Our first morning in Nashville called for a hearty breakfast before scouring the area for our next place to call home. We weighed our options and ended up visiting Nadeen's Hermitage Haven based off of the positive reviews as well as wanting to visit somewhere local. Nadeen's is charming inside and out. The parking lot is small but there were plenty of spots open on a mid-week morning. We were greeted warmly and sat at a booth. Nadeen's feels familiar and comfortable. Our waiter was fantastic the entire time, he was gracious and hardworking. My husband ordered the Southwest Scramble and I had the Farmer's Skillet. Both were delicious but we both agreed that mine was the better of the two. The biscuit was baked perfectly and was so fluffy. The gravy and potatoes were delicious, too. Our coffee cups were never empty, either. Not to mention, the coffee here is really good! We will definitely be back! read more

THE BISCUITS! Everything is delicious but the biscuits are phenomenal. Serves alcohol. It's a casual and popular place. I usually take a miss when the parking lot is full. And when the lot is full, you may have to wait for a table. All this to say that the food is worth it! read more

I found this restaurant as a high recommendation on Yelp for Chicken & Waffles in the area. We stopped on a Sunday around 11am & there was about a 30 min wait. The service was great, everyone in there was really nice & helpful. The Chicken & Waffles were also great! We saw a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich that looked really good & the server said this is the dish they are known for because they bring the bread in from Philly. I will try it next time! We stopped by Nadeen's Hermitage Haven for breakfast and had a great experience. I ordered the Kernel with hash browns, and everything was cooked perfectly -- flavorful, fresh, and really satisfying. My wife had the Chicken Biscuit, and she loved how crispy and tender the chicken was with the soft biscuit. The portions were generous, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service made us feel right at home. Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to when we're in the area! read more

Incredible all around! Best coffee by Frothy Monkey...so delicious! They often ask if you'd like to take a cup to go. The Philly cheesesteak is delicious and huge. I've got half left for another day. Nadeen's has your typical diner food. We went for breakfast and really enjoyed the sausage and the biscuits, the eggs and hash browns were exactly what you would expect at a diner. The tea and coffee were fresh and delicious and the service was great. It was pretty loud on a busy Saturday morning. Wheelchair accessibility: there was only one accessible parking spot that we saw. The entrance has about a 1 inch lip that some wheelchairs would get stuck on. The exit was much more accessible. There was plenty of room to navigate inside and multiple seating options including booths, low tables, and high tables. However there isn't an accessible bathroom. The doors to the bathrooms are narrow and there's no turning radius inside. They do have grab bars but even a tiny wheelchair wouldn't be able to turn inside the bathrooms. read more

I have been here a few times over the last 3 years for breakfast because I know the food will always be good. The atmosphere is welcoming, but parking can be a pain. Service is always top notch. My go to will always be the chicken and waffles, although I have tried their other breakfast items. Highly recommend if you want home cooking with the extra of supporting a local restaurant. read more

One of my favorite Nashville restaurants. Nadeen's is exactly what you want to find when you go looking for a local joint where nice people serve really good food in a casual setting with a full bar! Breakfast here is really good and it's served all day. I recommend the Chicken & Waffles and the budget friendly Diner Breakfast. My wife and I now have a go-to lunch order here. We start by sharing the large Poitine. If you're not from Canada, that means hand cut french fries with cheese curds covered in house made gravy. When you're there, it's hard to find a table that isn't sharing the Poutine. My Wife & I LOVE the Wedge Salad. She orders hers with a large piece of boneless fried chicken and I add the Nashville Hot Chicken. It's more than a meal for $14, with bacon, red onions, blue cheese crumbles and cherry tomatoes. I ask for an extra blue cheese dressing, my wife does not. It's the best salad with fresh made chicken for the money in Nashville. I highly recommend Nadeen's Hermitage Haven. First time here- came here for late lunch in a Sunday afternoon. Note- DO NOT park in the Arby's lot next door, park in Nadeen's lot to the right of the building. Our waiter ( John?) was fabulous, kind and attentive. High praise. We had the BEST meal- we each hit the Wedge salad with a different kind of chicken and the portions were huge. What a tasty treat! We live in downtown Nashville and will be happy to make this 13 mile trip back for the salads again. They were that good. Perfect amount of blue cheese. This place holds a special place with me. Their cool vibes and friendly service is icing on the cake. I find it tough to choose between the Philly, Tyrone Chicken or patty melt but the fries hands down is the best choice to make. I sat at the bar and got the Southern "something" it was a bourbon cocktail it was delicious. My Philly didn't disappoint and it came out hot and fresh. Came here on a Sunday night, they have TV's that you can catch the game on. The food was decent, the service was pretty good, and the overall atmosphere was friendly. If you go early when they open at 8am you'll have no problems getting a seat, but if you wait til after 8:30-10am, there will be a line about one hour wait give or take. The service is great, lot's of parking & the food is delicious. The ambiance is casual and they have a bar if you need a hair of the dog in the morning. The outside (old Pizza Hut) and sign did not reflect the hip inside environment. The bar was packed, drinks were great. However, we had a table where an air vent was freezing us and our food. It does get a little loud in the space when it's crowded, and parking was packed, but to have free parking in Nashville is a luxury we will not take for granted. read more

