Loved our meal at this iconic New York-style deli. The staff was friendly, and the matzo ball soup was the tastiest, according to my husband. He said he hasn't had soup that good since living in New York, which is a big compliment coming from him. My turkey sandwich was good--maybe not the best I've ever had--and I wasn't sure it was roasted turkey, but it definitely hit the spot. The coleslaw was freshly made, and Jennifer, who served us, was a beam of sunlight as she told us about the fresh Reubens, which seemed to be everyone's favorite. We'll be back to try that next time. When you arrive, the decor and music is more diner than Jewish deli and I would say this place falls somewhere in between, though the extensive menu has the majority of your Jewish deli classics. No muenster cheese, though. Everything I ordered was pretty good, nothing spectacular. The coffee was fine for a diner. The cole slaw was proper Jewish deli cole slaw, though not inspired. The bagel was in no way memorable, but perfectly edible. The rye bread was low-level stuff. The prices are like Jewish delis in the 1980s. My daughter's potato cakes were good. Noshville is the spot for New York deli classics in Nashville. It's not fancy, but the food is good. Parking is slightly limited and tight. Allow a minute to find parking. On a weekday morning my littles and I had an easy time getting a table. They have a good number of tables inside as well as an outdoor patio. The service was fine, cordial enough. Our food came out without a long wait. The Tomato Dill Soup sounded intriguing and I really enjoyed it. It was creamy and tasty. Next time I'll probably get matzo ball soup since there aren't many places to get that in town. My side salad had a nice variety of vegetables. Food was average at best for $20 a plate. Had the griddle cakes, eggs over medium (came out barely over easy) with bacon that was a little cold. Wife had a hash type bowl. Other than the egg and cheese being melted, most of the rest of her bowl was cold. Diced onions were way over powering, and the eggs had no seasoning. Coffee was decent. Overall, the building had a very old rundown type feeling to it. Ceiling was dirty/stained, paint was old, and there was old food under most of the tables we saw. Hostess station was on its last leg. It's a cozy diner experience. I've never been to NY, so I can't compare its authenticity, but I don't have any complaints. The servers are always nice and we got our food quickly. The portions are very generous, especially if you have the griddle cakes or french toast. Very easy to share a single plate. The corned beef hash was really good and I liked the chewy bagel. A friend of mine and I have been eating breakfast there every couple of weeks for years. It's centrally located for us both. I've never been real impressed with their breakfast items, and I've tried most of them. I mentioned this to our favorite server and she said if that's how I felt about their breakfast, I should come in and try lunch. She said they had some bodacious sandwiches. Well, she's correct. Today I had their Reuben, with fries. It was one of the best I've ever had, and it was huge. Their Tennessee Club Sandwich is the best club sandwich in the city, especially since J Alexander's has stopped serving them. Cozy, Deli motif. A corned beef sandwich, which the server recommended, clearly had the meat taken directly out of a can. This was our second visit to Noshville. Both times have been on a weekend - be prepared for a very full parking lot. They do offer weekend parking across the street in an office parking lot. The service is very good. Both times we dined there, our servers were great. Very attentive. Quick to refill the coffee and water glasses. They will even send you home with coffee in a to-go cup -- nice touch. I ordered the Western Omelet and the BF ordered the Breakfast Bowl. He LOVED the breakfast bowl but what is not to love about a bowl full of potatoes, corned beef hash, bacon, eggs and cheese??? My omelet was good. I am not a huge fan of the Silver Dollar Potato Cakes though. My omelet was hot but my potato cakes were not. I traded in my room temp potato cakes for fresh, hot ones. They still were not my favorite -- very greasy. I did not think they tasted like anything but oil. The prices are a little on the higher side--especially for the amount of food you receive. My omelet was pretty small and I think I got five little potato pancakes. $10.49 (I got egg whites for an extra 99 cents). I'm sure we will give it another try in the future. In the meantime, I'm still looking for the best breakfast place in Nashville where I will be a regular. read more

This is real deli meat. Not meat from your grocery store. This ain't boar's head or Sara Lee. Real meat sliced with fat in it and carved style. All house cooked, Had a pastrami and Turkey 2/2 pound, it comes with coleslaw. It was very good. Got fries on the side and matzo ball soup. The fries were good standard and the soup was not as good as in the past. Not as rich and chicken tasting. Not bad, but not great. The waitress was really nice, dirty blonde hair, in her 30s I think. Sandwich 4 out the door Coleslaw 5 alive. Best of the best Fries 3 won't complain Matzo ball soup 3 but may be better depending on the batch. If you want a real deli and not some subway or jersey mike meat, this is the place. It ain't cheap, but it is worth it. A half pound sandwich will fill you up if you are hungry. read more
