It wasn't until after we made it out and home we realized it was the wrong order. There is certainly a gap in training because another individual was taking and calling out names for orders. What I received was somewhat similar to my order but extremely plain and lacking. (No offense to the person who originally made this order.) We also believed it would come out in order so we were called forward shortly after the people who were in front of us checked out. The ambiance is decent, the restaurant is cluttered and the ordering system is poor. The outside of the restaurant has two different signs and entrances/exits. I heard multiple people in line confused about this choice as well. My suggestion to ownership would be to make one entrance an exit only to avoid new customer confusion and streamline the ordering process. The bagel I received was tasty, but fell extremely flat because it was plain on the inside. Again, I received the wrong order so it wasn't at all what I was expecting. I would like to give this place another try and hopefully I receive someone else to take our order.

Then browse your way around the bakery and add your selections to the tray. When you're ready, the staff will ring and bag your order. Keep in mind that most of the placards on the bakery cases are in Spanish. So you might type Spanish to English in your cell phone browser to learn what the pastries you are interest in are in your own language. It helped me tremendously! When I tell you there are hundreds of baked goods for you to try from, I'm really not joking. There's a variety of sweets lining up the store walls for you to choose from. There are even some hot pastries and cakes you can purchase from the counter. I was definitely overwhelmed by the choice and things aren't labeled, so I let my eyes do the picking. I randomly grabbed three of the prettiest deserts I could find. One was a cream and jam filled pastry, one was a cake, and one was a cookie. Each of them had such a unique and authentic flavor. After taking a bit of each one, I understood why this place was packed even late on a Sunday night. The best part is, when I paid for these three sweets, my total was less than $5. This little Mexican bakery has quick become one of my favorite places in town with a wide variey of baked goods at reasonable prices. You wait on yourself by taking a cafeteria tray and a pair of tongs, going from repurposed cabinet to cabinet selecting your treats..One of my favorites is the flaky turnover with queso or guaybano(sp) filling. Everything is not as sweet as you would imagine, with just the right amount of sweetness to soothe a craving. The couple that run this little narrow bakery are extremely polite and helpful and speak fluent English in order to answer all my abundant questions. The building is hard to find mixed in with others and a pawnshop and it is hard to back out onto Gallatin Road without some patience. But it is worth every second just to try this gem of a find in Madison.

They only had a few cakes in the case, and they don't make them onsite. We were told the cakes they had were delivered that day, so we took a chance. It was a good cake. The best we've found here in Middle Tn, so far. Blink and you'll miss it. Its at the end of the building and there was a food truck right outside. I did not get a chance to sample the flan or other pastries, but I will probably be back to try them.
