really hate the parking here but I was glad that it wasn't busy when we went. I had the tamales and a taco. The tamales are really good (I only tried the green chicken but they have red ones with pork). The taco was good but the meat had too much fat pieces. I liked that they made the bottom tortilla a little crispy. The salsas were good and the horchata water was very good. My boyfriend had the shrimp burrito and he said it was very good. They offer menudo (soup) on the weekends so we are definitely going to come back so my boyfriend can try the menudo. Not a bad place but I definitely have my favorite place. read more

I have never had food made me lose my appetite. This surprised me. Ordered 4 chicken tacos, 4 pastor (spicy pork) and a chicken quesadilla meal. All the tortillas were super soggy. On a couple of the non-soggy sides, they were actually way too chewy/crunchy. I could only finish half the tacos as I lost my appetite, where I ALWAYS finish my food, especially Mexican food. I found 3 chicken bones, without finishing the food of course. I tried using my own tortillas and throwing out the soggy ones, but the meat was just so bland. I then tried using my own leftover rice and beans with just the meat, and found I couldn't handle it that way either. The meat almost tasted boiled. Ended up really enjoying my leftover rice and beans from the night before. They never tasted so good. I would not recommend going to this taco truck until they take a look at their flavor and quality ingredients. Please go to any other truck up Nolensville, as you will regret this one. I have recently super enjoyed El Dollar, El Tapatio, and San Luis Taqueria. read more

Challenge - Finding something good to eat that's not Fast Food in Nashville after 10pm. Accepted - Tacos Lopez! Stopped by last night around 11:30pm. They were open that alone earns them a positive review. It was three of us and here's the run down. Chicken Quesadilla (plain) - abundantly of chicken & super cheesy. Chicken was delicious has that straight off the carbon taste. Tacos de Chicharrón - tasty & spicy Tacos de Asada - this was the big win for me they were AMAZING! Best Asada Tacos I've had on Nolensville thus far. Tacos de Carnitas - great taste meat wasn't dry. Tacos de Chorizo - I taste this but it looked & smell good. Horchata - eh it was grainy not much flavor this was my only disappointment. We ate outside - they have one picnic bench. The woman who took care of us of sweet & just attentive enough. Total bill for 7 Tacos, Quesadilla, large horchata & bottle of water $22.40. Not bad at all. I'll definitely will go back ASADA TACOS YUM . read more

This little taco stand has the best $0.99 tacos in all of Nashville, and the best Pastor/Spicy Pork Tacos I've had in Nashville. They have 4 tables of 4 for sit down dining and serve to parked cars in the lot. Right now, the parking lot is full, there are two other tables occupied, and we still got served my $6 half-chicken, rice, and beans in about 5 minutes. I come here multiple times a week, after hours when all else is closed, and sit in my pjs, in my car, feasting on tacos and preium horchata. There's no better Mexican expeience for me in Nashville. read more

This place is the real deal. Cucumbers and savory sauteed onions that melt in your mouth trim the burrito plates. The burritos themselves are packed full of fresh tasty ingredients. I had the carnitas. Don't miss the horchata either. You'll know you're near this place by the smell, mmmmm. The nicest ladies come to your car for your order, so in winter, it is my go to spot. They know me now and I order in Spanish though they all speak English. Hubby and I love their steak and shrimp tacos. They are always fresh, good and simple with onion and cilantro. The orders are quick, too. For a treat, get some fresh juice...
