This was a destination spot to hit as we had seen it on TV and it did not disappoint as all....located in a really cool looking food court (Lots of great selections) they were friendly and had a decent selection considering it was later in the day...we went with the King Kong, Summer Berry Crisp, Churro Crunch and the mini Cold Brew Glaze...No one was better than the other...It was the perfect Sugar Rush to get us back on the road.
The staff are so kind! Went there for the vegan donuts. So happy they offer them. I wish they had more flavors for the vegan donuts or maybe mini ones. But understand the demand has to be there. Thanks so much for offering vegan donuts.
Delicious donuts with fun seasonal flavors! I ordered my donuts online, and they were ready as I stepped up to the counter. The lemon icebox and strawberry shortcake donuts were incredible. The actual donut part is a little too wet, but the fresh fruit fillings/icings were perfectly flavored and sweetened.
I should be an ambassador for Five Daughters. When people come in town, I don't let them leave without trying a donut. When I'm in another city where they have a store, I take people to get donuts. No one has been disappointed yet. When I go visit family, they expect me to bring some. These are in my top two of best donuts. The Purist is as good as it gets & only seems to get better. On my last visit I tried their breakfast sandwiches, and of course, they were good. This location is in the L & L Market, so parking can be plentiful depending on the time of day. You'll need to validate to get at least free one- hour parking. If you're lucky, you can find free street parking. Love: Purist (fluffy, crispy, just right); breakfast sandwich (biscuit layered, fluffy, crispy edges, tasty bacon) Like: apple fritter (crispy in all the right spots, wish there were more apples in it)
Had to try out this donut joint based on the reviews and the layers everyone is talking about. It's a very interesting take as they definitely have multiple layers. Unique flavors and I'm always a sucker for a maple bacon! If you want to try an assortment they have minis, which are the perfect size.
This donut was absolutely amazing. I was craving a fall treat and I ordered this doughnut. The service was excellent and I asked the cashier what fall donut did she recommend and this was one of them. This is Five Daughter's location was inside of LNL market . L & L market is a great place for dates, family and friends or a little solo adventure !!
I went here today for the first time and boy was I glad I did. I got the maple glazed donut and it was literally the best donut I've ever had. My only regret was only buying one. The service here was wonderful and it was extremely clean. I can't wait to go back next weekend and buy a bunch more. I want to try them all!!
Confession: I'm not a donut fan. I'm more of a 'coffee and something savory' kind of person. So when I bit into their famous 100-layer donut, my taste buds basically filed a complaint with HR. It was like eating a croissant that went on spring break and never came back. But judging by the blissful faces of the true donut disciples around me, this place is their holy land. Too sweet for me, but apparently just sweet enough for the cult of the cronut.
Nice bakery with good customer service. I will definitely return. Had the sugar cookie which was soft and flavorful. We also got the Boston Bremen pie donut and a vanilla pastry. This location is in a shared shopping area with other stores. There is parking it it's only for 15 minutes so you can't stay long and walk around. Hope you enjoy your treats. I did!
For starters the address on here is wrong, its not 3814 its 3820 and its inside the big brick building. This isnt a regualr donut shop. They sell cronuts and they had a bunch of gluten free donuts if your into that. I got the vanilla cronut and the vietnamese coffee. Both were tasty but they should change the name of "Vietnamese coffee". Vietnamese coffee is very very strong/bold coffee because they brew coffee with coffee. But this donut had a mild coffee flavoring. Plus definitely not worth $11.52 for 2 donuts.
Took these home and warmed them up before eating. The maple quinnamon is a fun play on the traditional cinnamon role but it's nothing special. A yummy but pricey treat. I'll come back another time to try the 100 layer donuts.
I wanted so bad to be screaming from the rooftops how much I loved this place. The doughnuts bases themselves are great. Don't get me wrong, the 100 layers concept is awesome, but the toppings plus fillings weren't hitting the mark for me and we tried 3 different ones. I'm obsessed with donuts. That's my favorite dessert treat but these ones were just not what I was dreaming of. Brownie batter was most definitely GOOD, but not over $5 good. The Cinnamon crunch one was so overly cinnamon flavored I wiped off some of the frosting (and I love cinnamon). The Monster donut was my big let down. I love bacon plus sweet on anything and everything but this one tasted like there was bacon grease piped throughout the whole thing. It was as if it was dropped in a vat of it and I was eating spoonfuls of grease instead of frosting. My husband said the same thing. I actually got a stomach ache after eating that one (I did eat all 3 at least 4 hours apart and just 1/2 at a time). I wanted so much for this to be awesome. Maybe next time I'll try different flavors and I'll be in love. The staff was great though.
Love, love, love their donuts! My personal favorite is the Purist. It is simply delicious and perfect. I love shopping at the L&L market and grabbing a mini or two--okay, fine, three--as a sweet treat!

