Still a great place to come get pastries! It looks like they added more seats and tables outside for the patrons which is nice. These pastries were flaky amd delicious. I don't like banana, mint, or cherry but my fiance loved them and the rest were good too. My favorite this month was the street corn croissant.
Cute little bakery in West Nashville. A wide range of pastries both savory and sweet. It's counter service so easy enough to walk up and pick your options. I choose a variety - chocolate chip cookie, oatmeal pie croissant, pretzel. Each had their own special twist
This is one of the best bakeries in Nashville. Every pastry I've had from them has been delicious. The portion sizes are generous. It's a small shop with maybe one table & a couple of chairs outside if you're interested in eating immediately. I've only ordered ahead, but anytime I've encountered anyone in the shop they've been welcoming & kind. There's parking in front of the building. Love: cinnaroll (distinct flavor adjacent to your traditional cinnamon roll); any of the danishes (buttery with delicious filling), sausage & cheese brioche (warm it in the stove - trust me)
Bright. Happy. Friendly. Stopped by Brightside Bakeshop for the first time today. I arrived right before closed--they still had a small variety left. But note to self: get there early so I can get the fun stuff! I ordered a Prosciutto Gruyere Croissant--divine!! A little pricey (ended up being around $8 with a small tip), but worth it. Very delicious! They have a few tables to sit at, but don't have WiFi (not an ideal work remote spot). Anna served me and was lovely! Friendly and personable.
Always preorder! I got the chocolate almond croissant (weekends only!) and the coconut cream puff pastry. It had been a long time since I had Brightside, and I want to preface this by saying that they used to be my favorite croissant by a landslide. I was sadly disappointed this time around. The croissant was smaller than they used to be (maybe it was just mine?) and it wasn't as flaky as I remember them. It seemed to lack depth and was flat. I was so sad. The coconut cream on the puff pastry was delicious. 10/10 for sure. The puff pastry left a lot to be desired, but I could have eaten an entire bowl of the cream! Maybe I just had it hyped up in my mind or maybe I've just had too many other really spectacular pastries since I've had Brightside, but unfortunately I was pretty bummed out this time around. I'll give it a go again soon, though, because maybe it was just an off day!

Brightside is our favorite local bakery! We live close and order patties at least once a month. I love the rotating menu. Every single pastry is a beautiful piece, and the taste is always on point!

You can order online starting at 3pm the day before pickup, or go in person the morning of pickup (8-12noon). They sell out often, so definitely recommended ordering ahead. Have yet to try a pastry or cookie I haven't liked.
Brightside NEVER disappoints! I love their rotating weekend specials. It makes you want to come back for more as the pastries are always super creative and built out by their team. At the Nations locations, there's easily accessible parking up front, outdoor seating if you'd like, and the employees are always so warm and welcoming. Not only are the pastries always to die for, they make it so convenient to order next day/same day with ONLINE ORDERING! I cannot tell you how many times I've walked into a Nashville pastry shop and they're cleared out by 10am. And I cannot tell you how many times I've placed a Brightside order at 1am for the next day.... If you're not an early bird, Brightside's online ordering is for you. You can pick up whenever before close. They have cubbies inside where you find your magical Brightside box with your name on it and you're out the door! I just love them so much. Please go support them as they're a local shop and have lots to offer!
With accolades pouring in, a plethora of glowing recommendations from friends, and near-perfect ratings on every user-driven platform, Brightside has been on my local bucket list for several years now. I had to see what all the hype was about, and I finally made it. And it lived up to the billing! Yup, there's a reason Brightside is Nashville's top-rated bakery! Owner Andrea Borchers was trained at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, using that knowledge to gift our city with the most beautiful pastries you'll ever eat! Having personally sampled some of Europe's best bakeries, I can vouch that Brightside is remarkably comparable! The Cheesecake Streusel Danish is probably my top pick, a delicately textured yeasty swirl made of croissant dough with crispy gems of sugar streusel and a lusciously creamy cheesecake topping. I'd say it's easily one of the top three sugary items you'll find in Nashville! The Cinnaroll has always been the centerpiece of the menu since Borchers was peddling pastries at the Farmers Market in nearby Richland Park a decade ago. And this soft, elegant brioche with cinnamon and brown sugar is spectacular! The Sunshine Roll is also highly recommended, a cinnamon roll of sorts (made of croissant dough) coated with sugar and the subtle essence of orange zest! Honestly, you cannot go wrong at Brightside! Order anything and you'll be amazed! But items go fast, so it's wise to preorder on their website the day before!
Honestly amazing. So much so that I'd drive the 3hrs from my house to go back. I got the March special cherry cheesecake and a cheese danish for a friend. Both were incredibly flaky and full of flavor. Staff is extremely kind and helpful and the shop is clean and welcoming.
Tiramisu Maritozzi: 10/10 berry oat streusel danish: 10/10 chocolate croissant: 8.5/10 new pastry ratings! the Tiramisu Maritozzi and chocolate chip cookie are the best things i've ever had here!! the Tiramisu Maritozzi is my all time favorite, one of the best desserts i've ever eaten. i'm giving a lot of their stuff 10/10 but this one is actually like 12/10. i think it's only here for july so sad, if you are the owner and reading this please make this pastry a staple. i preordered this time and it was in a box on the shelf when we got there, super convenient and great i recommend ordering because they can sell out very quickly!

