Food is usually pretty good. I was embarrassed for my server that delivered this greasy mess. Tom Mead needs to check back in on quality control of the kitchen. Eggs Benedict were un-eatable. We went classic breakfast mode and were not disappointed. The two-egg breakfast with fried eggs, bacon, hash browns, and white toast was simple, comforting, and packed with flavor. Add in a sausage bagelwich that absolutely understood the assignment, and we were officially on board. No frills, just good, honest diner food that tastes like it was made with purpose. But the real MVP moment? Sitting up front by the door... in winter... where the door opens and closes approximately every 7 seconds. Just when I thought I might need to order hot coffee intravenously, the host kindly shared her little personal heater with me to keep the chill off. We used to love Flat Tire Diner and stopped by for takeout after not being there in a couple years. The food tasted good, but for $36-$37 for two sandwiches and sides, it was disappointing that the onion rings were an upcharge and we only received four total. Can you say pork chops and eggs, but with a twist, and at a diner in a strip mall? I was not expecting to get the brunch/launch experience that I did, but I am so glad we tried this place out. Sunday morning, we popped in for a last minute breakfast and were readily seated for a table of 2. The service was prompt and super sweet. They had a very large menu which offered a variety of dietary accommodations. I ordered pancakes and a crab cake which both were great/large/tasty portions. Our coffee cup was never less than half full! Looking around the diner, they have very endearing decor, all staff were smiling and working hard. There didn't appear to be any grumpy or underserved tables (even in the midst of a Sunday morning rush). Local great spot - highly recommend for an easy, delicious, and financially sound meal. Flat Tire has been on my "want to try" list for a while but I don't make it to the area often and rarely around breakfast/brunch time. While my dad was visiting we decided to make the trip. We were quickly seated upon arriving. The menu options all sounded so good, it was hard to make a choice! I settled on the chili cheese omelet and upgraded by bread to a cinnamon roll. My dad went with the crunch French toast. The cinnamon roll arrived first (which my waitress offered to have arrive first). The frosting was great and the flavor was delicious. It was a little more dry than I prefer, but it was still great! The chili cheese omelette featured a very fluffy omelette, melted cheese inside, and topped with more cheese outside. The chili was fantastic! It has shredded beef, beans but not too many, and a wonderful deep flavor that was well seasoned and a hint of spice. The hashbrowns were perfectly cooked as well, but I do wish they have a little salt and pepper on them when prepping them. The crunchy French toast really lived up to its name! The homemade bread was soft, the crunch coating outside fully covered the bread and added a delicious crunchy element, and the fruit and syrup were great additions! The space itself is well laid out, comfortable, and has a solid diner feel. The staff was all really nice and attentive! I cannot wait to visit again! read more

One of the best finds for breakfast I have ever eaten at. This is just a "simple" diner - with a very large desert case, tables stacked on top of each other, busy every single time we have been there - but people don't care because of how amazing this place is. There isn't much room to wait inside but there are a couple of chairs there. Me and my friend didn't have to wait for more than ten minutes. Classic diner food but everything is fresh. Service is great. Coffee keeps coming. The pancakes are absolutely delicious, definitely get some! It's not a frilly or hipster breakfast place - the plates are cheap and the food top tier. Very open dining area, and the tables are very close to each other. Dont expect to have any private conversations. Waiter had trouble hearing us, even when it wasn't loud. My wife's eggs Benedict was WAY overcooked. Thankfully they fixed it. My club sandwich was.... just awful man. I've never expected a comp on a dish. But this dish was barely edible. Ice cold thick cut ham slices. The two sandwiches were put together in a way, that you had to sacrifice some part of it, to even be able to take a normal bite. The turkey tasted weird, stale. It is very obvious that they use precooked foods, and just reheat/rebook parts of their dishes. Coffee tasted like store bought folgers, twice brewed. Reheated cinnamon bun, with a cheap butter icing. Waiter tried deny the comp by saying I ate more than half of it. Safe to say he's seen this dish made more than. I barely ate 1/4 of ONE. Kids didnt touch their pancakes. My daughter only ate her chicken tenders. Fries insanely salty! read more

