It had energy of a long standing family establishment but has been around for 6ish years! They've done something right with hiring amazing welcoming staff to filling the menu with amazing diner esq grub! Hands down the crunch French toast is a must order that crispy hard exterior of corn flakes and the soft interior is the perfect balance and this will be the only French toast I'll ever order!! Add in a sausage bagelwich that absolutely understood the assignment, and we were officially on board. No frills, just good, honest diner food that tastes like it was made with purpose. But the real MVP moment? Sitting up front by the door... in winter... where the door opens and closes approximately every 7 seconds. Just when I thought I might need to order hot coffee intravenously, the host kindly shared her little personal heater with me to keep the chill off. OMG! This was my 2nd time at the Flat Tire. The 1st time was great & this time was even better. Can you say pork chops and eggs, but with a twist, and at a diner in a strip mall? I was not expecting to get the brunch/launch experience that I did, but I am so glad we tried this place out. From the outside, you would never think that you're going to get such a great experience inside. They've got a full service bakery as well. **UPDATE** I'm changing my review based on the owners' response. I found the owners' response to my review, and others, to be very unprofessional. I'm leaving my original review up to show that I was very positive in my review. The only negative I mentioned was an incident that caused confusion for customers AND employees. I relayed the incident from my perspective and I do not think I was being critical to the employee that I mentioned. I only stated what was observed by myself and the other customers I interacted with. Personally, I can not support a business that airs out their employee's medical issues as an excuse / explanation towards a slight issue. I understand the personal connection since the owners' are very prideful, but including an employee's personal medical information / history in response to a review is unprofessional and unnecessary in this case.The owners seem to have a hard time with feedback, especially when it reads as less than positive. Even then, a positive review was turned into a reprimanding lesson on not being understanding enough on a employee's personal and sensitive background and how I shouldn't even have left one because I had the opportunity to speak to a manager in person, as if it was going to change the situation or my review. The owners will respond to any review that is less than positive and it's always reprimanding the customers. If you are not able to handle feedback when it's positive and negative, you should not own a business. If you're going to be this upset and defensive in a review, you should not own a business. I will always support local and small businesses. I cannot support businesses that are too quick to be defensive and unwilling to practice some humility when faced with a less than positive review. I know for a fact that it's not only my review, but other reviews on here have the same tone of response from the owners and it just reads as very unprofessional. While we had no issues with our service or food, we did experience a hiccup that caused a little issue for us and other diners. When we walked in, we checked in with a hostess that scribbled our name down and the number of people in our party. We then were able to find some seating inside and waited. While we were waiting, we started noticing that there were people leaving, but not that many people getting sat. It felt like an unusually long wait given that we were given a short estimate of 20 or so minutes. We noticed the same hostess that had checked us and others in, had left and once she did, diners weren't being sat. Other staff members had stepped in but weren't able to read the hostess' handwriting. Eventually the manager or owner came out to help settle the hold-up, but it took us and other diners stepping in to correct the order of who was next. To avoid this issue, maybe invest in a tablet that allows for typing will help so that way it doesn't affect the business and customers in the future. Other than that, once we were sat, we were immediately served. We had an attentive server who kept our coffee cups hot with refills and made sure we were happy once our food came out. The food was served hot and delicious. No complaints. Great classic American breakfast fare. Had some beer'mosas as well. Just wished they would have some classic mimosas. Sunday morning, we popped in for a last minute breakfast and were readily seated for a table of 2. The service was prompt and super sweet. They had a very large menu which offered a variety of dietary accommodations. I ordered pancakes and a crab cake which both were great/large/tasty portions. Our coffee cup was never less than half full! Looking around the diner, they have very endearing decor, all staff were smiling and working hard. There didn't appear to be any grumpy or underserved tables (even in the midst of a Sunday morning rush). Local great spot - highly recommend for an easy, delicious, and financially sound meal. One of the best finds for breakfast I have ever eaten at. This is just a "simple" diner - with a very large desert case, tables stacked on top of each other, busy every single time we have been there - but people don't care because of how amazing this place is. There isn't much room to wait inside but there are a couple of chairs there. Me and my friend didn't have to wait for more than ten minutes. Classic diner food but everything is fresh. Flat Tire has been on my "want to try" list for a while but I don't make it to the area often and rarely around breakfast/brunch time. While my dad was visiting we decided to make the trip. We were quickly seated upon arriving. The menu options all sounded so good, it was hard to make a choice! I settled on the chili cheese omelet and upgraded by bread to a cinnamon roll. My dad went with the crunch French toast. The cinnamon roll arrived first (which my waitress offered to have arrive first). The frosting was great and the flavor was delicious. It was a little more dry than I prefer, but it was still great! The chili cheese omelette featured a very fluffy omelette, melted cheese inside, and topped with more cheese outside. The chili was fantastic! It has shredded beef, beans but not too many, and a wonderful deep flavor that was well seasoned and a hint of spice. The hashbrowns were perfectly cooked as well, but I do wish they have a little salt and pepper on them when prepping them. The crunchy French toast really lived up to its name! The homemade bread was soft, the crunch coating outside fully covered the bread and added a delicious crunchy element, and the fruit and syrup were great additions! We love this place, we're here at least once a week. Last week and today we had a server who constantly called us baby, honey, sugar or something equally irritating. She took our order and never came back, the nice young man brought our food eventually after it sat under the heat lamp a while. When she came to bring the check I had to call her back to get a to go order and I asked her to please stop calling me baby, she snapped back "that's the way I talk" and stormed off. We recently tried the Flat Tire Diner, and now we are fans! Although it was a Saturday morning, I would say we waited less than ten minutes to be seated. My husband loves a good breakfast, and this diner serves breakfast all day (but remember that they are only open until 3 pm). He tried the Denver omelet, which he said was very good, and the pork chop with an apple and bacon compote, which he raved about. He shared a bite with me and I would agree, it was great. I love a good eggs Benedict, and they have several to choose from. I got the choose 2 option with the crab cake eggs Benedict and the pastrami eggs Benedict. I enjoyed the crab cake, but the pastrami was the big winner. The pastrami and hollandaise sauce was such a great combination. Absolutely delicious! I also wanted to try a cinnamon roll. It was served cold and was not very soft to the bite, so I took it home where I could heat it up. It would be so delicious if it was served fresh from the oven. We used to love Flat Tire Diner and stopped by for takeout after not being there in a couple years. The food tasted good, but for $36-$37 for two sandwiches and sides, it was disappointing that the onion rings were an upcharge and we only received four total. If there's ONE thing to get here.... it's without question the cinnamon roll. I had breakfast...I asked for crispy bacon but since my over medium egg's whites were not done, they had to redo them and I ended up getting new bacon too...kinda limp.. But I got this giant cinnamon roll and it took all my sadness away. It was THEEEEEE best cinnamon roll I've ever tasted - I shared with my table mates and had plenty more left for me. It was so tasty, the eggs the 2nd time around were cooked properly and the has browns and bacon were just ok... (1 star removed).