Brightside Bake Shop is my absolute latest discovery, and I cannot believe I missed this place for so long.First off, I am immensely grateful whenever a bakery has super convenient parking right outside. I arrived early around 8:00 a.m. on a Saturday and immediately noticed a steady stream of people pulling up, grabbing bakes, and heading out. The staff was incredibly cheerful and welcoming, especially for a busy Saturday morning and I really appreciate that. The bakery's display case looked stunning, with every pastry and cookies looking more tempting than the last. I spotted a gorgeous mango croissant that caught my eye, though I decided to save that one for a return trip. I really appreciate a bakery that offers a great balance between savory and sweet options. Our order included an Everything Bagel Croissant, a Prosciutto Croissant, an Almond Chocolate Croissant, and a Monkey Bread. The Everything Bagel Croissant was an absolute genius combination. With a dollop of cream cheese right in the center and everything bagel seasoning on top, it brought the absolute best of my two favorite breakfast worlds together. The Prosciutto Croissant apparently tasted good, my husband claimed! On the sweet side, I thought the Almond Chocolate Croissant was decent. The frangipane was tasty, though a bit on the sweeter side, and I wish there was a bit more dark chocolate to balance that sweetness out. The real star of the show for me, however, was the Monkey Bread. It was gooey, pillowy, incredibly generous with the caramel, and loaded with sticky pecans. It felt like total perfection. I am definitely returning soon to try more. read more
Stopped in on a Sunday morning around 10am and had an unusually easy experience, parking was available right out front and the shop was completely empty when I walked in. They had a solid selection of pastries available, though no cookies that morning (I've had them here before, so I was a little disappointed to miss those). The staff member immediately recommended the cinnamon roll, so I went with that. I took it home and warmed it up before sharing it with my family, and that definitely made a difference, it was excellent warm. I don't think it would've had the same impact eaten cold. Service was quick, in-and-out in just a few minutes. I didn't notice much in terms of seating, so it seems more grab-and-go than a place to linger. Overall, simple visit but a very strong cinnamon roll recommendation. read more

I stopped by here after a trail run (bad idea, I know, but I was meeting friends later and wanted to bring some goodies). I nearly missed it as it appears to be one of several business in an old church! What a great use of space, but def will need some getting used to. The inside was bright and chearful, fitting of the name. The staff was also kind, although my interaction was brief. I got myself an almond croissant and then took to my friends 2 churro croissants and 2 plain ones. I ate the almond one in the car... it was okay, but the filling seemed more like a cream/custardy filling vs the traditional milled almond filling. Wasn't bad, just wasn't what I wanted. My friends and I loved the plain and churro croissants. The size is great and they were perfectly fluffy. I even had one left over the following morning and just heated it for a few secs in the microwave (don't judge) and it was still so good. I def want to try a few more of their sweet treats. read more

The best bakery in Nashville. All the pastries I've tried are top notch. I like to pretend I'm in Paris, they're that good. The staff are also very sweet. The change the menu monthly which I love. It's best to preorder because they sell out quick! read more
This place is a special gem in the Nations. They change the menu seasonally, though some staples remain. Everything is baked fresh with great quality ingredients. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend preordering on their website the evening before! The cinnamon rolls are their signature pastry, but honestly, everything I've tried there is great. The baklava croissant was my favorite of this month's specials. Lots of flakey layers and not too sweat. Overall, a great local business. read more