We recently tried the Flat Tire Diner, and now we are fans! Although it was a Saturday morning, I would say we waited less than ten minutes to be seated. My husband loves a good breakfast, and this diner serves breakfast all day (but remember that they are only open until 3 pm). He tried the Denver omelet, which he said was very good, and the pork chop with an apple and bacon compote, which he raved about. He shared a bite with me and I would agree, it was great. I love a good eggs Benedict, and they have several to choose from. I got the choose 2 option with the crab cake eggs Benedict and the pastrami eggs Benedict. I enjoyed the crab cake, but the pastrami was the big winner. The pastrami and hollandaise sauce was such a great combination. Absolutely delicious! I also wanted to try a cinnamon roll. It was served cold and was not very soft to the bite, so I took it home where I could heat it up. It would be so delicious if it was served fresh from the oven. I had breakfast...I asked for crispy bacon but since my over medium egg's whites were not done, they had to redo them and I ended up getting new bacon too...kinda limp.. But I got this giant cinnamon roll and it took all my sadness away. It was THEEEEEE best cinnamon roll I've ever tasted - I shared with my table mates and had plenty more left for me. It was so tasty, the eggs the 2nd time around were cooked properly and the has browns and bacon were just ok... (1 star removed). Had it not been for that big beautiful cinnamon roll, I'd easily be at a 3. But I'd come back and give them another shot. read more

Fun local place that we definitely will return to. Breakfast places can be hit or miss, but this place delivers. Yummy French toast and good service. The crab cakes Benedict was okay. If the crab cake was crispy, it would have been much better as it was gummy. Hash browns are very flavorful, and the coffee is that perfect cup you expect from a diner. All in all, nice place. Ok, love this place, it's going to be a 5 Star on the service alone. Greeted as soon as we walked into the place. We waited for about 5 minutes to get a seat. but they have chairs to sit on while waiting. We were seated and our waitress came to our table with a big old smile. I said Well, you must be having a good day. She said, that although they were a little shorthanded, she just liked to enjoy the quests and make sure everything is good. Great news. We all ordered our food but just had to share a cinnamon roll to start off our breakfast and enjoyed it throughout our breakfasts. Our drinks were refilled as needed and our waitress checked in on us the whole time. This place to me, is what a southern breakfast place should be. The restaurant was very clean and the staff were just all about their customers. I was here my last visit, this visit and for sure will be back for another visit next time that I am in town. We live in downtown Nashville and have been wanting to come here for a long time. Totally worth the visit!!!!!!!! We loved the true diner "feel" and the theme of flat tires is captured in photos on the walls and a push pin board asking where you experienced a "flat tire". So cute. Our server and every other worker we saw was so sweet and friendly. People here were actually hard at work, sweeping, prepping tables, etc... and not just standing around or looking at phones.... Imagine!! I got a veggie melt and it exceeded my expectations! There were little chopped up broccoli, peppers, onions and eggplant on sourdough. I asked for the homemade thousand island dressing on the side to dip it in- great decision. Our server noticed when we needed drink refills and I always appreciate that small gesture. The fries that came with my melt were tasty and just the right portion. Excellent meal without feeling stuffed. We had the pork chop breakfast and a bene, and both were delicious. My pork chop had an apple/onion sauce on top--wow. Hash browns were perfect. The hollandaise in the bene was delicious. He read an article about Flat Tire Diner and one Sunday post church we went! 5 of us total, 3 adults and my twin toddlers. The wait was maybe 15-20 minutes as we needed a larger table. The staff was awesome! No crayons for coloring so they daringly gave my toddlers pens. The food came out fast and was so delicious! We had a few omelets and the kids had pancakes. Both were okay but nothing to rave about. Service was good and very friendly and kept the coffee warm. Ambiance was clean and airy and bright. The apple compote on my pork chop was a bit sweet and to cover up the dry, lean pork chop. read more
