Emeraude Bakery is a real bakery and the owner is a baker through and through. I walking into the shop and immediately noticed piles of 50# bags of flour stacked everywhere. I also noticed two large piles of dough proofing and a fresh pecan roll on the cooling rack. Emeraude supports other cottage cooks through the display and sale of their products: ice cream and cookies to mention a few, so you are not just there to buy bread. However, bread is the primary reason you are here. I didn't know about the preorder program (great way to reduce waste) but there was still plenty to choose from. I am a sucker for sourdough, big selling point, and we took one home as well as several pecan rolls. The pecan rolls were spot on: great texture and flavor. The caramel stayed soft even as it cooled, excellent. Maybe that was the duck fat. Not likely to do this again due to the price. I am always impresed when a baker gets a solid crust with a soft chewy interior on any loaf of bread. Our loaf was perfect in that regard. On the other hand, the bottom crust, while not burnt, required a tremendous amount of force to cut through it. See the picture and notice the very dark color. The sour flavor of the loaf was not overly powerful and everyone liked it. Fall is the perfect time for this bread because it goes great with soups and stews. read more

Might've gotten a little emotional here today. The strawberry biscuit with vanilla glaze was so good... coffee was also excellent. Hunter is kind and patient, even came to refill my cup for me when the coffee finished refilling. The space is admirable as well; bathroom is clean and the whole place has spunk, character, and good music. I'm not in the market for a loaf of bread today, but i was instantly enamored with the smell. Between everything above and his character and bit of background he shared with me, I have no doubt it's phenomenal. Imported olive oil... specialty flour mixes... artistic fermentation. Didn't know what we'd be getting but figured it would be good and we weren't disappointed. The chocolate croissant was yummy. I wish it had more melted chocolate throughout but the croissant itself was buttery and delicious. The special, a jambalaya pizza, was good and the little Tabasco sauce was cute. You could tell that's a darn good jambalaya and felt a bit wasted on the pizza. It's a cute place but don't make plans to sit unless you get lucky. A lot of friends gather to hangout and that takes up most of the space. Service is good and I've never don't the pre-order and pickup but seems like they've got a plan that works. read more

One of the places I've been dying to try. The moment the menu drops you have to click that link (highly recommend getting the text notifications) and order what you want because otherwise it would be gone. The Brown Butter Oat bread is incredible. When we picked up the bread they had mini waffles with sausage in them that were delicious as well. The customer service was fantastic with friendly quick pick up and great host to share info about the place. Heading in, parking is tight but you are in and out super fast. As you walk up, you're instantly intrigued by the art on the wall and the beautiful green lights. It makes you have to stop by to see what's inside. As you walk in, your surrounded by all kids of delicious bakery smells. It feels as if you're in a boulangerie straight from France. From the artisanal bread to the delicate pastries. Everything, is so well thought through. It's pure art! Everything that they have is made in house and made fresh daily. So, get ready for a treat. Everyone is kind and welcoming. They make you feel as if you're apart of one big family from the second that you walk in to the minute that you walk out. They specialize in serving up hospitality to all. The seating is limited. So, be ready to take it to go on a busy day. Most items are a little pricey. But, it's fun to come in for a special treat. I love how they have lockers for all orders that are ordered ahead of time. And, they are clear. So, it makes it fun to see all of the orders. You can also see the lines of breads, pastries, and treats. Along, with the fresh bread and treats being made for the next day. Everything is immaculately clean. Which, is very refreshing. We ordered 2 Olive oil & Sinclair Duck Fat caramel sticky buns and 1 Caribé bread. Olive oil & Sinclair Duck Fat caramel sticky bun- This sticky bun was absolutely perfect! It was dense and delectable. The caramel had deep nutty notes, with a touch of sweet vanilla, and a pop of salty goodness. It was rich and savory. Yet, sweet all in one bite. I loved the crunchy texture from the pecans. It tied everything together for a delicious treat. Caribé bread- This bread is absolutely perfect! From the crunchy crisp crust. To the dense crumb. You'll be dreaming about this loaf. The bread is made with baked, caramelized plantains, and coconut milk. It was decadent and rich! It tasted like paradise. I toasted a slice of it at home and add melted chocolate on it with butter. First and let me get this out of the way: the loaf we bought was great and disappeared too fast! Now my opinion is that it is too bad that they sell out so early in the day. We live on the far side of town and while we can make reservations and buy bread that will by placed in a locker, I just wish it was located closer! Would make it easier to get their awesome baked goods hot and fresh from their oven! Owner is friendly and passionate about what he does. I've enjoyed getting to know him and share his thoughts about some of different varieties of his baked goods. So aside from the distance I have to drive, I will observe that the goods aren't inexpensive. I will leave it up to you to decide whether it is a good value. Ps. I love this place. My wife and I recently went for the first time and we have returned 2 times. (Many more to come.) The loafs are incredible and the weekend pastries are to die for. I went in for the first time a few days ago, it was 30 minutes before closing. I was hoping to try the sourdough but they only had three different types of bread left, the guy at the counter suggested one so I tried it. AMAZING!!! Ordered a couple of loafs to pick up for a weekend at Cedars of Lebanon. I got to pick up after hours in their lockers, which was SUPER convenient. Love that this is a possibility. The milk chocolate sour dough was amazing. Not too sweet, but very chocolaty and was something else toasted with a little butter. The "Rosie-G" loaf was used for sandwiches all weekend and was perfect! I wanted to stop in for breakfast one morning, but we never got up and moving early enough. My first visit. Great communication throughout the ordering and pick up process. Staff took the time to personally walk me thought the pick up process which is a great benefit for customers. I am sad to say that my chocolate croissant was too buttery, dripping with butter, lost all flakiness. I will definitely be back to try again, though! read more

We have had many of their baked goods & can say that asides from a small wonderland of a bakery in Iceland (and my mother-in-law's sourdough bread)... we've never had breads and pastries as delicious as what these wonderful people produce. Even better than the breads & pastries is the warm welcome you get when you enter through their doors. From the first time we walked into Emeraude, they have made us feel more than welcomed. They have embraced us (literally even) as though we are a part of their family. Once inside, there's such a cozy warmth... a feeling of belonging there, I dare say... a feeling of love. Maybe I was intoxicated from the enveloping smell of baking bread, but the crew quickly let's you know it's more than that. These guys & lady let you know that they know what it means to provide top-notch customer service & to give you an overall experience that you will not get anywhere else. I am not easily impressed by bread, but wow. Their sourdough is fantastic and the rye sandwich bread is simply out of this world. Grinding your own rye berries probably doesn't hurt, but I've never had rye (blend) bread that is this fluffy and tasty. It's a bit of a drive, but I'll be back. read more
