I am used to SS in Chicago and it's the same there too. I ordered nothing crazy, a cheeseburger with added pickles and some fries, and an Arnold Palmer (50/50 lemonade and tea). We waited at our table and eventually got the text our food was ready but it took over 10 minutes after that to come out. At one point they tried to bring us someone else's food and they seemed very confused about it when we said that wasn't my order. I confirmed before we left that we didn't make a mistake while ordering so it wasn't something we did. When the food did come out it had clearly been sitting for some time. The bun had not been fully cut in half and this was not even visible inside the wrapping. It was crumpled up in a cold soggy mess at the bottom of the wrapping and was inedible. I essentially ate a naked burger. The cheese had solidified and was not at all melted showing how long the food was sitting. The fries were thankfully not cold but lukewarm at best. And to top it off my drink was incorrect, it tasted and looked like strawberry lemonade. I ended up throwing much of the meal in the trash. The person delivering the food should have noticed this was not up to par and sent it back. The cleanliness was also not up to the standard I expect at SS but considering their location and time of day I would give them a pass. Would not recommend coming here after hours.

The bowl is literally made up of two tiny scoops of açaí that they press down, hollow out in the center, and smear up the sides to make it look full. Once you add toppings, the whole thing is maybe half full at best. For reference, two bowls cost $38 before tip. For that price, I expected a legit serving, not an illusion of one. Super disappointing and definitely not worth the money, even though the flavor was decent. I won't be back.

Dessert Designs did the cake for our July wedding. The cake was the best cake I have ever had in my entire life. And I love cake. It was not your typical boring wedding cake that everyone has a bite of and discards. This is decadent amazing gourmet dessert. People had seconds and even thirds. Our photographer told me he does so many weddings he never bothers with the cake and even he ate this cake! Chocolate truffle cake with caramel filling and buttery pound cake topped with marshmallow Italian buttercream frosting. And NO fondant - I hate fondant! They do all of their amazing decorating with buttercream and it's beautiful. I will 100% buy cakes from here for any future cake needs. Year after year, DD's cakes have been part of many special family occasions: weddings, showers, baptisms, first communions, confirmations, graduations, holidays, and birthdays (each of our four sons requests their favorite DD cake every year for their birthday) Whether I placed a specific order or dropped in to grab one of the fantastic cakes they have in store, the level of service and the quality of the cakes (talent and taste!) are second to none. The sour cream cake with caramel icing is so good it's addictive! I recently placed a large order for gifts for my clients. This local family owned business was super patient with me, helped me decide what to send, and the owner, Leland, actually created a new size of cake just for me! They had my large order boxed and ready in a very quick turnaround. I had a great experience! Everyone that received a cake came back with a similar response of, "thank you, that cake is delicious"! I ordered from New Mexico a cake from Dessert Designs in Nashville to be delivered to a friend who was having a birthday. My friend is a baker and a Chef...he's said that " This is the best cake that I have ever eaten " . He has lived in Nashville for 70 years. An accomplished Artist and Author. It always becomes the talk of the party how good the cake is! I like to order their cakes, pies, and quick treat packs for gifts, too. I was at a Honoree Gala, the last thing, they served was the dessert. Since, I was already full from the dinner, the event planner was nice enough to serve in dessert plates to go. The next day, I placed a bite of the Vanilla Bean in my mouth, it was definitely a nostalgic experience from the past. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had thumbprint cookies. I'm a huge fan of thumbprint cookies. There's something so nostalgic about them from when I was a child. What makes their thumbprint cookies the best is that they make them with caramel! Most bakeries don't sell thumbprint cookies and that ones that do, I've never seen them with caramel. These are little amazing nuggets of goodness! If their shortbread was a little more tender, it would probably be the #1 bakery item, I've ever had. The magic is in the caramel! It's so soft, gooey and perfectly sweet. It's the perfect pairing with the lightly sweetened shortbread. Since I had the cookies, I haven't stopped thinking about them. Came back into town for the day with my kids and I made sure this was our first stop! I will give you a heads up that the parking is a little funky, but nothing major. I'll be back soon!
