We visited Bartaco while visiting Nashville and were so pleased with our visit. Ben, our server, gave amazing recommendations for food and things to do in the area. He truly made our experience great. To start we had the guac and salsa trio. The salsas and guac were very fresh and the tortilla chips were shaped like tostadas. We tried the carne asada, verde tinga, pork belly, baja fish, chorizo, and shrimp tacos. All were very good but the pork belly was phenomenal. To drink we had the green margarita, seasonal watermelon margarita, and both regular and spicy pineapple margaritas. The green and watermelon were unique, refreshing, and tasty. I look forward to returning to Nashville to visit Bartaco again, as it is now one of my favorite restaurants. read more

We were visiting Nashville and one of my goals during my stay was to eat at Bartaco because we used to have one in Alabama. I really miss the one we had. It was one of my favorite spots. The feel of the restaurant is slightly upscale but fun and laid back at the same time. It gives you a kind of vacation vibe. With its low lighting and woven baskets. The dragon fly is their logo, and you can put up the dragonfly sign, included at the table, when you need service. This is such a wonderful thing because the wait staff isn't wasting their time or your time. The food is really good. I like that you can order as many tacos as you like and mix and match. My favorites are the mojo pork carnitas and the chicken Verde. I also love their street corn. If you are a hot and spicy kind of person, they offer haberno, jalapeno and roja sauces. read more

The food came out very quickly. It was packed inside when we went for weekend lunch, but we were able to get seating at the bar. My favorite taco is between the Korean pork belly and the shrimp taco. I did not like sitting in front of the juicer at the bar because I got squirted with lime juice a couple of times, so try to avoid that seat if possible. I enjoyed the decor inside and the wait staff were nice. Will most likely be trying other bartacos! read more

Brett was our waiter when my friends and I came in for a lunch on Valentine's Day. We checked in on the waitlist before we drove up from Franklin and still waited about 20 minutes for a table so I ordered the Pineapple Pisco Punch to sip on while we waited. Bartaco has the best assortment of tacos and fun sides too. We tried the Plantains and I got the ahi taco, sesame steak and chicken tinga tacos. Everything was delicious and Brett was really sweet and attentive too. This place is super fun and delicious. I had been to their Atlanta location way too long ago and was really glad to try this location out as well cuz man I had missed their food...and drinks!! I have never had such amazing tacos in my entire life, and that's saying something given everywhere I've lived. We sat on the patio - it had such a wonderful ambiance. It was crowded but it felt lively instead of overwhelming. Our waiter was AMAZING! I wish I could remember his name, but he was so patient with us and had amazing recommendations. SO SO GOOD!! Heard this place was known for their MARGS -- AND yes! They were amazing, fresh & flavorful. We had a short wait, was told 45-1 hr but waited maybe 30-45, yay. They have a lovely bartender outside making drinks while you wait. I got a regular marg on the rocks w sugar and tajin rim, amazing. Appetizer sampler - try it all, so delicious. We came in on a Saturday night with a party of 10, fully expecting a long wait--and it was (quoted around 2 to 2.5 hours)--but the staff truly went above and beyond to accommodate us. They were incredibly patient as we checked in multiple times, always kind and transparent about how many parties were ahead of us. At one point, they even rearranged a few things to squeeze us into a table much sooner than expected, which we really appreciated. Once seated, the experience only got better. The manager came by right away to check on us, which set the tone for the night. Our waitress was amazing--so friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful with everything from recommendations to making sure our large group had everything we needed. And the food... absolutely worth the wait. Everything we ordered was a 10/10--the salsa, the guacamole, the tacos--all fresh and packed with flavor. And the margaritas? So good. We had a delish dinner at @bartacolife Nashville this weekend! Great vibes fantastic food and service. It was super hot, so despite their efforts to keep the patio seating cooler we sat inside. We started with the chips, salsa and guac. All delicious! The chips are full-sized tortillas so you have to come to grips with the fact that your table took down a stack of tortillas, but they are so tasty and the salsas and guac are great. The grapefruit ginger agua fresca was my absolute fave! We enjoyed ours NA but you can add your favorite adult beverage if you choose. I loved the cauliflower (with pistachio chimichurri!!) and the pork belly tacos. The sesame ribeye was tasty, too. The retro pork pastor seems to have been missing all of the toppings so that was a bummer, but the meat was good. My husband and daughter loved the Baja fish taco - they would have had more than one of those next time. The duck taco was also tasty. I loved all of the hot sauces, too. We tried the black beans and the cucumber salad on the side. We were told the corn fritters on the menu at their Madison, WI location are legendary, so we may need to take a field trip. I honestly can't say enough great things about this restaurant. The service was wonderful. The food was delicious and a really great price. We ordered drinks and they were so delicious and not overly sweet. My son left a toy in the booth and when I came back the next day to grab it, the manager was SO nice and gave us a little goodie bag with some other cute swag from the restaurant. Exceptional service like this, I feel like, is a lost art. We are visiting from out of town but moving here in a few months and it just made the experience even more special. We stumbled upon Bartaco while walking 12 South and we enjoyed every single thing we ate and drank. The taco teaser was perfect for sharing - street corn, guacamole, cucumber salad, and the best fried plantains. I ordered the poke tuna and I wish I had a Bartaco in Austin so I could eat this weekly. The sauce was everything with a tiny hint of heat. The watermelon mint marg and honeydew agua Fresca spike with vodka were both light and refreshing. We loved them! The tacos are smaller street tacos but we really enjoyed the chicken verde and Baja fish. Service was also friendly and fast and we liked the indoor outdoor seating because it was a beautiful day. Let me explain how Bartaco should raise the bar. I met my friend here for lunch on a very hot Tuesday. This was our first experience here so we were excited. The waitress was very kind and explained that the restaurant was tapas style and that we had to order on the little cards separately but the order would come out on one plate. First thing I notice was that there was only one small menu on our table so I ultimately just chose based on names while my friend looked at the descriptions of each item. After ordering three tacos each (and not remembering what we ordered) it was pure confusion when the order arrived on one plate and one taco short. Additionally we ordered a large guac for the table and were initially brought a small. Once we asked two people which taco was missing and determined what each one was we finally split the order accordingly. I got the roasted duck, Baja fish, and chicken verde. The duck was heavy on the barbecue but not fatty which I enjoyed. The chicken verde had some kick to it but nothing special. The Baja fish was the best of the three with a nice crunchy piece of fish. We were provided a water pitcher for the table but it went untouched because the water was hot. There wasn't even condensation outside of the container to give the impression that it was cold at some point. read more

