They have NAILED the New Jersey bagel!! The "chew" is right and the flavor is great. The selection is everything we had in NJ. (Our daughter loves the salt bagels). We both had Pork Roll sandwiches and while a different brand than we're used to (Taylor), we actually liked this Trenton brand better because it wasn't as salty. If you've never been to NJ and eaten a bagel from there, I highly recommend getting a Pork Roll, Egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. I love mine on an Everything Bagel. Coffee is delicious. Only downside is styrofoam coffee cups. Maybe they could switch to paper. One request - please open a 2nd store in Cookeville TN. The Tennessee Tech students would literally eat you up. read more

I wish I could leave a better review for this place as I had high hopes before giving it a try. Service- the lady behind the counter didn't ask for our names during an extremely busy time. I work in restaurants and this makes it high risk for mistakes. When "our" order was ready, she made direct eye contact with us beckoned us over to pay. It wasn't until after we made it out and home we realized it was the wrong order. There is certainly a gap in training because another individual was taking and calling out names for orders. What I received was somewhat similar to my order but extremely plain and lacking. (No offense to the person who originally made this order.) We also believed it would come out in order so we were called forward shortly after the people who were in front of us checked out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is decent, the restaurant is cluttered and the ordering system is poor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outside of the restaurant has two different signs and entrances/exits. I heard multiple people in line confused about this choice as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My suggestion to ownership would be to make one entrance an exit only to avoid new customer confusion and streamline the ordering process.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The bagel I received was tasty, but fell extremely flat because it was plain on the inside. Despite their claim of their bagel being from New Jersey, it's not as good as the og south jersey bagel. I mean it's better than most of the local ones, but still this ain't it. It's not as chewy as the jersey bagel and not as crispy + toasty outside. A good quality bagel should be hard and crispy just on the outside and chewy inside with flavor. Also, their french toast bagel is just a bagel with cinnamon sprinkled on top. The real French toast bagel has sweet cinnamon dough mixed in together in the dough itself. Also I thought they were being cheap with the pork roll too. Too thin and they only put one egg on the pork roll egg and cheese sandwich :/ Not as impressed. read more

I just had the breakfast sausage, onion, and cheese bagel and I'm convinced this place has cracked some sort of ancient Northeast code the rest of the country doesn't have. The bagel itself? Perfect chew, crisp outside, soft inside -- exactly how a bagel is supposed to be. Not bread pretending to be a bagel. The real deal. The sausage was hot, savory, and actually seasoned (rare these days). The onions were cooked just right -- not soggy, not raw -- and the cheese melted into everything like it knew where it belonged. Every bite hit. No weak spots. No filler. No shortcuts. You can tell immediately this place gives a damn. From the dough to the cook to the final handoff -- it's done with pride. This is the kind of spot you accidentally ruin other breakfast places by going to first. If you're anywhere near Jersey Oven Bagels and don't stop here, that's on you. For someone who was born and raised in Jersey, this place is the real deal! When moving to Nashville, I was pessimistic about finding a true NJ bagel shop, but I was wrong about not being able to find one! When you walk in, there are so many Jersey signs that make me feel right at home. The service is quick, and while you may have to wait a bit for the sandwiches, it's well worth it! I ordered the pork roll and cheese on a sesame bagel. The bagel has the exact consistency of a true NJ bagel, and the pork roll was so tasty. If you don't know what pork roll is, it's a type of ham that everyone in Jersey eats with their bagels! Try it. You'll like it. They also put a ton of cheese on the bagel, which oozes out of your bagel. It's amazing. My boyfriend got the sausage, egg and cheese on a plain bagel and he loved it as well. Again, they aren't shy with the amount of cheese, which is what's a good thing. We will, of course, be back for more delicious Jersey bagels! read more

It's been a bit since we tried Jersey Oven and we wanted to give them another chance so we grabbed a bunch of bagels and cream cheese last month. It was much better overall and our whole family enjoyed their bagels. The strawberry cream cheese had an odd gritty texture to it so next time we'd try a different cream cheese (or just get a plain one). We're glad we tried them again and will be back. read more

I grabbed lunch at Jersey Oven in Mount Juliet, TN. I was very hungry and looking for some great bagels. I ordered the pastrami and swiss sandwich. This bagel shop makes fresh bagels and has a grill to cook up hot food for bagel sandwiches. Service is simple, you walk in and order at the counter. I waited a few minutes after ordering and my food was ready. My pastrami sandwich was large with plenty of meat and cheese on a garlic bagel. The pastrami had a good salty slightly smoky flavor to it and it was juicy. There was lots of cheese to balance out the meat. Some veggies on the sandwich would have been nice, but the sandwich hit the spot and resolved my hunger. I was expecting the texture of a new york bagel, however it was lacking that dense chewiness. Other than that, I enjoyed my food and ordered an everything bagel to-go to make a breakfast sandwich at home later. There is also a deli case with processed meats to purchase on the side. Bumping it up to 5 stars after my last visit. Basic deli interior, The staff is friendly but also real so come correct. Absolutely fantastic bagels and cool creations. Had the hot pastrami and Swiss, on a pumpernickel rye bagel (per his suggestion). 9/10 The meat was juicy and packed to the brim with flavor. My 2 stars do not reflect the quality of the food!! The bagels were good. They miss the accuracy of our order on two items... both were to have extra egg. I'm thinking the "person" taking my order is tuned out. There was a limited supply left of the bagels. We knew it and she stated that as well. So we placed our selection and she "carefully" wrote it down! Good job! Bad job... She took so long that the bagels we selected when there was no one else in the shop were quickly taken by the other staff member WITHOUT ASKING what we selected. It will sound insane to non-bagel lovers, but 5 months ago I bought a house in Mount Juliet, just based on the reviews of this place. I am a bagel snob and have eaten them everywhere. I start my day with a bagel and newspaper (now on my IPad) so great bagels dictated the house location. These are fantastic and they actually deliver them every morning to other businesses around Nashville! The bagels are boiled, then baked to perfection: perfect skin, density, and flavor. What sets this place apart is that they have the grilled pork roll! In other parts of Jersey it's called Taylor ham. But it is the same. I grew up on fried bologna, and this is an excellent alternative. They place is busy, so happy and grateful for this local family run operation. read more

This place is manna from heaven for New Jersey transplants looking for a legit Jersey bagel. Local Mt. Juliet residents don't know how lucky they are to roll up and grab a dozen freshly baked, chewy, fluffy bagels with assorted flavored spreads. Even the decor evokes a favorite bagel shop from your local Jersey town. Bagels are made on-site by the owner who learned the craft as a kid. Plan ahead to pick up as they close at 1pm most days and 12:30 on Sundays. They're Southern NJ folk so they serve pork roll instead of Taylor Ham but - you can't have everything. :-) read more

The bagels themselves were good. Nice texture and i enjoyed the made from scratch approach. I understand the brand is expanding rapidly now which is a great thing as a good bagel is hard to find and this should alleviate the poor customer service. It was poorly received by the staff today I wanted to browse the wares today. The grill cook was very vocal in should know my order before I arrive. Now, if I was at Pats, Genos, or Kats, I would understand that Jersey mentality but I was at a bagel shop in a strip mall in Nashville...well not even in Nashville.... As the brand expands, the Jersey dilutes. Good quality for the area and better customer service as the market expects. Win/Win read more