Yall.... I HAVE A NEW BAKERY TO LOOK FORWARD TOO!!!!! Yes, I was yelling! The pan aux raisin .... they play too much! Somebody's trying to get married again! Best believe I will be breaking my neck to go way to the west side and just order about six of those alone. And no, I'm not sharing! Moving forward and don't dare touch my pan aux raisin!!! My grandson devoured all of the custody part of his coconut custard pastry. Was too funny because he didn't even want to share the bread even though he didn't eat it. LOL, the chocolate croissant... I didn't eat until 3 days later. And it was still the bomb! I was not a fan of the cookie. However, my daughter devouted it. But who cares because they definitely have one pastry that will always be my favorite! Get ready to see me on Sundays people! read more
This bakery is in a fairly suburban location next to a brewery with little to no overlap in operating hours, so it is quiet and an easy in and out. The spread looked marvelous. They had only one or two savory options that I wouldn't order and coffee but no other beverages. This was not a special diet kind of place either (not that you'd have trouble finding that niche filled somewhere in Nashville). However, grading solely on the quality of the sweet pastries I ordered, they were top notch, with complex fruit and spice flavors like Black Forest and Chai Pear. They were also moist and texturally pleasant, which is partly a credit to the new cooler I used to transport them, but will certainly reflect how they would taste if eaten fresh. And I would definitely recommend stopping in for a fresh pastry from here. read more
I've found yet another good bakery here in Nashville! I came across Brightside on social media and made a mental note that I wanted to try them out for a quick breakfast on the weekend. I got that chance, and ordered the ham and cheddar brioche and my boyfriend got the sausage and cheddar brioche. Mine was good, but a tad doughy on the inside. I had some of his sausage and next time I would definitely get that! They are pretty large and 1 will definitely fill you up. Inside the bake shop was rows of other baked good that looked delicious. Next time I'll be sure to come back with a sweet tooth! read more

This place is amazing. You can taste the handmade passion in the pastries. I had the Creamy Jalapeno Crunch Croissant that was light, flaky & slightly spicy, the crucnch was a nice touch. I also tried the Chocolate Coconut Cream Puff Pastry - all the flavors were balanced & it wasn'ttoo sweet. I'll be back for sure. read more

Everything this shop makes is perfection. I started off getting there stuff from Red Bicycle and now I go straight to the source. Their curbside pickup in the West location is super easy. You order online, pull up to get your order, and someone brings out your stuff. I have tried a little of everything from their menu: three cheese, berry, sausage & cheese, s'mores. Sweet or savory, it is the best of the best. read more

This is only the second bakery I have visited where I have been impressed with the service, quality and where every item is delicious! The other one is in Portland Maine, so unless you're going on a trip this should be your only bakery you visit in the city. The absolute best gigantic chocolate chip cookies and the apple puff tart is a flaky buttery sin. I hate frittatas, but their take on the classic is to die for. This is a Nashville - must! read more

Creative and absolutely delicious croissants and other baked goods! Prosciutto Gruyere Croissant: 4/5 Loved the savory combo of prosciutto and gruyere cheese, and the croissant itself was perfectly buttery and flaky. Only wish that the prosciutto and gruyere cheese were distributed more evenly inside the croissant like the thyme, as the bites with prosciutto were overwhelming salty since it was rolled up on itself. Carrot Cake Croissant: 4/5 Creative fusion of a classic dessert with a croissant. The almond frangipane and candied pecans contributed a great nutty flavor that was delicious in and of itself, but since this was advertised as a "carrot cake" croissant, I would have liked to have seen the candied carrot included within the croissant itself instead of only having a sliver on top. Ham and Mushroom Breakfast Strata: 5/5 Tasty savory bread pudding loaded with ham, mushrooms, onions, and gruyere. Would recommend warming it up in the oven or microwave before digging in. Caramel Pecan Sticky Bun: 5/5 I appreciated how this was stuffed full of pecans in addition to the pile of pecans on top. The brioche was soft as well, and the caramel delightful sticky and sweet. read more

I love pastries and am so glad Brightside exists. The croissants are the best I have had in Nashville and are reminiscent of the ones I have had in Paris. The layers are beautiful, the flavor is so delicate and light. The chocolate croissant and the chocolate almond croissant are delicious. Even the savory bakes are amazing. The potato gruyere croissant and the everything croissant are great. Haven't had the chance to try the three cheese brioche one, but that is next on my list. Due to covid, they are only operating as a pick up service. So you have to order online and then pick it up. Their orders for next day open at 3:00 pm. Would highly recommend ordering ahead of time because these buttery-goodness babies get sold out. read more
