I have lived very close to this place for the past 2 years and drove by it many times. Finally this past week I decided to give it a try... I am now a customer for life! It seems like this trailer is ran by one man, and he makes all the food. His menu ranges from Tortas, burritos, tacos, and even cheesecake. You won't go wrong choosing any of those! We had one tortas, one burrito, 2 tacos, and a slice of cheesecake (which I believe he only has on tuesdays) Everything was phenomenal! The tortas was delicious. We got the one with ham, steak, and bacon. While it was delicious, it was quite a bit. You won't be disappointed eating it, but I think the other options are better, depending on what you are craving. We also got the pork and potato burrito, a carne asada taco and a al pastor taco. Each item was 5 star! I could explain it further but I hope whoever reads this is convinced to try it and decides for themselves. As a bonus, we also got the cheesecake. It's a soft and creamy cheesecake with a homemade caramel topping that melts in your mouth. The crust is slightly salty, which pairs very well with the sweet caramel. It's quite a creative take on a classic dessert. Overall, this chef knows what he's doing. The staff was friendly and quick to take our order. Service was fast and accurate with sauces offered for our burritos! The food was delicious! I had the chile Colorado burrito and wow was it flavorful! A great quality tortilla and generous fillings. Beware of the spice level for this burrito if you aren't a spicy person lol, but it was exactly what I wanted and the salsas kicked up the heat as well! This is why Yelp exists. After a while, you're going to get tired of your go-to taco place in your go-to neighborhood. You're going to want to change things up. You're going to want something different. Enter: Yelp. Actually, enter: Burritos La Mina. I have no idea what part of town this is (100 Oaks? Woodbine?) and I, surely, don't spend much time here. But getting dinner on a Saturday night from a taco truck in a part of town you don't recognize is exactly the kind of thing urban exploration is all about. Previous reviewers, I thank you. Being that I can get tacos near anywhere and I was somewhere new, I went left and ordered a plate. Despite being a truck, they have a decently-sized menu (tacos, burritos and tortas). Not wanting to deal with bread/flour, I opted for the chile colorado. Before I was done ordering, however, the chef warned me that it was spicy. I told him I could handle it. After a short wait (I don't mind waiting for fresh food), I had a heavy plate of food waiting for me. As soon as I got home, I opened the dish to find a flaming red stew of potatoes and pork. I made tacos of the (corn) tortillas and ate the rest with a fork. I found the plate well-seasoned but not as fiery as the color implied (a good thing). The truck is stationary so it's easily found. We're rich in Mexican food options here in Nashville. When you have a taste for something different (part of town, dish or region of food), take to Yelp and see what you can find. This place is amazing!!! I was starving and in the area so stopped by. The owner was so friendly! I asked him what I should get and he recommended the steak burrito. I said YES and it was HEAVENLY. Fresh and full of flavor, I devoured every bite. It was filling and only $7.50. The steak was cooked perfectly and the flour tortilla tasted like it had just been made. This burrito truck was so good that it's brought me out of my early Yelp retirement. And so good that he was out of my first two picks, the chile colorado and chile relleno burritos, so I finally settled on the pollo. The friendly owner (whose name I regrettably did not ask) explained that he makes everything from scratch and you can definitely tell--it's completely fresh and has incredible flavor. I can't believe I'm saying this, but this is the best Carne Asada (and Burrito) I've ever had in Nashville and probably one of the best besides my dad's backyard recipe. The meat was tender and juicy, and not dry whatsoever. My wife had the torta de Loma which is pork loin, and the pork was seriously Martin's BBQ level. Well the pork shoulder burrito is delicious! It's the only thing I have tried there. The owner is very nice and helpful if you do t know what to get. This burrito truck is awesome, their Carne Asada is on point! It has so much flavor and perfect seasoning. I love the carne asada burrito without cheese. My husband loves the Lomo Pork, which they smoke themselves. He doesn't love the sauce that it comes with, so he just asks them to leave it off. My only complaint is that I wish they filled the burritos with more meat. Its a bit pricey ($8.50?) for the amount you get compared to other taco trucks. The owner is a really nice and friendly guy. Most delicious meat I've ever had in a torta, burrito, or taco, hands down. I could tell from the first bite how much care they put into their food. After talking to the owner/chef it was clear how much pride and love he puts in. The truck and surrounding area were so clean that I thought they must have just located there, but it turns out they've been there for three years. The one and only downside of this truck is that they aren't allowed to sell drinks, and the market whose parking lot they share has a five dollar minimum for credit cards.