Doughnuts: 10/10- so delicious and yummy Service: 10/10 Ambiance: a great place to visit for Sunday morning doughnuts. Spacious enough for my toddler to "run" around and explore. Plenty of seating, super clean, and bonus that there is an Honest coffee roasters right next to it. Love visiting this location and will be back! read more
Cute little shop in L&L market. I've been here several times, always Sunday after church around 10am. Not too busy and a great place to bring kids because there is plenty of space. There is a coffee shop next door which is a plus. There is parking outside that's free for 3 hours. The 5 daughters is always clean and the people are friendly. The donuts are VERY sweet so typically I eat half. Today we tried the vanilla crème, maple glazed and chocolate sprinkle (yeast). The vanilla crème and maple glazed both had filling and were a bit overpowering. My kids didn't like either. I prefer the donuts without the creme because they are less sweet. read more
Went on a Sunday morning at the L&L Market location and service was quick and friendly. Possibly a smaller selection compared to other locations but understandable due to the size of this location. The storefront is cute and modern among the other businesses in the market. I tried a mini Brownie Batter layered donut and a yeast raised Strawberry Field donut. Personally preferred the yeast raised but both were delicious and unique. Totally can taste the better ingredients and love from a typical chain donut place which will not be mentioned here haha! We were heading back home from a weekend trip and I mentioned this place. We decided to order a dozen and OMG too much to eat but at the same time every single one has been so delicious. You can taste the time they put into each donut. We will be back next time we're in Nashville! read more

I don't know how I've gone this long without trying Five Daughter's Bakery. It is an icon on Twelve South for tourists but even as a local I will say it deserves the hype. In addition to Twelve South there are a few other locations around Nashville. I went to the one inside L&L Market today since it is a bit more parking friendly. The donuts are expensive (about $5 a piece) but they are also huge. They have mini donuts too but only in some flavors. They also make paleo donuts, yeast donuts and other baked goods like cookies and orange rolls. I tried the blueberry lemon, purist and brownie batter. The blueberry lemon was probably my favorite. It was dense but also light and fluffy and just the right combo of sweet and sour. The purist was a classic that came in a close second. I didn't love the brownie batter as much as I thought I would but it was still good. It was filled with chocolate which is always a plus! I can't wait to be back and try more flavors (they rotate every month). read more

Amazing cronut! BEST DONUT IVE EVER HAD! Tried the vanilla cream and mini blueberry lavender. Incredible flavors and texture. Not too sweet, thank goodness. Mind blowing texture and fluffiness. I did not feel sick like I would on a regular donut. So satisfying... unlike other donut companies. Awesome location in the food hall, lots to shop and enjoy. Staff was helpful and friendly. This place is a must if you want donuts. They have so many different flavors that you won't get at a normal mass-donut shop. We got the Mini Blueberry Lavender and Mini Fudge Cookie donuts. They were so sweet and so delicious! The Mini Fudge Cookie donut was my favorite just because the Mini Blueberry Lavender... I couldn't get the amount of lavender I wanted out of it, but it was still great. read more

Food 5(/5 stars): One of my favorite donuts of all time. The 100 layers and the flavors were phenomenal. My favorite flavor was the King Kong (maple bacon), but the Chocolate Sea Salt was a very close 2nd place. I don't usually like filled donuts, but their filling was excellent; one was like cream and the other like frosting. You must try if you're ever in Nashville! Five Daughters definitely gets Five Stars!! This Five Daughters is located inside of L&L Market and fits perfectly inside the main area of the market alongside a few other eateries and clothing shops. Whether you love or loathe doughnuts and pastries, I feel Five Daughters is for you! And honestly, if you loathe doughnuts, we probably shouldn't be friends. With several locations around the Nashville metro area (and beyond!), Five Daughters slings some of the best donuts and pastries around! And these aren't your normal donuts, these doughy circles of love feature 100 layers of crisp, fluffy and doughy goodness. You also hear this variety of doughnut referred to as a "cronut", but I normally refer to them as "Mhmm Donuts" followed by "absolutely I will take 2 more". I am somewhat of a purist when it comes to my sweets, so naturally I always gravitate toward and enjoy The Purist donut here, which is your standard glazed style donut. While simple in design, the taste is next level! I have gotten a wild hair and landed on the King Kong which is a donut that features a maple glaze and candied bacon...because, why not?! They have their classics that stay on rotation year round and then also have a monthly/seasonal rotation of flavors. Cookies and Cream is one of my favorite rotating flavors! In addition to donuts, they do have cookies, donut holes and other pastries plus coffee. Overall, Five Daughters is a solid spot for a tasty treat from time to time! I won't lie as say that they are priced the best, as it can be seen as expensive and is surprising your first visit, but the variety and quality make the price a little more palatable (see what I did there?!). read more

