Not bad, but not stellar. It's really more like a solid 3.5 Stars. Food was decent, good variety, stellar service, but the flavors were just not there. I'm a BBQ snob and I'm really hard on BBQ joints. I'm not saying to not try this one out, but I don't usually endorse big chain BBQ's because they usually don't do a good job. Definitely was not worth the money, the service was great especially for only have one waitress for the whole restaurant due to all the call outs. Our burnt ends appetizer was more like chewy chunks of meat soaked in bbq sauce. Then my 20 dollar brisket dinner plate was more like shoe leather. Being from Michigan we use to eat famous Dave's all the time so when we saw this one close to our hotel we were excited but after this experience I doubt we will ever eat at one again. read more

I did not finish either of them. I normally always clear those. Our server, Davon, was really attentive and very friendly. He made some great suggestions. Good solid place to get some que no matter what time of the day. Service is fast and efficient and their variety is very good. I had the burnt ends and they were fantastic! Ambience is pretty rustic and there are fireplaces as well as wooden floors. Fries and fried dill pickles were really good too. read more

It's Memorial Day and I had to have some BBQ. I've been to Dave's quite a few times over the years and It is consistently good. I usually go for the St. Louis style ribs and that's what I got today. It's moderately priced. I want to give a shout out to our server, Raymond. He took great care of us. They have some descent weekday specials. The interior has a dining area and a full bar area separately. There are some TV's around and a fireplace for the winter months. They do have some outdoor seating in a patio area. They have plenty of free parking. You can purchase bottles of their homemade sauces and whole pies. I think they have another location in Smyrna. Pulled pork was good. Brisket was horrible. The place was very dirty. The walls by the table are fake brick, so there is no real way to clean a rough surface. BBQ sauce splashed on walls. There is some woodwork above the tables that has dirt and cobwebs. No attempt to clean this in several years. Stools, floor, etc., all dirty. If the area where the customers are seated look this bad, imagine how bad the kitchen looks. read more

Ooookkk, thats rare. Walked in was immediately seated. No one was in there hardly...and for a Saturday night? Hmmm Anyway, Server was cool and on point. Wife and i got dinner for 2. Pulled pork was dry, and the ribs were very tough. Not good. Ribs also tasted like they were warmed over from the day before. You know that taste? Yea that one. We had a great visit to Famous Dave's BBQ! Our server, Eleisha, was fantastic and made some great menu recommendations. We started with the fried pickles and they had a great crunch and were the perfect start to our meal. We then tried the sampler platter so we could try several different things. We enjoyed all of the meats! The brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and chicken were all great. Our favorite sides were the slaw and fries. There were three different sauces to choose from on the table, and the sweet and zesty was by far my favorite. The service is great and manager very helpful! I give 100% on customer service. They replaced our entree brisket with tasty chicken. The beef brisket was unappetizing. It looked gray, the texture was mushy, the flavor tasted like days old pot roast and the portion was skimpy. Stopped in while traveling. The waiter was great, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I had the lunch special salad with pulled chicken. It was smaller than I expected but it was good. My husband had a two-meat combo plate, ribs and chicken, both very good. The cornbread muffins were sweet but very good also. Like most restaurants in Nashville they suffer from a server staffing problem. They could only seat half the tables in the restaurant because they didn't have enough people on schedule. Went to Famous Dave's tonight the two young men that seated us were very friendly our waitresses were also very friendly. I enjoyed them waiting on us. The food was very good it was hot and tasty we sit in the bar area. I wasn't very sure about that, but we sit to the side and it was quiet and the bartender who waited on us was excellent. Overall, we had a really nice experience kudos to Famous Dave's and all the employ were helping each other out everyone seem to be doing two jobs and they did great. read more

