Great food with a good size menu, amazing service and super cool inside wr cant wait to go back.

The Farmstead is beautifully advertised on @nashfoodfan so we were very excited for our first visit. Service was fast and kind. The restaurant is small and intimate, probably best for groups 4 people or under. We started strong with coffees, a hot cocoa, and the biscuits. The biscuits and jam were incredible, though the butter in tiny packaged cubes would've been better softened beforehand. Or perhaps butter made in house would be a nice touch to go along with the fresh biscuits and jam. The main entrees of breakfast sounded great at first, but the execution was lacking. For example, so much cheese on the breakfast tacos but the cheese isn't melted, just thrown on cold like a garnish. Or the side dish casserole on the pork benedicts dish that was cold. We bought two jams and one hot sauce before leaving. My family and I loved those. Strong start, but our Farmstead visit was ultimately just OK. Great work with the biscuits and jam, though. read more

Friendly service & a pretty good breakfast. Filling portions and good quality food. Hashbrown casserole was delish! We also enjoyed the biscuit basket with jelly samples. I wish the portions of jelly were a little larger it's hard to share and try multiple kinds with such a small amount but all of them were fabulous! We were seated outside in their covered patio. The plastic is not very secure so every time there was a breeze it got a lil chilly. The picnic tables are well loved and very low to the ground. It was extremely hard to hear the server inside. Because it is extremely small. The tables are very close together. Came to Nashville for a quick getaway with my husband and when we got here we were starving, so I went Yelp to find something close with good reviews, and let me tell you, you guys did not lead me astray! This place!!!!!! The people were Super nice, we were there on a Sunday morning and it was pretty empty, and I have no idea why, the food was terrific, I enjoyed everything I tasted. Cute little house converted to restaurant in a Nashville neighborhood! Parking on the street and behind. Greeted and seated quickly! He had a big catfish sandwich and tots that he loved. Had not dined there before, but we were very excited to try their food. We stood in the lobby, for about 5 minutes, while servers continued to walk past us. Eventually, the outdoor server asked us if we wanted inside or outside seating and took us to a indoor table. The server in our section walked past us for over 10 minutes, while waiting on multiple tables around us. We saw multiple tables come in after us and get greeted, receive drinks, and have there orders taken. Not sure why our server refused to acknowledge our existence, but after reading some horrible reviews, she probably did us a favor. We will never return. I was in the area and looking for someplace to eat that was not a chain. Yelp never fails to recommend a great place, and this place did not disappoint!!!!! From the incredibly friendly and homey hospitality, to the delicious, fresh, and unique food options. My waitress did not rush me, and refilled my tea multiple times. My glass never went empty. Great farmhouse atmosphere. Friendly staff with fast service. Tables turn over pretty quickly, if you have to wait. My husband got a seafood stuffed omelet that was truly stuffed and very tasty. The cheese hash brown casserole was good. Biscuit was average; better than some, not as good as others. I got stuffed French toast with blueberry compote. It was cold. And "stuffed" is an overstatement. There was one dollop of cream cheese cheesecake-like item on each piece of toast. The toast was a bit dry. Bad food, fast friendly service, rustic vibe. My wife, and two college age kids were promptly greeted, and given a table indoors. The waiter was very friendly. We ordered pancakes, stuffed French toast, omelette, two scrambled eggs and some side dishes. The omelette was over stuffed and overcooked. Similarly, the scrambled eggs were overcooked. The side of potatoes were small, mushy cubes, that were cooked in some indeterminate way. The French toast wasn't stuffed. The syrup was fake. The biscuits were buttery and tasty, but on the small side. My wife liked her fried green tomatoes. The main restaurant looks like a shack surrounded by picnic tables. read more

