I had the El Diablo, made with chicken, onions, peppers, jalapeño, lettuce, tomato, and pepper jack. Just the right amount of spice and the chicken was moist. Other orders were turkey and avocado, chicken Caesar, buffalo chicken, the Philly cheese, the chopped cheese. They also have a burger, a falafel wrap, various grilled and breaded chicken options. We got the chips and guac, which came in a huge portion size for less than 10 bucks. We got the carne asada fries and the fries were hot and crispy, loaded with steak, sour cream, and veggies. Other sides, including chips, are available, as well as tacos, burritos, and an extensive breakfast selection (available round the clock). Everyone really enjoyed their selections. VERY affordable. Each sandwich was 10-12 dollars and we got 13-14 sandwiches, sides, and chips, plus tip and tax for 204. This will become part of our regular office rotation.

Strangely, those cars don't move for hours, so who are these motorists? Parking tends to be notoriously tough for any business in the Belmont area, so be prepared. The food is okay, not the five-star affair everyone claims, but good enough. After hiking several miles from my parking spot to reach this elusive deli, I've had several sandwiches over the years. They aren't bad, but they don't wow me either. The deli certainly slices their meats and cheeses fresh on the spot. But even that doesn't take the sandwiches to the pinnacle of sandwichhood. And my goodness, those booths have the most uncomfortable wooden backing at the most atrocious angle! You'll notice if you sit in a booth, and you might need back surgery afterward. It's still a place worth visiting, especially if you're a Belmont student and are able to walk over.

I had the chicken parm, which I had read about and was really curious to try, and it was excellent. I think just a little more sauce would have made it perfect, but I can also understand that more sauce would probably make it a bit messy to eat. I especially love that you have the option of regular sauce or vodka sauce. And the focaccia is fabulous! It's light with just the right amount of crispiness on the outside, making it the perfect bite for the sandwich. Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu!

The bread is terrific and the flavors balance out well on the sandwiches. The melty ham & Swiss has pickled peaches on it which we normally wouldn't get. I highly recommend giving this deli a try!

After dropping SWMBO at BNA for a quick trip, I thought that I'd head over to "East" (as the…read morehipsters call it) and try someplace for lunch that I haven't been. I flipped a coin on Bill's Sandwich Palace and Fatbelly Pretzel, and Fatbelly won. The store is located in an unassuming strip mall on Gallatin Road/Main St. Plenty of parking. I walked in and saw a cooler full of awesome stuff; I grabbed a small contained of the "FBP" potato salad (they had several types) and perused the menu. My choice was made once I saw "Muffuletta". They offer it heated or cold; of course I chose cold à la Central Grocery style. The counter case was filled with tempting baked goods; I selected a bacon and cheddar "stuffed pretzel" and a plain pretzel with salt. I specified my order to go, paid, and grabbed a seat at one of the eat-in tables; my order was ready in about 4 mins. I hit the road, but couldn't resist sampling the bacon/cheddar pretzel on the way; it was phenomenal. The muff was perfection. Round "pretzel-ish" roll studded with sesame seeds, stuffed with meat, cheese and olive salad, and wisely cut into 4 pieces (a 1/4 of the Sammy was a sufficient lunch for me, along with the first class potato salad). This place hits on all cylinders; highly recommended for sandwiches, salads/sides and pretzels in East Nasty!

You know how the term "sandwich artist" gets thrown around as an ironically fancy way to refer to…read moresomeone who works at a sandwich shop? Well, these people here are actual sandwich artists. I'm not being ironic. These people build sandwiches that are finely tuned flavor delivery systems. The ingredients on each one work in perfect harmony with one another to bring an experience that is unique only to Fatbelly Pretzel. Now, on the bakery side we all know they make a great pretzel, but what you may not know is that they make a cake that will bring a tear to your eye. We ordered one for a birthday party and I expected it to be good but I did not expect it to be THAT good. I'm not a cake person. I don't really have a love for sweets. But now, I have a special place in my heart for that cake. Do not miss Fatbelly Pretzel when you're in East Nashville. Try anything they have on the menu and you will not be disappointed. Outside of their weekly sandwich special I would recommend the muffuletta. Also, the owners and all the employees could not be nicer people. I believe that they truly live by their slogan "spread love like mustard."

He said he hasn't had soup that good since living in New York, which is a big compliment coming from him. My turkey sandwich was good--maybe not the best I've ever had--and I wasn't sure it was roasted turkey, but it definitely hit the spot. The coleslaw was freshly made, and Jennifer, who served us, was a beam of sunlight as she told us about the fresh Reubens, which seemed to be everyone's favorite. We'll be back to try that next time. Plenty of parking, easy to find, and a great spot for families and casual dining. We'll definitely visit again soon.

Bill, or William if I might dare, I Knight thee Epicurean Dean of Sandwich, Earl of Inventive Gourmet Delight's and Viscount of Aioli. The sandwiches here are truly culinary works of art. The blending of flavors, textures, and culinary artistry combine to deliver an experience that is uncommon. I ordered the Pittsburg turkey sandwich. Typically, a turkey sandwich is a journey to the banal, a milk toast expression of a rather healthy yet unsatisfying sustenance. This sandwich, however, elevated this ordinary and unoriginal offering to an atmospheric gourmet delight. The addition of the garlic French fries directly incorporated into the sandwich was genius. Well done William of Sandwich, your Palace is exceptional and should I have the honor of passing your way again, I will approach your portal and once again and beg entrance to your culinary delights.