Absolutely incredible place. Now I have tried my fair share of donuts around the world... finally had the opportunity to give Five Daughters a shot a few weeks back and WOW. Unexpectedly good. Best donuts I have ever had!! The 100 layer donut I was expecting to be like a croissant but no- (not that croissants are bad- they certainly aren't) these guys are the star of the show. We tried 6 donuts- some regular and some of the 100 layer ones. Was expecting the 100 layers to not be filled, but they were all filled with the freshest fillings I have had. Everything about these donuts are exceptional. I cannot rave anymore about these- go get some!! Large flavor selection, typically a decent line, super fresh and they even have other yummy things like cookies. What are you doing!? Get to Five Daughters STAT! read more
Expectations had been set so high that I flew in to Nashville airport and, rather than checking in at the hotel first, I went straight to Five Daughters. I had been told these were the best donuts in Nashville and some of the best anywhere. I have to agree. I didn't realize they were actually what some other places call "cronuts", halfway between a croissant and a donut. Five Daughters calls them hundred layer donuts. But, as you can see in the pictures, they are indeed full of delicious layers. This makes them light, and also gives the option to fill some of the layers with cream, which they do on some of their versions. One nice touch is that they have mini versions of most of their flavors so you can try more than one. The pricing doesn't quite work out though since the minis are $3 and the big ones which are at least 3x the mass, are $4.50. I got the mini purist and a regular maple glaze. Both were absolutely delicious. Key thing to know, the maple glaze has its central layers filled with vanilla buttercream. Delicious, but also very different from the purist which has no filling. Believe it or not I actually preferred the purist. Without the buttercream filling the layers and flavors of the pastry itself really shone. I'd get another one in a heartbeat. In fact... read more

Took a spontaneous trip to Nashville with my wife and we love trying donuts in every town we visit. We found Five Sisters on yelp and I'm so glad we came here! It's a small shop located inside the L&L market on the second floor. The donuts here was amazing! Each were so different! Some of them were made with a beautiful dough and others were cronuts! I love it when donut shops don't make every donut the same and just change the topping, that gets boring. Their selection was so pretty and well displayed which made it easy to order. We ordered an Oreo type donut, a chocolate sea salt, strawberry short cake, the purist, Huckleberry, and blue berry lemon. These donuts were all soo good! They were all unique and special in their own way, the donuts were each fried differently and the topics were amazing! The Huckleberry was soo soo good and o never get fruity donuts because I enjoy chocolate type sweets more but this was great. Best donuts in Nashville! read more

Plenty of options but wasn't a vibe for me. The donuts are thick and look pretty. They are a lot of bread and buttercream in the middle of which I'm not a fan. I'd say overly sweet on the buttercream. More party type than your normal donut type. Hard to explain I guess. We tried 4 different ones and the brownie one my husband rated the best but all would be better without that buttercream all in them though still they'd be too doughy. This bakery is known for it's "100 layer donuts", a hybrid of a croissant and a donut. According to their site, it can take upto 3 days to make! This is climbing to the top of the mountain of donuts! We stood in line and decided we had to try as many as we could. We spent $60! I've never spent that much money on donuts in my life! But, it was so worth it. When I go back, I'll just get the King Kong - it was THE BEST! The display of donuts was beautiful and it smelled like heaven. read more

Five Daughters Bakery at L&L Market what a delight with 100 different flavors of Cronuts. Today went with the Carrot Cake and Vanilla Cream they also sell cups of just the holes from the punched out middles. You can also have one of their sandwiches in a Cronut. The staff is always friendly, pleasant and helpful. In the Market there are some tables and chairs if you want to sit and enjoy your tasty little treat. The Cronut is layers of flaky dough and air. It is soft but has crunch the toppings sweet and delicious. A must try, I live across the street and it is hard not to run across the street everyday... a true test in will power read more

If I could marry a donut shop it would be this one! There selection of donuts, cronuts, and even fritters is amazing and they taste so fresh. We were planning on only getting 4 donuts including the purist cronut, paleo mocha crunch donut, peanut butter mud pie cronut and blueberry cake donut, but we were debating the apple fritter. We decided against the apple fritter but we're thinking about it the whole time. The sweet girl at the register added it to our box for free! Seriously, these donuts did not disappoint, in fact the blueberry one was still warm when we got it. Will be back! read more

How is parking at the West Nashville location?
There is a free gravel lot behind the L&L Market. On busier days such as Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the lot can fill up pretty quickly. The Market offers complimentary valet services on these days in the afternoon.