Street parking available, front is full of picnic tables. Had the mushroom Benedict and the 2 eggs breakfast and the biscuit basket to start. I want to preface that I do not leave negative reviews BUT this one takes the cake! My girlfriend and I went to this place today as she was excited. Everything was perfect until it came time to order. Our server, I can't remember his name, but he had a hat, glasses, mullet, tattoos on his arm and a black t-shirt with hot sauces or Tabasco products on it. I ordered The Old Hickory which is a Benedict with a biscuit base. Due to allergies to the ingredients used in biscuits I asked to have it put on French bread (French bread has completely different leavening agents and ingredients altogether). I was told due to how busy they were I was unable to be accommodated with my allergy request even after emphasizing I am allergic to traditional biscuits. Meanwhile, the table behind us was granted the "luxury" of modifying their orders however they pleased...this includes removing, adding and swapping various ingredients to their food. He was happy to oblige them with any/all their requests. Once the food came my gf asked the runner if we can order a side of French bread. She was instantly told we would have to ask our server. Oddly enough, the server was right behind her. We then asked the server for a side of French bread which we are happy to pay extra for so I can assemble my own breakfast since the allergy request couldn't be accommodated originally. He stated he would ask the chef/cook. He then came back with the one piece of French bread, cut in half , highlighting that he and the chef/cook went above and beyond to put it on the flat top grill for me. Although after the fact, I am grateful, It would have been simpler to do that from the beginning. The infuriating part of this whole experience is an allergy request as simple as changing the BASE bread to an alternative BASE bread does not constitute an outlandish request or holding up the kitchen by any means. The reason I say this is because I come from a family of restauranteurs that have owned and operated over 8 restaurants. I grew up in the food and beverage industry and have worked every position from a dishwasher to the general manager for my families restaurants. The customer is NOT always right but an allergy request can't be ignored. That's negligent at best. This experience was unfortunate and instead of finishing our food at the restaurant we asked for to go boxes. Once we received the boxes I placed the 1 piece of French bread in the box and took the remaining side plate of mangled eggs and meat and proceed to dump it on the originally requested French bread. I understand that this establishment probably deals with a lot of weird requests due to tourism. However, a simple allergy request to swap a biscuit base for French bread base is not an unrealistic or and insane request because I truly have an allergy to the ingredients. This should have been a simple accommodation. However, even after stating I have allergies due to the quick leveling agents, oils, etc used in biscuits and still can't be accommodated is mind blowing. Also while modifying the food for the table behind us just adds insult to injury. To that server, do better and reasonably accommodate legit allergy requests. That's a huge liability for not only you but the restaurant as a whole. I am saddened by this experience and wish it would have gone differently. $65+ for that experience was not worth it. read more

We had Brunch in this cozy restaurant and left well-fed and happy. We were greeted warmly at the door. Two of us got omelets that were loaded with fresh ingredients and came with a choice of grits or potatoes and a delicious biscuit. Don't pass on trying their own made jams with your biscuit. My husband got the cinnamon roll pancakes that were huge. You can taste the warm cinnamon roll flavor before it hits your mouth. A slice of fresh orange was enjoyed at the end of our meals. Service was friendly and food was delivered quickly. We ate inside as it was cold out but in warmer weather it would be fun to eat at the outside tables. There is a small free parking lot in the back as well as free street parking. We will definitely be back to try their other menus. Moved here about 2 weeks ago and was looking for a new breakfast spot. This place is pretty good. I go the 2 egg breakfast and since I'm in the south they had an offer between grits or potatoes I got the grits and I'm glad I did. It came with a biscuit and their house made jam. The strawberry jam was amazing and the biscuit was also really solid. The service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and I'm sorry I don't remember your name but management she is new and is awesome! What a surprise, located in a small house in a residential neighborhood. Found by accident, we arrived for lunch and hesitantly went in. Found a bussiling atmosphere well satisfied local patrons. The food was excellent! My catfish sandwich was loaded with the largest fila of catfish I have ever experienced. My wife's shrimp poor boy was outstanding. Service was busy but excellent. Wonderful service and food!! We've eaten here a few times now and everything is delicious.

I normally don't leave reviews, but we had one of the worst experiences here on Mother's Day. We anticipated the restaurant being very busy. However, we waited over 30 minutes for coffee, 45 mins for an appetizer, and well over an hour for our food. We were entertaining our one-year-old daughter for close to two hours before our food was served. I'm pregnant with twins and the manager actually came over to the table to ask us to leave because it was a very busy day for them and that they could use the table- and we hadn't even received our food!