Service was definitely on point. I ate the smashed burger and it was good but I thought a bit overdone (not a bad thing but it was noticed). This was a little out of the way, but it got good marks on Yelp, so we went. We waited less than 10 minutes for our table (busy Sunday morning). Our server was fantastic and recommended their cinnatmon roll as a side, which we shared. He did good. Today I had a server with green hair--she never introduced herself: she's the server with the green hair. This server decided to ignore our table and talk to another table at length about Ireland, Scotland, her fiancé, etc. I had to wait approximately 15 minutes for my drink, which was in part due to the fact that she neglected us. I sat there with my hand raised as if I was in elementary school: the man who cleared away dishes looked at me sympathetically and other servers glanced at her and shook their heads as if this was commonplace for her. When I finally had to audibly say, "Excuse me", she acted as if doing her job was an inconvenience: the eye roll was inappropriate and rude, seeing as how I had to wait for so long. This happened again when we needed sweet tea refills. We were going to order more food to go, but the service made us want to leave: terrible service affects the restaurant's bottom line. I certainly hope this will never happen again and that I can continue to spend money at Darfon's. If not, I don't mind traveling elsewhere.

We chose to go to The Library, which is located within The Old Hickory Steakhouse, simply because we liked the name -- we figured a bar called The Library would be quiet and chill, and it was. All the cocktails had literary names and puns, such as Life of Chai, Gift of a Magi, and Treasure Island. I ordered Fahrenheit 451 (Old Hickory bourbon, raw sugar, Regan's orange bitters, and cherrywood smoke -- they actually set the drink on fire so it would smoke), and my sister had Great Expectations (Zephyr gin, Italicus, lemon, pomegranete, simple syrup, and Zardetto Prosecco). We really enjoyed our drinks, and despite being pricy (drinks ranged from $15 to $18, which, while not cheap, is not higher than most places), we would liked to have stayed for another one, but unfortunately we only had time for one round. The bar is a nice spot to obtain a couple of nightcaps before they close down around 9:30 -- 10 depending on the evening. The bartenders are lovely. The extra dirty gin martinis are very solid especially since they carry Hendricks. They do offer a solid whiskey selection but I did find the pricing for a full measure for many of the allocated bottles to be more than elsewhere. But it is within a resort and there is demand for that if you are inclined. I went for the martinis as that is a good indicator if a bar can nail a standard or one that is extra dirty. I was pleased with that result.

There were fans blowing which was nice for a hot day. The patio is completely shaded and there are lots of seats both inside and out. Jaime was our waitress and she was outstanding! She made us feel welcome and was attentive throughout our meal. One of my favorite things waiters do is bring out another drink before the first one is done. Those waiters are a dime a dozen and Jaime came back with a refill when my first cup was half full. My husband ordered a pizza and I ordered the blueberry chicken sandwich. I think that was the first time in my entire life that I ordered a sandwich at a restaurant and holy moly, am I glad that was my first! The bread was crispy on the outside and had a nice sponginess on the inside. The pesto and blueberry combination was so delicious and unique. My husband's pizza was really good, too. He kept stealing my fries (rightfully so, I could order an entire bowl of those by themselves). The sweet tea was comforting and my husband's IPA was smooth (I had taken a pain reliever prior to lunch so I only had a small sip). I want to come back for drinks on the patio again because his beer tasted great. TennFold Brewing is awesome and was definitely the best choice for our first few days in our new home state. As you drive up the small hill towards the end of the road, you will see a one-way road leading to the entry automated double doors. Was here for a business trip and spend some time at the the indoor portion of the Fleetwood patio bar for breakfast. Quite impressed with the continental breakfast. The design and decor is very modern, a long quartz bar that seats 10, with Starbucks coffee (limited time frame), different juices, and even my favorite iced tea. Freshly made and delicious. The breakfast items has plenty including scrambled eggs, bagels, fruits, yogurt, sausage, bacons and more. Good selection and does not feel artificially made. Out of the many hotels I've stayed at, I have not experienced someone who serves you drinks at breakfasts. Yes, it costs; but most of the time in life, you get what you pay for. I'd especially like to recognize a staff member, Austin. He has worked here for over 3 years and is not only attentive, upbeat, and friendly. Do not be fooled by his young look, he is extremely good at what he does. Went out of his way to make a fresh badge of iced tea bc the current one was out and ensured the taste was good. One of the best bartenders/baristas/servers I've ever met. Amazing hotel. Because of Austin and the friendly staff, I will definitely return to this location in the future.
