Always searching for a "true" Philly Cheesesteak and on the West side of Nashville there's a trailer called IT'Z A Philly Thing. The menu is not huge, but the flavors here more than make up for a smaller menu. I decided to try the appetizer 2-Cheeze Steak Egg Rolls...OMG these are exceptional. Honestly they are a meal in themselves and dipping them in the sauce provided is awesome. I opted for the Original Philly Cheeze Steak on a wonderful Amoroso Roll. You can modify the cheese along with the additional ingredients/toppings if you like and I went with the Original and added mushrooms. The sandwich was stuffed, the steak tender and flavorful, and while the Cheeze Wiz was a good option it's a bit salty for me and I go with Provolone next time. Overall this is a solid Philly Cheesesteak and well worth the drive to the East side of Nashville. https://itzaphillything.com/

HOLY MOLY! The Philly cheese steak is to die for!!!! The bread is so soft and warm and the cheese and meat are just amazing. It truly left me speechless.

This is going to grind some gears but.... the philly cheesesteaks from Itz a Philly Thing were better than the ones I've tried in Philly. Philly Cheeze Steak- Really flavorful. Seasoned well. Bread was soft. Chicken Egg Roll & Beef Egg Roll- the exterior was perfectly crunchy while the inside was juicy and packed with flavor. I couldn't pick which one I prefered cause they were both really yummy.

I must say I am very disappointed. My family and I map out all the black owed restaurants we were going to support on our trip. This was the first stop on my trip to Nashville and the food was mediocre at best. I ordered the Philly steak. The sandwich reminded me of a sloppy Joe as a kid. It included chopped up low quality steak with my seasoning to it, With cheese and green and red peppers that were not fully cooked. I was not happy. My 4 other guest in the car were not happy with the meal at all. I could have gotten a way better Philly style steak sandwich at another national brand steak sandwich shot. I'm not sure what kind of sandwich others have taste that have given great reviews but that sandwich proves that it is not worth the money that we spent on it. I really wished I could have gotten my money back.

Been hearing great reviews and my first visit was underwhelming. Philly was way too salty and I think it was the Velveta. Fries okay, but food here is way overhyped.

This is the Best cheesesteak I've had outside Philly. I would highly recommend trying it.

I know that's obnoxious to write but in my head I am still breaking news, not piling on. In any event, there's a reason why so many people have such good things to say about F&F. They're the real deal. Unlike many food trucks in Nashville, F&F advertised their location. So, on an unusually warm Friday night in late winter, I decided to venture over to Elmington Park and treat myself. Despite my best efforts, I arrived close to their closing time. I was afraid I was out of luck for this artisan goodness but the nice lady in the truck smiled at me, took my order and had me wait for what they were whipping up. As the sun set, I hung out in my car and waited for the electric buzz of happiness. After an appropriate wait, I buzzed, picked up my grub and headed home. Because I'm fancy, I poured myself a glass of cabernet sauvignon. Because I'm not classy, I left the pizza in the box rather than put it on a plate. At first appearance, my bbbq chicken pizza wasn't that large. This isn't a large meat-lover's from Domino's. This is artisan pie. The crust was fluffy, interesting in texture and flavorful (on its own) in taste. The pie, while small, was packed with flavor. I could tell these were choice ingredients I was eating. It was a bbq pizza so that means a bbq sauce base -- but to the bbq, cilantro was a present (not dominant) ingredient. It made each bite unique. This was not your usual bbq chicken pizza. Atop the sauce was a gouda/mozzarella blend that perfectly suited the sauce. Honestly, the pizza would have been good just like that. The marinated chicken (seasoned, not dry), bacon and onions added to the new spin on an old favorite. I enjoyed every bite. The fatty inside me wanted more but I can understand the restraint inherent within 'artisan.' That said, I wouldn't turn down a bigger pie. Like I said: classy.

It was so incredibly delicious that I had to find the food truck and come back. I followed their instagram since there's no brick and mortar place and this was at their green hills location. I love that you can preorder it by texting them and it'll be freshly made and ready when you get there. I had a pesto pizza in the past I loved, but for this day, they didn't have it and recommended the four cheese pizza and they would drizzle pesto for me on top. So light and good!! Eat it fresh! Their menu changes depending on the fresh ingredients they have. This is probably one of my favorite pizza in Nashville!!

Absolutely the Best BBQ in Nashville - Honey Fire BBQ on Sawyer Brown Rd is a Must-Try!…read more I recently visited Honey Fire BBQ in the Bellevue area and left completely impressed. From the moment you walk in, the place feels welcoming with its clean, modern vibe and that cozy wrap-around covered porch--perfect for enjoying a meal with family or friends. The star of the show is their slow-smoked meats paired with that signature sweet heat sauce. The brisket was incredibly tender and packed with flavor, the ribs had the perfect bark and fall-off-the-bone texture, and the pulled pork was juicy and delicious. Their house-made sauces (especially the honey-based ones with just the right touch of tangy sweetness and a little kick) elevate everything--I've never tasted BBQ quite like this Nashville twist on tradition. Sides were equally outstanding: the baked beans had a great depth of flavor, the mac and cheese was creamy and comforting, and the sweet corn pudding was a standout. Everything felt fresh, generous, and made with care. Service was friendly and efficient--true Southern hospitality that made us feel like family. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout, this spot delivers every time. If you're in Nashville (or driving through Bellevue), do yourself a favor and head to Honey Fire BBQ on Sawyer Brown Rd. It's become my new go-to for outstanding barbecue. Highly recommend. I will definitely return and bring friends. From our family to yours--thank you, Honey Fire!

Ended up going with the Big Boy with provolone, onions, and bananas peppers. We also got a side salad and cheese curds. Portion sizes of sandwich was pretty good, sides not so much. Salad was fair for the price. Cheese curds for $8 was steep for (I'm pretty sure) not handmade. I'm spoiled from Twilight Tavern's. The sandwich itself just didn't really stand out. Probably the most critical thing I have is I don't like the pricing model. $16.50 gets you the sandwich with cheese and grilled onions. That's it. Each additional veggie was 50¢ more. As a customer, I would prefer something like sandwich + two add ons as the flat rate. Dinner ended up being $40 for two and we only got one sandwich. All this being said, I may be missing what makes the sandwich so iconic. The meat itself wasn't particularly tasty or seasoned. The bread was unremarkable. Like maybe they are counting on a nostalgia factor that I just don't have. Most likely wouldn't go again unless there's something happening (i.e. trivia, group hang, etc).
