After coming here for the first time in my 4 years in Nashville, I can say that the KDUB sandwich is one of my favorites in the city! I love the avocado and ruffles added as a welcomed addition to a classic turkey club type of sub. Add in that it is all on a fresh Dutch roll and it is a chefs kiss! Proper levels of savory and tangy with all the toppings that make this sandwich what it is and texturally complex. The staff was busy but attentive and patient with everyone even during the Saturday lunch rush. The owners are front and center working with all the staff at the counter and in the kitchen prepping all the food and adding to the hospitality and small business feel that makes you enjoy spending your time and money at a place like this. It is a nice touch that they have a dip come with any pretzel ordered. The pepperoni stuffed pretzel was solid heated up, but for me was lacking the option of a marinara type sauce to dip it in. The everything bagel is properly seasoned the way I like it not sparing a bit of open space on the surface and fully covered in seasoning. These pretzels are unique in shape and have you wanting to come back and try all the different varieties, both regular and special unique danish and dessert pretzel infusions. I think this might be the most incredible sandwich I have ever had and I am a bit of a sandwich snob. This sandwich was what I always wanted Al'Anitico Vinaio to be but never was, and could never dream of being. The inside is your typical deli counter/sandwich shop setup. Nothing fancy and not trying to be. The "Hamma Mia" was on the most perfect focaccia I have ever had on a sandwich. Extremely fresh and fluffy, they said it takes 3 days to make! The artichoke cream and homemade motz are two of the freshest ingredients again, that I think I have had. Flabbergasted is honestly the only word I have for how good this place was. I came to a pretzel/sandwich shop and ordered a salad. I'm not a pretzel guy. More on that in a bit. The ex-Chicagoan in me keeps wanting to call this place 'Potbelly.' The confusion is real: interesting sandwiches, bellies. Maybe that's all but that was enough for me to not rush into the doors. I'd been there and done that. But once I realized this was not the sandwich chain from Chicago, I was a bit more intrigued to see what was happening. What was happening was a sandwich craze. Being that I have never been much of a pretzel guy I looked to see what, if anything else, was available for me to sample. Salads. Cool. I can do a salad. So on a Saturday at the top of the year, I made my way to Eastwood and hoped for the best. I was pleased to discover lot parking that came without a QR Code or need of a smart phone.* Quick rant: I hate that trend. It's exclusionary, classist and completely unnecessary. Being able to park shouldn't depend on the type of phone you (don't) have. Ridiculous. Sorry. Pot... Fatbelly. Despite my easy parking the dining room was filled with people. Luckily for me, this wasn't their first rodeo and the line moved more quickly than it might have seemed. The folks behind the counter was unfazed by my salad request. It's on the menu for a reason. After a fair amount of time to make my salad fresh, I was ready and out the door with a very heavy package o' salad. I went for the Cobbster (hold the pretzel dust) because who doesn't like a Cobb salad? I found the amount of food I got for the price I paid to be very fair. I opened the package and began to mix up the iceberg lettuce, cucumber, carrots, tomato, hard-boiled egg, bacon, blue cheese, and ranch dressing. And then I topped all of it with the scoop of chicken salad that came with the salad. Like I said, great amount of food for the money. The taste was just what I expected it to be: creamy, slightly salty, crunchy, cobb-y goodness. I finished the salad and was pleasantly full. So, this is how I went to a pretzel sandwich shop, ordered a salad and had a 4-star experience. And I'd do it again. *This may have changed since my visit. read more

Stumbled upon this place as a pretzel lover and was not disappointed. I got their salted pretzel and bacon cheddar stuffed pretzel with jalapeño butter and pimento cheese on the side. Walking in I felt like what it would be like walking into a NY deli. The woman at the register where we gave our order greeted us with a big smile and a happy hello. The baked case looked amazing! I placed an order to-go on my drive back from downtown, and was told my sandwiches would be ready in 35-40 minutes. On a whim, I decided to stop in early and see if they were ready. Sure enough, my order had just been bagged up for me! A team member also greeted me when I arrived and was so friendly! The inside of the restaurant is adorable - exactly the classic deli vibes you'd picture from the name. I couldn't resist the KDUB - the description sounded like an elevated Turkey Club, and that's exactly what it is! Heads-up that this is a very mustardy sandwich - but I love mustard so that was no issue for me. Also - if you think the menu prices are a little steep, you'll be pleased to know that this sandwich is enormous. Plenty to share, or to make another meal! So I've been twice now and must say that each time I'm blown away by something. I mean there isn't really one thing in particular I recommend other than getting a lemonade with your meal. Every sandwich I've had and my friends have had, were top tier. I mean 0 complaints all around. I'll go in with the intent to order one thing and then I'll see a special or limited time sandwich and end up ordering that instead. Eventually I'll go back to the original lineup. If you're in the area and want something for lunch, look no further. The staff here is super friendly, accommodating, and all around amazing! The Hamma Mia! sounded delish, but when it arrived to the table I was blown away by how much ham, salami, mozzarella, artichoke cream, chili crisp, balsamic drizzle and arugula they stuffed between that beautiful sourdough focaccia! I had to formulate a plan to eat this thing and was only able to tackle half of it. Absolutely gorgeous and tasty sammy! The pretzel was solid...and I weirdly learned that Fatbelly is a variety of pretzel. When you first see their pretzels you think to yourself "man those are skinny but also weirdly imperfect pretzels"...and they are. They are certainly not the prettiest pretzels, but the "fatbelly" signifies skinny and chewy arms with a soft, fat belly. Makes total and tasty sense now! Service was stellar and friendly. When I came in at 8 am the week of Christmas, there was a little line of loyalists like myself who came to load up on all their carby specials for the holidays. They were playing like a techno/rock Christmas playlist and this place is just FUN. All the sandwiches are legendary here but that breakfast sando is truly something special - egg, cheese, bacon, hash brown, all on a pretzel roll. Yum. Specials here are advertised on their instagram and I came on this visit for the panettone, which was festive AF and so decadent. The buffalo chicken dip from their take-home fridge made entertaining so easy. The cookies with chunks of crunchy pretzel made dealing with my family during the holidays more bearable. Also a plus: the parking lot is decently spacious here and unlike many places on the Gallatin strip, doesn't make me feel like I'm about to go towards my death trying to make a left hand turn on Gallatin. read more
