Great place for hot chicken in Gallatin! I found this place by mistake and I'm glade I did!!! The service was great, and the food came out as expected with a cook to order place. I didn't get the "sign a waiver" chicken because I've never been a fan of that... but I got the next hottest down. (3rd base) I'll say that it's hotter or as hot as most of the other good places around Nashville's hottest chicken. "Steeling 3rd base" is great to balance flavor and heat to me. They only have kool-ade and bottled drinks. But they have fair prices. I'll be back for sure!!! I don't know why, but several of these hot chicken style places don't serve real brewed sweet tea. I found this place on Yelp, and it's a very unassuming little spot, but worth the trip! There is minimal seating inside and not much decor, the window to order is also tiny. I recommend calling ahead and ordering to go. However, the food is excellent! I ordered the fowl play basket with the 1st base sauce. The fries were cooked to perfection and the chicken tenders were really good! The sauce heat was perfect and they put the tenders on bread which soaks up the sauce and adds to a nice extra snack! I will definitely be back to try some other options, but the chicken tenders are awesome! read more

Perfect place for a classic Nashville fried chicken sandwich. This is a no frills restaurant where you get good food and a clean table. We got a friend chicken sandwich, fried fish filet sandwich, a side of Mac n cheese, and a side of Cole slaw. My only complaint is the fish filet was HUGE and I could not eat all of it. I went to Fowl Play for the first time a couple days ago. IMHO it's the real deal. Amazing chicken. The breading is perfect, fried and spiced just right. I tried Approaching 3rd base, 3rd base and Home Run! Wow, be careful with that last one. For sides I had fried okra and baked beans. Loved both of them. People are chowing down. Good sign. I go up to check on my order. The girl was super sweet and said it will be a few more minutes. She was just pleasant and sweet. Got my food. No food is worth waiting this long, unless my grandma comes back from the dead to cook me my favorite dish of hers. I will start by saying this place is a hidden gem. Very quaint, no dinnerware, small place. But the food!! I ordered 10pc wings, Mac and cheese, fried okra and baked beans. The wings are dry hot wings and if you like heat, they bring it! The wings were some of the best I've ever had. The sides were fantastic as well. The owner brought the food out and brought some small samples of baked beans for us and a small sample of the Mac and cheese. The first bite brought tears to my eyes. Their Hot is a bit hotter than Hatti B's Damn Hot, so glad I did not get their hottest level. The chicken was cooked perfectly, crispy and crunchy on the outside, still juicy on the inside. All the sides were top notch and were all homemade. Service was great. Took about 15 mins for our order, but that's ok, they had a few door dash orders before us. The restaurant was clean and had an overall welcoming feel. The owner was super nice and polite. Best fried chicken! My boyfriend showed me this place and I fell in love. It's seasoned perfectly and amazingly spicy, plus all the sides are perfect. Staff are sweet and always give good portions with fresh food. Visited Fowl Play for the first time tonight. First of all, the place is very clean and inviting when you walk in, and friendly service when you walk to the window to order. I had the 3 piece chicken tender basket with the first base (mild) spice. My husband had the half bird with first base spice as well. Spice was just enough heat, and the chicken was tender and juicy, and not greasy at all (like some other places). The fries were also cooked to perfection and delicious, and my husband also had the coleslaw which he loved, and he is picky about his coleslaw! Please visit this local gem.
