Absolutely delicious barbecue, and really friendly people. We tried 3 meats - pulled pork, brisket, and sausage. All were incredibly flavorful, juicy and delicious - exactly what small town Tennessee barbecue should be. The loaded baked potato - covered with cheese, butter, pulled pork and sour cream - was enormous and delicious - it would feed a small family for two days. For $8 bucks it was a ridiculous bargain. The redskin potatoes salad is the stuff of my dreams.... in a few nights I will literally wake in the middle of the night craving this stuff. I may ask if they can FedEx some to me back in Ohio. Seriously, it's that good... All in all, this is spectacular, outstanding and exactly what I expect for Tennessee barbecue, and we would return very very enthusiastically. Love this place. Great hidden gem for BBQ. My go to is the sliced brisket with spicy sauce. I would consider this a locals favorite.

Tried them first when they opened. Thought I would try again for late lunch. Several times appeared busy and during pandemic did a busy drive thru business. Not real impressed. Waited at register for long time, almost left, when finally three ladies came in the back door. Board outside showed specials during the days, Saturday listed ???? Asked about the special today, snd they all laughed and there was not special. Inside joke? And was informed they only had pork, no brisket, no ribs. Being 2:30 I pity those coming for supper Ladies who came in later were told they had turkey. Maybe their turkey was claim to fame? . Ordered plate lunch. No cornbread was bun OK? Apparently I was served a sandwich with two sides for the price of a plate...... Potato salad was ok, nothing notable. Baked beans were out of a can, nothing added. Pork was ok, nothing special, two sauces hot and mild, did not add anything to the favor, in fact watery. Sweet tea was good and appeared brewed. Not sure what people see in this place. Great little "roadside diner" that's obviously been here many years... the "real 50's/60's style" that many chains try to imitate today. It's tight inside at the counter, but the regulars are fine with it. I went just before lunch and was able to secure one of the small dinette tables just outside the entrance. The daily special was the grilled chicken, but I ordered a combo of pulled pork BBQ and chicken. Being a native Memphian, I'm pretty tough on judging BBQ, but Perry's was tender & flavorful - I just wish the serving had been a little larger. Baked chicken portion was huge, tender and delicious. Two sides: my choices were mustard potato salad, which definitely needed some work for my taste, and baked beans which were a huge disappointment, as I'm certain they came from a can, with zero doctoring. Hey, you have a BBQ shop - why not kick the beans up with.... BBQ? Oh one other item included on the plate. It's not bread, and it's not a bun. It appears to be a miniature pancake of some type, without much flavor. That's the one thing I left on my plate. I failed to try the brisket, ribs, smoked sausage and "burnt ends", so I will be back. I'll just try to make better "sides" choices next time. read more

Only complaint, their selections sell out fast on weekends! We moved to Cross Plains December 2021, kind of a BBQ snob, and Perry's knocks it out of the park. BEST rack of ribs around, their smoked sausages, can eat cold. Tender brisket, everything is top quality. Not brave enough to try the friend baloney yet. Sides are outstanding, especially their cowboy beans and slaw. They have homemade desserts (they go fast!) their ho ho cake is the bomb. Keeping their prices fair considering the costs going up. Perry's has great food at a reasonable price and a very good selection of dishes. Try the specials like the meatloaf which is too die for. Get the Cowboy Beans and their potato salad or Turnip greens. Their service is quick and correct as they are always thinking of the customers. It is a little sit down and eat so you might just be sitting beside some of White House best be it our police, EMS, or or Firefighters. It is a place to get to know some of White House finest. There's even places to sit outside for a little quieter lunch. Come on in and get some great food. read more

I visited Perry's after a local recommendation. I kinda wish I would have gone to the other recommended restraunt. So first the good; the BBQ was good. I had the pulled pork. The greens we're good despite the fact that they were out of a can. They had put in the effort to season them properly. The service was fast but weird. They were tripping over each other because there is only one register and they would take another order before the first customer was finished. It was not busy so I didn't understand the rush. The not so good; the green beans were straight out of the can. They had a bit of "can" taste to them and they really were not seasoned. Now let's talk about the sauce. Have they tried it lately? Jeez it's BAD!! Thank goodness I tried it before I put it on my BBQ. It tasted like tomato puree, sugar, and a small amount of spice. The "hot" was the same but it had quite a bit of heat to it. They really need to revisit the recipe. Otherwise it's not a bad hole in the wall type place. Im only in town for to the day so I'll never be back. However, if I lived locally, I'd get the BBQ by the pound and make my own sides. read more

Surrendipity at its finest. On our way to Nashville from Indiana we just happened to come across Perry's Smokin Pig, and we turned the car around to check it out. WOW. Now maybe it's because we aren't from the south but walking in to the obviously freshly smoked brisket, ribs and pulled pork felt like a dream. &boy was it a good one! The brisket was perfectly smoked to the point where you could see a few millimeters of the smoke penetrating the finely cooked meat. The outside crust was smoked just enough to give the brisket a dark brown smoked texture and color. Here's where I admit the fact that I, Panda, am a failure. My vegetarian lifestyle was brought to a sudden halt by the smoked pork BBQ sandwich. Oh my gosh. May have changed my life forever. The pork was lightly sauced with a medium sauce that wasn't too sweet! It soaked into the bun and the tender pork dripped down my chin as I bit into it. I say again: WOW. Maybe it's a given down here, but the service was unbelievable. The woman behind the counter was helpful and offered extra sauces-- they weren't even open yet! We came here for the 1st time last November while helping our daughter and her family move out here and loved it!!! My husband talked a lot about when we went back to Cali! Now we are here for the 2nd time to help move our other daughter and her family here and we ordered food to pick up last night from Perrys!!! Still awesome and such sweet people who run the place ! We ordered a #1 family meal and a #2 family meal to feed our little village and we are still feasting on it today! The pulled pork and baby back ribs are just so good and tender !