From the outside it looks like a place that should be near a lake or waterway as the it's kinda of an outdoorsy airy place . Theres seating out side and inside and have a cool bar area . The tacos to say the least are very small . I mean like half the size of a real taco. I needed like 5 to kinda feel full . Tacos are like 3 bucks each and some go to like 5 depending on what you get . The decor is pretty cool and it more of a touristy place . As a lot of out of towners stop here . The bartender was great and helpful and did a great job. You get your food pretty fast . Overall I'd come here again for the margarita if I was staying in the city . It's a five out of five experience every single time. The pork belly taco is the best taco I've ever had. I come from California and I miss the authentic Mexican and this is the closest thing I can get to good Mexican in Nashville. The fish taco is also really good and the kale salad was a bit dry. This is one of my favorite go to spots in Nashville. I have a gluten allergy and everything is clearly labeled. The atmosphere is modern country. It tends to be busy. The good: the pork belly taco is still good. This used to be a go to place. It was always busy, had great drinks and service had a laid back feel. We revisited for a friend's birthday last week and it is not the same. First, all of 12 South was dead. I did not see all the little restaurants and things that used to be there. It looks like it is being turned into condos. Now you scan a bar code, enter your credit card and order. Food comes out whenever it's ready, yet they still combine plates so you have to pull your food from a plate mixed with others. So one person can have eaten and another person was just served a single street taco. There was no ambiance because there was no report with anyone. It felt like those booths you sit in at an airport where you do all the work and someone walks up and drops your food and leaves. I cannot say I'm excited about returning any time soon. If I want to drive into Nashville there are so many other taco places I will likely skip this. And the last and saddest bit of info... their margaritas are not the same as they used to be. The amount of lime juice almost did me in from the heartburn I had by the time we left. read more
