    Tiramisu Brownie

Stopped by Sift for a little sweet treat, a Saturday girly must-do, lol. The space is stunning and bright inside, the kind of spot where you can sit and catch up with friends or open your laptop and get some work done. On the bakery side, they've got pretty much anything you'd crave: cookies, bagels, tarts, and even tiramisu brownies. The staff was super friendly and explained the menu without any pressure, which I really appreciated. On the coffee side, they don't serve espresso-based drinks (a bit of a letdown) but they do offer cold brew with lots of delicious foam options, so there's still something fun to sip on. Overall, it's a perfect place for a cute outing. And it wouldn't feel right not to point out that the baker is helping bring new life to a part of town that's often overlooked. Sift sits right among community favorites like Slim & Husky's and Tío Fun, plus The Loading Dock, a new coffee shop nearby if lattes are more your thing.

3 words- Iced Tiramisu Barcelona!!! Easily a top 3 coffee of all time for me. Been waiting months for Sift to open and was so excited to finally try it. The coffee selections are creative and fun and exactly what I expect from the Dose team. Pastries are more gourmet and restaurant level as opposed to typical coffee shop pastries. Great for catering/takeout for hosting. If you're looking for a "basic" muffin/loaf this is not the place for you. Savory recommendation- Ham and gouda roll. Sweet recommendation- Any of the cake squares. I love the creativity and attention to detail the team put into pastry design. I do wish there were more savory offerings. Free parking and it's a large space so we had no trouble finding a table to sit and chat.

This is a new bakery on Buchanan, on the west side of Rosa Parks Blvd. It has a super cute butter mural on the side of the building. The space is really huge - lots of tables for those who want to come and sit or work out of there. It was not busy at all when I stopped by, and only 1 person was sitting inside. All of the coffee is produced by Dose, which is a more bitter coffee than I prefer. I got the sipping chocolate drink which was really good but really rich. The roasted marshmallow in it was HUGE. I also tried the chocolate raspberry cake and that was also very tasty. Most of their other items were vegan or not up my alley. The don't have many traditional baked goods; its more like gourmet pastries. I honestly wished they had standard croissants or bread to purchase.

Honestly they've got some great pastries. Closest you can get to France without taking a flight.

When I arrived, there weren't many people in line, so ordering was quick and easy. One of the things I loved right away was how the building felt more like a home than a bakery. There was some cute merchandise to browse, and signs throughout the space clearly directed customers where to go to order. Once I made my way to the counter and saw the donut selection for the day, I was beyond excited. Everything looked amazing! I knew I wanted to take some donuts home to share with my chiropractor and her team since she was actually the one who recommended that I visit in the first place. Thankfully, they offered a box of six mini donuts, which was the perfect option for sharing. Of course, I couldn't leave without getting a few full-sized donuts for myself and my husband. After much debate, I chose the Maldon Chocolate, Wild Berry, and Boston Cream. Once everything was packed up and ready to go, I headed outside, but there was no way I was waiting until I got home to try one. The Wild Berry donut was calling my name, so I took a bite right there. It was warm, soft, flaky, and bursting with flavor. The berry filling was delicious, and they definitely didn't skimp on it. Every bite was packed with sweet, fruity goodness. Honestly, that first bite was pure perfection and exactly what I needed before a long drive home. Sharing the donuts with everyone when I got back made the experience even more fun, and they were a huge hit. Overall, this bakery absolutely lived up to the hype, and I can't wait to come back and try even more flavors on my next visit!

The fondant version is what we got complete with mis-spelling and child like painted on details. After notifying Kelly that we were not happy with the presentation she proceeded to text a bunch of photos of cakes she's done that turned out great, incessantly defending her sub-par work. She blamed the extreme heat for inability to complete as ordered, they tried putting it in the freezer to keep it cold but just too hot out. She said she would have directed us differently as far as type of cake decor if she had known the weather would be so hot- we ordered this cake far in advance and the the heat wave was anticipated days before we arrived. It really just seems like the type of detail we wanted was not something this bakery is capable of doing. We had the cake delivered to the house before we got there which was super convenient. Only got concerned with this after Kelly told us to make sure to lock our doors at night since we were in a "bad" neighborhood. Since the bakery had the code to our doors and she was texting this late at night, this comment was received as threatening and we became concerned for our safety. The customer service and service recovery is something this bakery really needs to work on, we will NEVER be working with them again. Only positives... She did acknowledge that the order looked very rushed and gave us 10% refund. The cake tasted great, but just not worth the money in my opinion.

I arrived early around 8:00 a.m. on a Saturday and immediately noticed a steady stream of people pulling up, grabbing bakes, and heading out. The staff was incredibly cheerful and welcoming, especially for a busy Saturday morning and I really appreciate that. The bakery's display case looked stunning, with every pastry and cookies looking more tempting than the last. I spotted a gorgeous mango croissant that caught my eye, though I decided to save that one for a return trip. I really appreciate a bakery that offers a great balance between savory and sweet options. Our order included an Everything Bagel Croissant, a Prosciutto Croissant, an Almond Chocolate Croissant, and a Monkey Bread. The Everything Bagel Croissant was an absolute genius combination. With a dollop of cream cheese right in the center and everything bagel seasoning on top, it brought the absolute best of my two favorite breakfast worlds together. The Prosciutto Croissant apparently tasted good, my husband claimed! On the sweet side, I thought the Almond Chocolate Croissant was decent. The frangipane was tasty, though a bit on the sweeter side, and I wish there was a bit more dark chocolate to balance that sweetness out. The real star of the show for me, however, was the Monkey Bread. It was gooey, pillowy, incredibly generous with the caramel, and loaded with sticky pecans. It felt like total perfection. I am definitely returning soon to try more.

They had a solid selection of pastries available, though no cookies that morning (I've had them here before, so I was a little disappointed to miss those). The staff member immediately recommended the cinnamon roll, so I went with that. I took it home and warmed it up before sharing it with my family, and that definitely made a difference, it was excellent warm. I don't think it would've had the same impact eaten cold. Service was quick, in-and-out in just a few minutes. I didn't notice much in terms of seating, so it seems more grab-and-go than a place to linger. Overall, simple visit but a very strong cinnamon roll recommendation.
