I had been seeing Five Daughters Bakery all over TikTok, so I knew I had to check it out when I was in Nashville, and it definitely lived up to the hype. I tried the carrot and vanilla crème donuts, and both were delicious. The vanilla crème donut had a ton of flaky layers and a really rich, smooth vanilla flavor that wasn't overly sweet. You can tell a lot of care goes into how these are made. But the carrot donut completely stole the show for me. The combination of the soft donut with the cream cheese filling was unreal. It was perfectly balanced and honestly one of the best donuts I've had. Staff were friendly and the store was very well kept. Very pink! Some foodie stops live up to the hype... and then there's Five Daughters Bakery in the 12 South neighborhood that completely exceeds it. This spot was a must-visit on our Nashville trip, and I can confirm... I'm still dreaming about those famous 100-layer doughnuts. They're like the perfect cross between a pillowy croissant and a doughnut, with flaky layers and the most decadent fillings. We tried the King Kong, The Huckleberry, The Purist, and the Chocolate Sea Salt, and every single one was delicious and totally different from the next. The Purist actually ended up being my favorite (which surprised me!) -- sometimes simple and classic just wins. The Huckleberry was a very close second with the perfect sweet berry flavor. If you ever find yourself in Nashville or Atlanta, do yourself a favor and stop by. This bakery has been on my list for years. I didn't get a chance to stop by last year but I had a few hours to myself and stopped by for coffee and a donut at one of their downtown locations. TBH my expectations were low because a lot of times when you see aesthetically pleasing photos of pastries on social media the food isn't always great. We went here via a recommendation from the folks at the Rustler Hat Co. They explained how the coffee was extremely strong and the donuts there were so delicious that you had to be careful of not eating six by yourself. So myself and a colleague went to grab a quick afternoon snack. We were there probably around 3:45 and it was pretty busy. There were roughly eight other guests in the store and the individual behind the counter was working extremely hard to take orders, make drinks, get the different Donuts people were asking for, and still do it all with a smile. I ended up getting one of the pre-made drinks at was done with oat milk. And it was extremely delicious. The oat milk really brought out the flavors of the coffee which is something I really admire in pre-can drinks. My colleague ordered a latte for herself. She appreciates her drinks being on the sweeter side, and it was definitely made perfect for her as she finished almost half of it on the walk back to the store. I ended up getting one of the small donuts to try it out considering the warning we got from the folks at the hat Co. It is definitely delicious. It might have been because it was more towards the end of the day. The donut didn't taste as fresh and it felt like it needed just a little bit more glaze on it. My suggestion there is try to go when they are fresh out the oven so you can experience all the flavors. On my birthday trip to nashville this past weekend I had a list on places I wanted to try . Five daughters bakery was on that list of places . We went to the bakery located on 12th South . We went around 11:30 am and there was no line . We were serviced right away I order the vanilla crème donut . We decided to sit in the side of the bakery and eat this donut . This location has seating on the side of the bakery and in front of the bakery . Now to the donut, amazing and definitely worth the hype. I have never had a donut that's light and airy with vanilla crème filling that melts in your mouth , which a delicious crème icing on top. It was soo good I went back inside and a chocolate donut and the King Kong donut . And they were all amazing . The King Kong donut does have bacon on top but if you're not a bacon lover please still try the donut . They do not only sell donuts but they also sell cookies too.
