I found this bakery by accident when I was in the area trying out a new perfume store. I'm so glad I did! This bakery would be considered, "an old school", homestyle bakery. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had thumbprint cookies. I'm a huge fan of thumbprint cookies. There's something so nostalgic about them from when I was a child. What makes their thumbprint cookies the best is that they make them with caramel! Most bakeries don't sell thumbprint cookies and that ones that do, I've never seen them with caramel. These are little amazing nuggets of goodness! If their shortbread was a little more tender, it would probably be the #1 bakery item, I've ever had. The magic is in the caramel! It's so soft, gooey and perfectly sweet. It's the perfect pairing with the lightly sweetened shortbread. Since I had the cookies, I haven't stopped thinking about them. Came back into town for the day with my kids and I made sure this was our first stop! I will give you a heads up that the parking is a little funky, but nothing major. I'll be back soon! read more

In the phone call afterwards, they said they can only do the strawberry jelly in the layers of the cake, and I thought it's fine. Around 2010, they did a phenomenal job making me a Katy perry-esque birthday cake for a friend. My dad prefers their fudge pie to a family one about half the time he's given the option. On yesterday I received a dozen special ordered cupcakes for my birthday. Even though 4 Coconuts were ordered because they are my favorite, they were not placed in my box! Speaking of box the cupcakes were not even placed in a cupcake holder. Instead, they were placed inside a cake box. The appearance was to say the least very messy. The banana cupcakes had an old broken up vanilla wafer cookie on top. The cupcakes texture was soft that they crumbled underneath my touching to pic them up! This place is right near where I live and I've driven by it many times without stopping in. And just like Angelo's Pizza a few doors down, it came highly recommended online and I was looking for places in Nashville that did Mardi Gras King Cakes and they were on the short list. I stopped in and while I didn't get a King Cake (too big for my office) I got some employee recommended cookies which were awesome, still warm and fresh from the oven. My favorite was this chocolate cookie which was like a chewy edge of a corner brownie, but the whole thing (you know what I'm talking about). I also picked a couple of their gift wrapped Petite Fours to go with the Valentine's Day dinner I was making my wife. These little glazed individual cake slices (one chocolate and one strawberry) were quite honestly THE BEST most MOIST (sorry I know the Internet hates that word) pieces of cake both of us have ever had. Especially the strawberry. Next time I will try the carrot cake because that is traditionally my favorite cake. I will be back and can't wait to try more stuff and use them for special occasion cakes. My mom loves petit fours, and this was one of the few Nashville bakeries that sold them. She loved hers, which was strawberry flavored. They were a bit larger than others I've had before, so keep that in mind (but I don't think anyone was complaining that we had leftovers).