I had the house specialty, the ribs. I got the 4 rib dinner with the beans and a salad. I must say that if that is their specialty then they should just close up now. The rib were just plain tough, you have to tear at them to get the meat off the bones. I realize that they are spare ribs, so they are not as easy as baby backs but if you know how to cook them you can make them tender. The beans were okay and the service was pretty good. Stared great with complimentary cornbread muffins and drinks served on time. Ordered the All American Feast at almost $70 ( 3 adults and 3 small children) Food delivered promptly however... When noticing no bread being served with the large meal, we asked for a few more cornbread muffins. We were told very quickly they were $2 each. Of course we refused to pay that. 2 things hit us about that. 1. They really thing very highly of their average sweet cornbread muffins. 2. paying almost $70 doesn't get you bread with your meal. Even though we had read a previous 1 star review from the day prior we decided to try anyways due to the fact that management had already replied to try to make it right. Well....I chose FD's to go to for my birthday because in years past it was always good and fun. It had been quite a while since we had been there because it is almost an hour from where we live. It was Friday night at 7 p.m and the parking lot was dark and empty- no exaggeration- 3 cars . They looked closed. We went in anyway. Greeted warmly by some nice gals but there were like 4 tables of diners! The bad- The dining room was very, very bright. Hanging bulbs over every table in bright white. It was very harsh on the eyes and NO ambiance at all. (Someone needs to tell them about silver bowl bulbs). Due to there being pretty much empty, they also needed some music to fill the space and hide the echo of the room. Also- there was a faint smell of mold in the dining room. After dinner I went to the bathroom and the mold or plumbing issue smell knocked you over. Gross. The most important thing- the food- was mediocre at best. We got the All American BBQ feast - as always. The sides were good, muffins delicious. The brisket was almost cold, and grisly. Disappointing, but my dog loved it. The chicken although good was cut up funny- not a breast or leg- just a random cut- maybe thighs? Overall, very average or below average. I know why no one was there. If you are going to spend your hard earned money- you want quality and atmosphere- neither of which they had. The good- the server was delightful. DeAnna I think. Very sweet and attentive. The desserts were good- we had apple pie, bread pudding and lemon pie. Our bill was $150 before tip and I did not feel it was money well spent considering all of this. This is a chain with locations in 37 States? Wow! You could have fooled me. For what one would normally think would be typical of an uncaring chain restaurant, it wasn't, and I was impressed. I would have sworn that it had to be family run with the owner hovering over everyone at every moment in order to The place is spotless, clean, immaculately and uniquely decorated and the wait staff was the best trained, knowledgeable, friendly and professional that I have every come across. There were five barbecue sauces and without asking, my waitress brought out a plate along with some chips, explained each of the sauces to me and poured a portion on the plate for me to dip the chips and sample each. My ribs had a very good Pit BBQ taste as well as textures. They were also some of the meatiest ribs it has ever been my pleasure to have. The portion was also large and very reasonably priced considering the size and quality. The menu is extensive, well thought out and contains a variety of unique items (like a sort of full slice apple type of apple sauce) not to be found elsewhere. This is the worst ran restaurant I've ever been to. I placed a to go order on Mother's Day several hours in advance (for one entree) and when I got there (at 1:45- far past any lunch rush) I was told it would be 30 mins past my scheduled pickup time. The inside had a foul odor and was half full with several parties gathered up front awaiting a table in their small waiting area. They were clearly understaffed but you would think on mother's day they might assume it would be a bit busier than normal? I just hope all the mothers had a nice lunch but from the looks on many faces that was not the case. Be better. read more

Had in it already been given my drink, I would have left. The brisket meat was completely dry, only moisture coming from the chunks of fat that made up more than 50% of the serving. My husband ordered the 1lb Georgia Chopped pork and we were charged almost $50 for food we never even got. This made me extremely upset. If i could give this place a zero i would! I ordered food off the GRubHub app to have delivered I placed the order @6:08 the driver got there @6:40 was told it was still being prepared it was a Pick 1 combo and a pork sandwich with fries! Food was not "ready" til 7:30 . I live 8 mins from the store when i say my food was ice cold i mean it was ice cold. Meaning the food was already ready by the time the driver got there. They just didn't hand it to him until 730. He said other people that ordered at 6:50. We're getting their food at 7:15 drivers don't get paid for the time that they're there they get paid for the order they delivered so you screwed that driver out of money and I had to make up for in a tip because I felt bad because he sat there and waited for an order that was already made as he was told. It was being prepared when it wasn't. If I were you, I would not order food from here unless you are planning to pick it up and even then I wouldn't trust it and I've gotten orders from this driver before and they've always been piping hot so for the fact that it was ice cold, I know, for a fact it was already made by the time he got there read more

Poor service cost them a star. We were seated right away, but waited 10 minutes to be greeted by our waitress, who didn't seem to care that we waited. None of the half of dozen employees that walked by us seemed to care. The food was very good however, just took awhile.
